I'm home! Still none the wiser but so pleased to see my bed! No work for me tomorrow: just going to take it easy. Thanks again for the messages x

emalady · 24/10/2018 06:35

@maxiflump1 glad you are ok and back home.
@notquiteadandt I looked at the the daisy courses but not very local and I'm already doing yoga. Does look good but I think I'm going to go for a teacher who comes to the house so it's just me and DH. Had a couple of recommendations locally. My midwife mentioned practicing the techniques and relaxation plus people have said it helps with sleep so I figured sooner is better than later.

MrsY87 · 24/10/2018 07:27

I did hypnobirthing last time and whilst I wouldn't say I breathed my baby out it definitely helped me in the first part of labour and kept me pretty calm the whole way through. I did a group course and met a couple of other mums who I'm still friends with on it which was great. It reminds me I must dig out the CD and start listening to it for this time as well as doing some breathing practice!

MrsY87 · 24/10/2018 07:28

Glad you are ok @maxiflump1 I had something similar in my last pregnancy and they concluded it was probably just a flood of discharge 😳 it even soaked through to my jeans so I was convinced my waters had gone! Pregnancy is not glamorous!!

AliceRR · 24/10/2018 08:07

@maxiflump1 Glad you’re ok, must have been worrying!

I’m worrying about movement again today!! She was moving a lot last night but haven’t felt much yet this morning. It’s not the first time this has happened and usually she picks up later if shes has a quiet morning so hopefully a pattern will establish soon (24 weeks + 3d now) as otherwise will be worrying up until I give birth! I probably will anyway...

bubblybrit · 24/10/2018 08:20

Glad you and baby are ok @maxiflump1. Enjoy your restful day x

Surprisedmom · 24/10/2018 08:30

Very glad to hear you and baby are ok @@maxiflump1

@AliceRR I know what you mean about worrying no matter what. I think since my midwife appointment on Sunday and reading the leaflet she gave me on movement I’ve been a lot more worried. Every morning I panic a little if he’s not active, but 2bh i’m up and out in 20mins so barely have time to look out for movement (and with an anterior placenta it seems I really only feel it when still).

kjonesey2 · 24/10/2018 08:31

I bought a hypnobirthing CD for my last birth which I found useful during birth. For a tenner or so would totally recommend. I also used a TENS machine which I found good, I think you have to get them on early though and not everyone finds them helpful.

AliceRR · 24/10/2018 08:45

@Surprisedmom I have a posterior placenta and sometimes feel a lot of movement but I did call the midwife on Friday as I was a worried and she said she thinks things seem fine as baby is growing and finding a pattern etc.

Alicejj8x · 24/10/2018 09:21

I’m 23 weeks today and have woken up to a few little cramps ( which have now gone) and abit of diarrhoea .. my tummy does feel abit uneasy but I’m wondering if this is ok/ normal or if I should keep my eye on it and then ring someone for advice?

somethingfromnothing · 24/10/2018 09:39

@alicejj8x I had a sickness bug last week and had cramps and diarrhoea but if you are worried it might be worth speaking to your mw.

Alicejj8x · 24/10/2018 10:12

@somethingfromnothing
Oh I'm sorry to hear you had that :(
I haven't been sick but have felt abit sicky at times but it seems to have calmed down now have only been to the toilet twice but ill defo keep an eye on it xx

Celebelly · 24/10/2018 11:19

Just back from my 24-week appointment – got my MatB1 form and sent off for my Baby Box! Baby's heartbeat fine and bump measuring fine too. Next appointment is when I get my Anti D jab as I'm rhesus negative. No word on GD test and I forgot to ask, so I guess I'm either not getting it or will be getting it later on.

AliceRR · 24/10/2018 12:29

My nappies have arrived!

I ordered three lots and the boxes are bigger than I expected - I don’t think I’ll manage to get them home on the train! They look good though, styles slightly different from the pic online, hopefully each box has different ones in

twiglet · 24/10/2018 17:03

@Alicerr I ordered 2 but at separate times and they were the same styles in both)

AliceRR · 24/10/2018 17:15

@twiglet Ok that’s interwstint. I suppose it doesn’t matter too much but I noticed they were different from the pic online so that made me think they might all vary

twiglet · 24/10/2018 17:17

Yep I seemed to get the safari selection with hot air balloons and a red one as well. Both boxes had the same mixture

AliceRR · 24/10/2018 17:22

@twiglet I’ve only opened one box as I had them delivered to work and won’t be able to carry them all home on the train (even without DH) so going to drive in tomorrow then can have a good look!

I want to look for some reusable wipes / flannels as well

Lulabell1 · 24/10/2018 18:37

Well its official my maternity date is in for 11th Jan! How exciting just counting down the weeks even though im still signed off.

Surprisedmom · 24/10/2018 19:47

@AliceRR both of mine were the same patterns but yes they are different to the picture. It said on Amazon that they may vary in brackets. I figured the discount was partly so they could clear some of the patterns they have excess stock of and so was expecting a random mix.

emalady · 24/10/2018 20:40

@lulabell1 that's very exciting. I think I'm going to change my dates to take a bit longer. Was going to work to 38 weeks but might actually stop at 36.

Since2016 · 24/10/2018 20:59

Just worked out my annual leave - alas I’ll have to start mat leave earlier in Jan to avoid coming back, as I can only take the leave I’ve accrued as I’ve had a lot of leave this year (and off for a week week after next) but it’s looking like I can take the year - going back in late Nov and then annual leave till Jan. But not going back after Christmas hoorah! Mat b1 going in next week. Eek!

Yakadee · 24/10/2018 21:07

Aww I wish I knew. Waiting on my consultant appointment and confirmation of whether I can have a section. If I can, I'll try (all being well) work right up so I can take leave off after. Looking like mid - end of January (due 3rd Feb) x

welshweasel · 24/10/2018 21:14

Mine’s in too. Finishing on 18th jan when I’ll be 38 weeks! Section will be booked for 39 weeks.

It’s the same as I planned last time and ended up off sick from 30 weeks and had baby at 35 weeks so we’ll see!

twiglet · 24/10/2018 21:18

I'm booked to start maternity leave on my 39th week lol but actually finish on the Friday so will be 38 weeks.

I have 2 weeks off for Christmas so figured being back for 2-3 weeks would be doable.
