Oh @Jenfur go and get yourself an early night Flowers

Can anyone advise how I can get any more fluids in me? I’ve gone off anything still. I can’t stomach water (used to drink 2litres a day) And I swear some of my bloating is because i’m not drinking water. I look like shit and feel so sluggish. I’ve been drinking lime and soda but i’m absolutely sick to death of it, and after 2 glasses I don’t want any more. Any drink suggestions? Preferably sparkling.

Anyone ever had that Mayflower curry? It’s a powder that you make up with water. Well, I had a huge craving for it tonight so made a massive chicken, mushroom, pepper and onion curry with a tonne of rice and chips Shock My portion was MASSIVE. I repulse myself. I need to stop this! I used to be careful with portion control, but i’m inhaling food as if i’m a 6’5 athletic man. I’m infact a 5’1 sedentary woman (Didn’t used to be sedentary, but not done a scrap of exercise since becoming up the duff)

ballanj · 05/09/2018 22:08

@Angelmiracle @Elizabeth134 @SquirtlesMumAgain congratulations on your lovely scans!!

@VillageFete I've been suffering with toilet issues too, exactly the same as you. Need to go and then taking forever and a day to finish the job. Mines got worse the last couple of days, going to try upping the water and fibre. Also, my nighttime peeing has eased off at nearly 13 weeks.

Anyone else been getting headaches? Also, now finding that I need to take rest days between my running days, the muscles are really feeling it now. Don't want to have to stop running completely but have to remind myself I'm working two hearts, two sets of lungs etc so I'm bound to feel more knackered. How's everyone else finding their exercise, those who do?

Waiting for the 2nd trimester energy surge!!!!

LovelyFishy · 05/09/2018 22:08

VillageFete I wish I could eat like that! Even the thought of curry at the moment gives me heartburn! Drinks-wise I find that lemonade with blackcurrent and lime cordial works really well, the sweet/sharp combo seems to help a lot.

Scan tomorrow!! ShockGrin

lemonsorbetinthesun · 05/09/2018 22:43

@Angelmiracle it is either 18th March (by my dates) or 11th March according to an early scan.
I have scan tomorrow so will find out for sure then I guess!

Hoping for 11th as DD birthday 26th!

toastfiend · 05/09/2018 22:55

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow @Jenfur.

I'm having a down evening and have had a big cry for no reason. I think part of it is anxiety about the scan on Friday when we'll hopefully find out what happened whilst we were away on holiday and what, if anything, we need to do about it and if everything is OK, I guess. DH works away during the week and horse has gone now so I'm finding the evenings tough as I'm on my own and have plenty of time to worry! My dog has cheered me up though by rushing over to cuddle me, snuffling my face where I was crying and then she got stress hiccups when I was still crying so I had to stop! She definitely knows something is going on, she sits with her head resting on my tummy all the time now and she's even more cuddly than before.

How is everyone else doing? I'm still very tired most of the time at the moment but I'm finding I'm getting much less 'brain fog' than I was a few weeks ago!

Wineandchoccy · 06/09/2018 07:17

@VillageFete have you tried the new tea infusions? It’s a fruity cold tea sounds disgusting but they taste great. I think it’s twinnings that make them.
I also like Fitzpatricks cordial with lemonade.

@Jenfur I hope you feel a lot better today hormones are horrible Sad

Wineandchoccy · 06/09/2018 07:20

I woke up with carpal tunnel pain/pins and needles in my arm and hand. I had that when I was pregnant last time Sad

I’m taking dd back to the hospital for a review on s broken elbow fingers crossed it doesn’t need an op as we are supposed to be going on holiday tomorrow

melissa112 · 06/09/2018 07:42

@Jenfur I hope you are feeling better today. I think it just gets a little overwhelming at times with the hormones, I definitely have had a few cries!

@toastfiend hope you are feeling better too and hoping your scan can relieve your anxiety. Sending hugs.

@Wineandchoccy fingers crossed here for no operation for your DD. Where abouts are you going for holiday if you don't mind me asking?

Feeling exhausted today. First week back in work properly after working from home/being signed off due to the morning sickness for about 6 weeks. It's really getting on top of me, especially the commute so I've been allowed to work from home after lunch today and have my 12wk scan tomorrow so will be doing the same then. Hoping to get this extra energy soon as I'll be 13wks on Saturday!

Wineandchoccy · 06/09/2018 08:04

@melissa112 luckily only north Wales so if she needs an op or another review next week we are only a couple of hours away so may be able to go for part of the week

ladycarlotta · 06/09/2018 09:28

@ballanj yes, horrible headaches here from 12/13 weeks or so. Less awful now at 14+5. I think it's some weird hormonal thing in the transition from first to second trimester.

@lovelyfishy good luck for today's scan! And @toastfiend good luck for tomorrw - I hope all's looking good and you get a few answers. Your dog sounds so sweet.

If anything my brain fog has got worse lately. Just cannot summon up words, and DP gets frustrated that I can't remember conversations we've had.

Sictransitgloria · 06/09/2018 10:04

It’s reassuring to read that you are all suffering with morning sickness, no appetite, constipation and headaches....I don’t really get ill and this first trimester is doing me in!

Yesterday, I felt the worst I have ever felt. Retching in the car in between visits (community nurse) and then having to drive 40 miles to a meeting. I got in from work yesterday and slept 12 hours. Off work sick today, my partner has told me all week to take a day off. It’s difficult though, as my job means I let people down :(

BadBadBeans · 06/09/2018 11:52

Checking back in - I have been reading but having a hard time finding the time to update! Striking how many of us suffer / have suffered from anxiety. From my experience I would say it is well worth keeping lines of communication open about it with midwives - and health visitors after the babies are born. It's a tricky thing to navigate - I found it incredibly hard to distinguish between what I should and shouldn't be worrying about, because all of my worries came from a rational place, just hugely hugely blown out of proportion. I have a much better handle on it now but am wary of things escalating again once the baby is here.

I had good news yesterday - Harmony test results back, low risk for all the trisomies. I'll have the NHS combined screening with my dating scan next week - the midwife has advised that I do anyway, and the private practitioner I saw also said it would be a good thing to do because she doesn't measure the nuchal fold. But I am glad I did the Harmony early this time rather than in a bit of a panic after the NHS test as I did with DS. I feel more like I'm in control.

So sorry to hear about all of those feeling awful. I felt a lot better yesterday but today I feel rough as sticks and have spent half the morning lying in bed reading Harry Potter (thank god for nursery, but WHOOPS I have a huge task list to be getting through and could really do with making the most of my child-free day!) @toastfiend and @Jenfur sounds like you both need some TLC.

@ballanj I sacked off the gym at about 5 or 6 weeks, which is way earlier than with DS but I just felt so rough I didn't see how I was going to manage it. I've been swimming again the last three weeks or so and I'm finding it okay, but I'm by no means a fast swimmer so it's not the workout I would normally be getting. First trimester exercise is HARD! With DS I was quite happily on the crosstrainer throughout a lot of the second trimester I think. Then I switched to swimming until I was about 38 or 39 weeks, at which point I decided I was allowed to just flop!

TheWanderlust · 06/09/2018 12:59

I'm having one of "those days" - where life is too much to deal with. I've taken the day off work and nothing but watching daytime TV is going to be achieved.

I saw the GP this morning for an on going pain in my hip that has gradually become worse over the last 4 weeks. Turns out I have inflammation / pressure of my sacroiliac joint due to rapid change in body shape and have been referred for urgent physio. If that fails then will need injections into the joint on a regular basis.

Feel like my body is failing me today. Just hope it is strong enough to carry this baby to full term. Seems too early to be experiencing issues so early on (14+1)

SquirtlesMumAgain · 06/09/2018 13:11

Rest and never apologise for just watching TV. You can do more damage pushing yourself to try and do something rather than rest.
DS started back at pre-school today, I can't wait for his full days Tues & Wed. He is thankfully enjoying Go Jetters next to me having lunch. Cbeebies is my best friend at the moment!

Jenlou1992 · 06/09/2018 17:10

My scan at 9am tomorrow . So excited nervous anxious scared . First time seeing the baby praying hoping everything is as it should be . Then can finally tell everyone ! Kept hidden for so long . I may go out this weekend and buy something for the baby. Only if they don't push my dates back. I should be 13+2 tomorrow . But feels like 100000 haha . Hope it went well for every one that had scans today xxx

melissa112 · 06/09/2018 17:22

@Wineandchoccy Wales sounds lovely. I hope you got some good news regarding the op today.

@Badbadbeans great news on your Harmony results! Really pleased for you.

@TheWanderlust it definitely sounds like you need a rest. Hope you can get some relief for your pain. Hugs.

@Jenlou1992 good luck for the scan tomorrow. Ours is also tomorrow and we're planning on buying a little outfit afterwards

I'm feeling really emotional today. Have felt like I wanted to cry all day but with no real reason. Work was stressful, then I've just had a call from the place I did the NIPT test and they said the lab will need to analyse the sample for another 7 days as there may not be enough fetal DNA and I may have to do a resample. I'd got my hopes up for having a result tomorrow or Monday and now I've just burst into tears.

My OH is telling me that it's nothing to worry about and they did say it's nothing bad on the phone. The NT measurement was 1.53 so that reassured me but I feel really upset now. They said it doesn't affect the accuracy at all but the anxious part of me is now worrying that it will. I have my NHS scan tomorrow and as they've done the NT measurement already I won't be having their tests. Think seeing baby will cheer me up but hmph. Need to stop crying Sad

wordsmithereens · 06/09/2018 17:33

Huge hugs to everyone who's having a hard time! This too shall pass, meanwhile look after yourselves. Flowers

I'm veering between good day/bad day/repeat in terms of energy/sickness at the moment. Had a horrible bizarre dream which woke me up yesterday and never got any better after that. Am also tying up things with work so that's made me quite sad at times, meanwhile trying to keep some motivation to update cv and rebrand myself for potential freelancing - meh.

On good days sausage egg and cheese bagels are amazing though! Grin

We also still haven't had the screening results through, scan was over 2 weeks ago. At what point do I chase?!

Velcro88 · 06/09/2018 18:01

@wordsmithereens you've clearly got a lot on re work that needs mental and emotional motivation: I'm being a bit useless at work so I feel for you and am willing you some of that fabled second trimester energy! Also no harm in calling to find out about your results - it's likely to be in hand, if slow, but I'm sure they'd understand a phone call to check!

Anyone been to Lidl today? I'm gonna head in later to have a gander...

wordsmithereens · 06/09/2018 18:14

Thanks @Velcro88! Think it'll be ok, it's just a letting go process after many years of investment.

I actually went to Lidl, full of excitement about maternity wear to find... empty but labeled shelves as it looks like their stock hadn't come in yet. Found 3 nice floaty tops in the charity shop sale for a steal though.

puravida31 · 06/09/2018 18:22

I’m having a bit of a panic. My job involves visiting families in their homes. Today I visited a family who announced their child was just getting over chicken pox, she was definetly recovering but still had a couple of scabbed over spots. My brain is just telling me chickenpox & pregnancy is bad!!
I’m 90% sure I had chicken pox as a child but starting to doubt myself. I’m hoping the child is maybe past the infectious period now? Should I just wait it out to see if I get unwell?

SquirtlesMumAgain · 06/09/2018 18:30

My midwife asked if DS had chicken pox yet and he said it is no issue if he does as I have had it as my body will give the baby immunity.

Managed to get a pair of maternity leggings, maternity sports leggings and a tunic dress. Went in for juice and came out with rolls, pain au chocolat, a cookie for DS for not whinging about me leaving him at preschool and the juice too!

Shampooeeee · 06/09/2018 18:36

Scabbed over are ok, any raw spots and she would still be contagious. You could ask your midwife for a blood test to check your immunity though.
Perhaps you should have a risk assessment at work too to set up a procedure for these types of things.

wordsmithereens · 06/09/2018 18:37

@puravida31 Is there any way you could check with your mum/dad if they remember you having had it?
