@Angelmiracle thank you for keeping the list so up to date for us all. I had a gender scan today and they are guessing girl but not quite sure so I get to go back in two weeks for another which isn't a bad thing, be nice to hear heartbeat once more before my twenty week scan.

Now the name debate can really begin (well in-between the nesting, been busy sorting batteries, chargers and leads today because obviously babies check you've done that sort of thing when they are born).

Wineandchoccy · 22/09/2018 22:12

@Spud2019 I have started nesting as well, if it’s not fixed down it’s going in the bin Hmm

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 23/09/2018 08:37

How's everyone's bumps progressing?
I've got a little bump but I'm still wearing my normal skinny jeans. My bump seems to get bigger as the day goes on so I think it's mostly bloat/gas. Sorry tmi.
It's definitely popped out a little bit in my 13th week as I've now got a little line on the bottom of my belly.
Still weighing less than I was before I got pregnant.

toastfiend · 23/09/2018 08:46

Mine is growing but has slowed down a little after it really popped out the other week. I'm 17 + 1 and definitely in maternity jeans now. I was able to fit into my normal sports leggings and bits for a while but the tighter ones of those have been relegated now too. I can get my normal clothes on still, but I can't bear anything tight around my stomach so it's not comfortable at all!

Wineandchoccy · 23/09/2018 09:05

I have a bump I’m fully in maternity clothes only non maternity clothes I’m in are cardigans etc
This is my 2nd baby, 3rd pregnancy though and last time I wasn’t in maternity clothes for ages

LittleKitty1985 · 23/09/2018 09:24

My bump really grew this week (I'm 17+2) and lots of people at work were commenting on it. I'm finding the not-so-subtle glances at my bump really funny. I'm going to do the big announcement to my students next week!

wordsmithereens · 23/09/2018 09:27

Definitely bumpy now! It's more obvious in some clothes than others though - especially in maternity clothes it's beginning to show. I really need to sort through my wardrobe and pack away what's become unusable.

melissa112 · 23/09/2018 09:28

I thought I had a bump last weekend, it looked huge and I was really surprised because I'm only 15+2 now with first baby. Then over the week it deflated Grin so I think it must have been bloating Sad I'm wearing my Lidl maternity leggings though, they are so comfy!

I have a random question but what do you all take for lunch to work? The fridge at work is grim so I have a lunch cool bag thing which I put ice packs in and it keeps things really cold. But I have no idea what to take. Can we have cooked meats in packs from the supermarket? Tesco do a lovely packet of lime, coconut and something else chicken. Does this count as deli meat? I'm sick of cheese sandwiches with chutney.

I did have some wholegrain pasta with tuna and mayo which I took the other day which was yummy but I'm aware i can't have too much tuna. Does anyone have any suggestions for things that don't need heating up (as work microwave is also grim..)

Nightmanagerfan · 23/09/2018 10:16

@melissa112 most cold meat is fine if it’s not cured (so chorizo, Parma ham etc is out), but cold chicken/cooked ham is fine. I noticed a lot of American pregnancy advice online says to avoid all deli meat but that’s not the NHS advice.

I often take salad in a Tupperware with a hunk of cheese or some houmous and a pitta or flatbread. Maybe some nuts. I also like cold pasta salad with pesto, tomatoes, roasted veg and cheese. Smoked salmon is ok in pregnancy too so you could have smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels?

melissa112 · 23/09/2018 10:58

@Nightmanagerfan thanks for the suggestions. I'm not a big fish fan other than salmon but I could take a bagel and salad. If I cut up the salad the night before and store in a Tupperware in the fridge is that safe?

Nightmanagerfan · 23/09/2018 11:21

@melissa112 yes that would be fine.

HidCat · 23/09/2018 12:07

@TheWanderlust congratulations on finding out you're having a girl. I can't wait to find out ours!

I haven't booked my jabs yet - have a cold so waiting for that to clear before getting my flu jab and will ask midwife about the whooping cough one when I see her next week. Bump is definitely visible now though not enough for anyone to make enquiries, I can feel the difference between the firm baby bump and the lodge bits lol.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 23/09/2018 12:21

Deli meat is usually the stuff that has been cured rather than cooked and hence to be avoided.

My bump is massive but mainly because if I suck my stomach muscles in it makes me heave! I look about 6 months pregnant at the top of my belly, but the bottom much less so. It's very strange and not a lovely rounded bump!

DS is playing up something chronic at the moment, which is not helpful! My lovely kind boy has gone on strike....

orangekitkat13 · 23/09/2018 14:10

I'm firmly in maternity trousers now, some of my tops still fit but the maternity tops are definitely more comfy.

Ordered some maternity tops from New Look on offer although there may be limited sizes.

LittleKitty1985 · 23/09/2018 17:15

I've just ordered some maternity stuff from ASOS, including a coat for Β£40 (don't really want to spend more than that on something I'll only wear for a few months)

1986mumof5 · 23/09/2018 18:09

My bump is huge. Has been here since about week 8. someone asked me if I was overdue the other day Shock I think it's because I only gave birth in February so my body didn't really get the most time to recover. At least baby has more than enough room lol. With regards lunch i find the previous day's dinner is usually the nicest thing for me but I know what you mean about grim microwave. I always cook a bit extra then bring in to work when I'm on day shift. I also work night shifts though (like tonight) and I take the current night's dinner lol. I don't tend to wear maternity clothes as my weight has fluctuated so much in the last ten years that I have clothes from size 8 - 14 so I just move up sizes if things get tight. I was size 10 after having baby in Feb and currently inside 12 stuff but I pretty much live in leggings when I'm not at work as they're just so comfy. I have lots of long tops too which accommodate growing bumps and are also great for the months after child birth while uterus contracts back. Hope everyone is doing well xxx

NotDoingThat · 23/09/2018 19:33

I'm 17 weeks and I don't see how bump can get any bigger- which I know is an incredibly naive thing to say! Feeling very fat at the mo-
Hoping it'll just take some adjustment time for this to be the new normal!

LovelyFishy · 23/09/2018 20:35

Angel Thanks for keeping the list so up-to-date! Glad I have company at the back of the class! Feels mad that some people are already talking gender scans and we’ve only got past the 12 week one!

I’m 13 weeks with 2nd baby and in the really annoying phase of too big for my regular clothes but too small for maternity. Bought a pair of Primark joggers yesterday which feel like heaven, even if they make me look like a bit of a scruff!

melissa Cold work lunches, my favourite salad ever: iceberg lettuce, bean sprouts, red grapes, apple, diced ham, grated cheese. Sounds insane but trust me, sooooo good! When I was working night shifts I tended to go for several snack pots throughout the shift, stuff I could eat at my desk: avocado and tomato, apple slices with peanut butter, hummus and pitta.

Marmite2018 · 23/09/2018 21:58

Has anyone noticed that their stomach is harder on one side than the other? I am almost convinced baby is sat near my right hip. I've definitely felt bubbles popping a few times in that area too but it very definitely feels harder than my left side. Is it normal for baby to have a favourite side?

PurpleFlower1983 · 23/09/2018 22:21

Mine often feels harder on one side than the other. I Googled it and apparently it’s quite normal.

ballanj · 23/09/2018 22:40

I'm definitely showing now, have moved up sizes in my trusty leggings. Really does make a difference having the right clothes that are comfortable.

Wondering if it's just me, but some days I feel far more 'bumpy' than others! And my bump doesn't feel hard hard yet, sometimes more wobbly. I'm 15+3. Anyone else feel like this? I'm sore bloating is playing a part in this too!

Jenfur · 24/09/2018 06:47

My bump is definitely harder on my left side than my right so I was quite surprised when I had my scan and baby wasn't really anywhere near my hard bit.

Woke up this morning from an awful dream where first my husband, then Barack Obama (unusual) and then my dad were all trying to kill me with a shotgun. Which wasn't very pleasant. Woke up with a sore neck and shoulder, think I need a new pillow. What were the recommendations for maternity body pillows? I didn't think I'd get one because I didn't with last baby but not sure I'll manage without it this time, I'm so uncomfortable at night.

wordsmithereens · 24/09/2018 07:41

@jenfur those dreams are awful aren't they? So bizarre, yet so disturbing and feel so realistic when you wake up. Hope your day distracts quickly!

I've got a theraline and it's awesome. Lots of tiny little balls so you can squish it into exactly the shape you want it to be and have more support/less support in different places. Would recommend!
