Thank you folks, I think you’re right about no longer being contagious if spots are scabbed over. But I know I will fret over this now so think I will mention it to the midwife tomorrow to be on the safe side. @wordsmithereens sadly neither of my parents are around any more, I’m pretty sure I remember being told of having chicken pox, but can’t be certain and am just doubting myself now!

HidCat · 06/09/2018 18:44

@melissa112 try to take reassurance in the fact they're able to retest if they've not been able to get what they need.

@puravida31 as long as the scans have formed you'll be fine. They're contagious before scanning.

wordsmithereens · 06/09/2018 18:48

@puravida31, ah, sorry to hear that. Yes, not surprised the self-doubt is creeping in! NHS webpages seem to say check it out with a GP or midwife - it'll probably be all right but they may want to monitor it just in case?

puravida31 · 06/09/2018 18:52

Thank you, yes I think I’ll phone the midwife in the morning

Marmite2018 · 06/09/2018 19:18

I'm pleased/sorry that I'm not the only one suffering with headaches. I am sure some of this is because I'm not drinking enough but I just can't face it!! It makes me so nauseas!

Sorry to hear that people are feeling low as well. Hope you all begin to feel brighter quickly.

Good luck to those with scans tomorrow!!!

LovelyFishy · 06/09/2018 19:53

Got a baby! Grin Dates pushes back a little (which I expected) so now 11+1 instead of 11+5 which meant too early for checks so re-scan booked for 2 weeks time.

Wineandchoccy · 06/09/2018 19:54

We can go on holiday Grin dd has healed well no op required and hopefully the cast can come off in 2-3 weeks

Wineandchoccy · 06/09/2018 19:55

@LovelyFishy cute photo and great you will get another look in 2 weeks

Angelmiracle · 06/09/2018 20:42

@Lovelyfishy that is a great scan pic for 11+1 lovely little foot and toes too 😁 Mine was very bean like for 10+2 though didn't find the midwife great at doing it.

Good luck for tomorrow @Jenlou1992 @melissa112

Due date confirmed as 11th March after scan today. Smile

wordsmithereens · 06/09/2018 21:08

Great news @wineandchoccy. And what a lovely pic, @LovelyFishy!

VillageFete · 06/09/2018 21:36

Sorry to hear so many are having a bad day. This pregnancy thing isn’t easy Sad Don’t get me wrong, I know we’re all so grateful to be in this boat, but it can be really tough going.

I have a bump, like a proper bump that’s really hard to hide. I’m 10+3. I noticed a couple of school mum’s looking at my stomach today. Why am I showing so early? I have a reassurance scan booked for tomorrow because i’m a crank!

ladycarlotta · 06/09/2018 22:06

@lovelyfishy its little foot! What a great scan. Well jel you get another - I thought the 12-week scan would see me through for a while, but I'm so tempted to book a private one. I won't, DP will think it's ridiculous. But I'd like to.

Jenlou1992 · 07/09/2018 06:23

Been awake for about 2 hours. Scanxiety..good luck if anyone else is due for scan today xx

Marmite2018 · 07/09/2018 06:27

@lemonsorbetinthesun we are due date buddies :)

wordsmithereens · 07/09/2018 06:33

Fingers crossed @jenlou1992!

PurpleFlower1983 · 07/09/2018 06:58

Is anyone else feeling much better now but worrying about it?

I’ve gone back to work so feeling a little tired afterwards but since starting the second trimester most of the sickness has gone.

I know this is normal but I still worry! Hmm

HidCat · 07/09/2018 07:06

@Wineandchoccy great news - have an amazing time!

Congratulations to this who've had good scans!

@PurpleFlower1983 I think it's normal to be a bit concerned, the symptoms provide some reassurance that things are going well. Try to embrace it and just remember you'll be feeling movements soon. πŸ˜ƒ

toastfiend · 07/09/2018 08:51

My nausea seems to have come back since I went into the second trimester. Which is very unexpected! I don't feel as sick as I did but I'm randomly dry heaving all the time, which I wasn't before, and it is really unpleasant and comes out of nowhere!

Very pleased to hear your DD has healed well and you're able to go on holiday @wineandchoccy, great news!

Congratulations to those who have had good scans the past couple of days and good luck to those with scans today. I've been tossing and turning all night I'm so nervous about mine. My wonderful friend has rearranged her plans to come with me as DH is unfortunately unable to get away from work so I'm very thankful for that. If nothing else the last few weeks have made me feel incredibly lucky to have such an amazing bunch of friends and relations who have all rallied around.

Danielle48 · 07/09/2018 09:15

Hey everyone.
Haven't checked in since the early threads as had a worrying time & was convinced I was losing baby so took myself away from everything baby related. Hopefully you're all ok if I jump back in!
Had my scan yesterday measuring 13+2 & baby looked perfect. THANK GOODNESS!!

My dreams at night are so intense I wake up feeling exhausted and the nausea is still persisting but I can't complain as i have a lovely healthy baby.

How is everyone coping today? Who's paying for an early scan and who's waiting until 20 weeks? I'm torn as I'm so impatient I don't know if I can wait lol!

Lovely scans! And welcome back @Danielle48, hopefully your scan has put your mind at ease somewhat. I'm one who is waiting for the 20weeker, but it feels like a long wait - I'm eagerly checking the post every day just for my appointment!

Just wanted to check in on my Lidl haul - I can't remember who pointed it out but thank you! I'm so chuffed with all the stuff I got; two long pillows, leggings, sportswear, a dress, a top, pjs, tights.... and a cute little vest/babygrow (don't quite know the lingo yet!) and a soft turtle (it just happened) for kiwi (kiwi seems to have stuck!). Would recommend a visit. We got loads and a bit of shopping for Β£100. It also feels really nice to have bought something for baby and helps make it feel more real!

Also I'm starting to be called out at work... "have you got some newwwss???". It's nice actually because I've just been feeling totally blobby, so I'm glad people are confident enough to decide it might be a baby and not all the cakes!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 07/09/2018 10:44

Lovely pics, it always amazes me how much of little people they are even though they are the size of a lemon (ish)!

Great news on DDs arm @wineandchoccy, have a lovely holiday.

Sickness has taken a turn for the worse today, breakfast came back for the first time.... Eugh. Hope it is easing for most of you!

Wineandchoccy · 07/09/2018 11:08

I have just been to Lidl bought jeans, tights and leggings. I wanted the pjs but they only had small left.
The baby clothes and sleeping bags looked lovely as well.

Wineandchoccy · 07/09/2018 11:09

@Danielle48 glad you had a good scan, sorry you have been having an anxious time it’s a long time to get to the dating scan isn’t it?
