OK I know it's VERY early days folks but someone's got to start this thread sometime. Due date between May 4 and May 9. Any other takers?

Okay, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about -- a definite possibility.

I just read this on babycentre.co.uk

Is vaginal discharge ever a sign of something serious?
If your discharge changes, pay attention. If it is foul-smelling, thick, yellow, green, or causes itching or burning, it could be a sign of thrush or other infection. Contact your doctor or midwife, as you'll want to treat it before you deliver your baby.

You should also contact your doctor if you notice a brownish discharge, with no bleeding.

myermay, from what I can remember, uwila is right in that brown is ok, red is not. Can you find someone to look after ds for a little while to let you rest?

myermay, don't worry about eating too much. I have decided that I don't care how much weight that I put on (3.5 stone last time! ) because I will go to weightwatchers afterwards.
ok, i'm still a dress and shoe size up and a cup size down after ds if i'm being honest -
doesn't seem fair does it?

Uwila · 19/10/2004 18:50

I gain a lot of weight with DD as well. This time, I'm trying to focus a bit less on the junk food. But I figure if I'm hungry, then I'll eat. Trouble is I'm hungry at work where there's loads of junk food. Oh well, better to enjoy pregnancy than be one of those skinny just after birth mums that the rest of hate.

KIQFTM · 19/10/2004 19:26

Hi all. Had my scan today and have the picture to prove there is a baby in there and not a big ball of wind. Still all feels a bit remote and unreal - not showing at all.

Has everyone seen a midwife yet? I've not even heard from mine and I'm 11 weeks and OLD

Uwila · 19/10/2004 19:33

no midwife appt yet. But I went in last week to tell GP I was pregnant. She had me pee in her little bottle, and today I recieved a letter fro her to make an appointment to discus "the results of my urine test". How daft is that? Gee I wonder what the results were. And why couldn't she phone me instead of sending me a letter so that I can phone her from work... which I can't do because I'd be sharing my news with the office. Oh well. I know what my tests said. So I can guess what hers said too.

fisil · 20/10/2004 07:34

Uwila, tell GP to get her act together fast. Has she already written to Kingston? I don't know if you're in area for Kingston, but if you're not you'll need to move fast to get in there. What a palava!

Marina · 20/10/2004 14:31

KIQFTM, was this your nuchal scan? How did it go? OK?
Hope you all get those MW appointments you need soon.

KIQFTM · 20/10/2004 14:48

Marina - no this was just the dating scan. Confiming I'm about 11 weeks and due 10 May 2005. Will have to arrange the nuchal scan myself pronto. They did ask me if I'm going to have an amnio though which they definitely didn't ask me last time.

logic · 20/10/2004 14:52

hi girls,

KIQFTM, I bet it was nice to see the baby on the scan Mine is in 2 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it.

The doppler arrived this morning and I'm pretty sure that I found the heartbeat!! It was a bit hit and miss because it's early but there was definately a reading of 120+ which kept appearing and disappearing in about the same place. I am really relieved now.

KIQFTM · 20/10/2004 15:02

logic - it was lovely. All changed since the last time I had one, no craning my neck round to look at the screen, a big flash one in front of me so I could lie in luxury looking at it's little heart and flailing limbs. Boyfriend had speculated that it might have Mickey Mouse ears so relieved they weren't there

fisil · 20/10/2004 15:17

I've had an eventful day. Got to work at 7 as usual, couldn't do anything except think about my scan tomorrow and that blank screen that I saw last time with the mc. I was so convinced that that is what would happen tomorrow. Every time someone tried to talk to me I had to run back to my office and burst into tears. After I'd already rung dp twice by 8 o'clock, I decided that there was no way I was going to be able to get through a lesson, let alone 5. So I came home. I rang my friend who is receptionist at local EPU and she said to come in straight away. So we went in, waited 10 minutes and then had the scan. And there it was - 60.5mm, beating heart, beautiful spine, arms, legs and everything. I was crying with relief. And I am so happy to have this facility. It would only have been 24 more hours to wait - but 24 hours of constant crying and anxiety, which wouldn't have done the little one (or my two big ones) much good! We won't tell anyone til tomorrow though - wait for the nuchal fold etc. first.

For the first time I have stopped thinking "I am suffering from pg symptoms" and started thinking "I am going to have a baby". But it is taking some getting use to!

Oh good myermay, you are better then? I was thinking about you earlier and and wondered how you wee doing today.

And, Fisil, so glad you got to see your little healthy one.

Uwila · 20/10/2004 15:34

Oh goodness. That was "were", not "wee"!

northstar · 21/10/2004 10:03

Hi everyone and welcome uwila
Myself and ds at my mums for 6days - heaven - she spoiled me rotten, feet up, lie-ins, fridge full of marks and spencers finest!!!!!!
Now back to reality - still heard nothing from hospital re: booking in but we tend to do things slowly here in ireland. Had one day of no symptoms, but followed by 3 horrendous ones, feeling really sick all the time but cant even be sick therefore putting lots of weight on.
Anyone else got a pot belly yet? Im going to a wedding at the start of november and have had to buy a big poncho to wear over my dress as don't want to announce anything on the day as it is bride's big day.

logic · 21/10/2004 11:20

hello northstar - your break sounded lovely! I put on three or four pounds in the first few weeks and thanks to the m/s I have lost it again so I'm back to my pre-pregnant weight. Still, I'm hardly going to waste away

northstar · 21/10/2004 12:35

Me neither! My cousin just told me that my aunt is going round telling people she thinks i've put on weight Makes me want to put off telling anyone for even longer - i wonder just how FAT i would have to get before anyone mentioned it to me

cfkch · 21/10/2004 13:30

I'm just over 10 weeks and have put on soooo much weight - I blame the Atkins Diet. I'm already in maternity clothes as none of my ordinary stuff fits me, and I've not managed to find a nice pair of maternity jeans that actually hang right. I put on 4 stone with my 1st and I'm hoping I don't go that way again. Saw the midwife on Tuesday and she told me to avoid crisps - unfortunately this is all I seem to want to eat!!!

logic · 21/10/2004 13:41

well, I didn't realise just how big I got at the end of my first pregnancy until I saw some photos afterwards. No-one said anything! I am determined to keep the weight down this time and diet like mad afterwards. Weightwatchers is my friend

I am determined to get down to 8 stone eventually and stay there. Aesthetically, I think I look best at just over 7 stone but I'll never get there again! That's a teenage weight. I have recently been lurking at a tolerable 9 stone and eating a lot of crisps. I love them too, cfkch but since being pregnant I can't bear to look at them - or curries, or chinese food! Aargh!

Uwila · 21/10/2004 14:07

awww all this talk of crisps... I thinkI'll go downstairs and get some. yum yum.

LittleB · 21/10/2004 16:28

Oooh, I'm hungry too now. I've gone right off sandwiches and keep munching crisps too, I hardly ever eat them normally, trying to eat lots of fruit too, but seem to have had quite alot of biscuits aswell! I think I need maternity clothes pretty soon too, I've outgrown all my bras, I was only a 34A, and can only fit into two pairs of trousers now. I have trouble finding nice fitting jeans anyway as I'm only 5ft2 so have to find short ones. I think Next have some good ones though. Its exciting to hear that some of you are having scans, that must be so amazing to be able to see your growing babies I can't wait!

fisil · 21/10/2004 17:26

saw my little one again and had nuchal scan and the rest. All is really good, so I now have to face facts that there may well be a baby at the end of all this! Great going public too!
