@Angelmiracle ah, good tip about being alert if I fall over or something. Hadn't thought of that and the midwife hadn't mentioned it.
@ballanj I think you're right that it's more of a danger for subsequent pregnancies - in fact it sounds like my partner's mum might have had this problem, as he's the youngest child and nearly died at birth, was kept in hospital with severe jaundice for weeks afterwards. Could have been HDN but I'll have to ask her.

ladycarlotta · 20/09/2018 10:24

I think I'm also feeling movements, and have been for about a week. The consultant the other day did ask me if I was - she said if I thought I could feel it, I probably could. The midwife said that by 24 weeks I should be counting movements and definitely feeling them every day so I guess it'll just increase from here. I really can't wait for DP to be able to feel them too though.

ballanj · 20/09/2018 11:38

@Wineandchoccy how exciting to feel movements! I can't wait to feel my little Wolfgang start to move (bit of an 'out there' nickname me and DP have given the bump!) I hope with all the running I do that it will be quite the mover! Will also make it feel a bit more real I reckon

ballanj · 20/09/2018 11:43

@melissa112 I was wondering the same thing with the peeing, as I read that during the 2nd trimester as your womb starts to move up and out of your pelvic area, it should ease the pressure on your bladder. I'm yet to notice any difference and am still up at least once a night. My sister said she felt the urge the whole way through her pregnancy, so maybe each woman is different? I did also read that it helps to rock a little back and forth, tilting your pelvis whilst going in order to fully empty your bladder. As you can see I read A LOT πŸ˜‚

toastfiend · 20/09/2018 11:54

I'm still getting up about 3 or 4 times a night to wee. Some days it's better than others. Doesn't matter what I drink, or how little/how much, it's very frustrating!

Some days it's better than others. I don't know if it would be done to position of baby at this (relatively early stage) or what, but some days I have the urge to wee constantly (even when I've just been!) and others I'm almost back to normal again!

Wineandchoccy · 20/09/2018 12:30

Don’t know whether anybody remembers my saga of dd breaking her elbow a few weeks ago the cast has just been taken off Smile can’t wait to give her a bath tonight Grin

Wineandchoccy · 20/09/2018 12:31

I’m still weeing loads as well

SquirtlesMumAgain · 20/09/2018 12:49

Great news about the cast @wineandchoccy!

I am very lucky that although I am waking a lot at night I'm not having to get up.... Yet!

melissa112 · 20/09/2018 17:21

@Angelmiracle I did think 4 times was a lot but I figure I go to bed so early there's plenty of hours for me to have to wake up. I say wake up, I'm really struggling to stay asleep through the night, but also struggling to stay awake past 7pm. I only started the vimto the other day but may try a different drink and see if that helps

melissa112 · 20/09/2018 17:22

@Wineandchoccy yay for your DDs cast coming off!

Nightmanagerfan · 20/09/2018 17:56

@melissa112 I’m still getting up three or four times to pee - it’s so annoying but nothing we can do I suppose!

Hey everyone

Thank you to those who replied to my question a couple of nights ago. I haven’t been on here since but all seems okay in the BP area!
I had my scan tonight and i officially know what I’m having! Very excited.
A bit of a weird one though... the first thing my partner and I saw was a very creepy face on the baby’s head. I will post the photos with this.. please tell me that everyone else can see it too!?
What the hell is it 😩it’s so creepy

@7415N1d0r1391117 I can’t see anything?? What are you having?
Glad your BP is behaving

7415N1d0r1391117 · 20/09/2018 20:50

I’ve circled the face!
We are having another boy 😍 I thought I might be a little disappointed as I already have two and both my partner and I wouldn’t have minded a girl but I booed my eyes out with happiness. I love him so much already and the feeling of wanting a girl just disappeared πŸ’™πŸ’™

@7415N1d0r1391117 oh I see it now. How lovely I have a dd and I’m really not bothered but would quite like another girl.

Gronk27 · 20/09/2018 21:15

@7415N1d0r1391117 it's when the baby looks straight at the ultrasound, we had it too!

orangekitkat13 · 20/09/2018 22:23

Hi All, I've not been following the last few weeks as been really busy with work. Hope everyone and their beans are doing well.
Is anyone else still feeling sick? I'm 17 weeks now and still feel really sick most of the day, it's really getting me down at times! 😰

BadBadBeans · 20/09/2018 22:46

Okay, so I've just had a letter through the post saying that my blood test showed I have some red blood cell antibodies, and although they are currently very weak I will need to be referred later in pregnancy. They also sent a leaflet but it was mostly explaining about being rhesus negative... And I'm O positive! Anyone had antibodies yet been rhesus positive?!

@Nightmanagerfan I was so thrilled to see your good screening result xx

wordsmithereens · 20/09/2018 23:08

We had our 16 week appointment today and got to listen to little sloth's heartbeat! Apparently it was quite active, kept trying to sneak away from the probe.

1986mumof5 · 21/09/2018 01:19

Hi everyone sorry I've not been on. Only really get a chance when I'm at work as I am now lol. I'm 15+5 on my dates 16+3 on scan dates. I've not been too bad just recently. Still really tired but other kids keeping me busy so not much time to catch up on any sleep.
@ladycarlotta I'm rh negative too (surprised there's so many of us I thought neg blood was quite rare lol) I have needed anti-d at 28 weeks and after birth following all 4 of my pregnancies/labours. I'm assuming this means that all 4 of my children are positive blood but any time I e asked they said they can't tell me which seems weird as surely they wouldn't give the anti-d if they weren't. The first three times was in my bum but the last pregnancy I had both in my arm. Personally I prefer it in my arm as didn't hurt a lot but the bum you could feel the anti-d swirling in your leg if that makes sense. Either way I've never had any issues with rejection in pregnancy.
@ballanj I always ask the midwife at appointments if she can check for heartbeat. I'm aware she may struggle to get it early on and dont worry if she can't but in my experience she's never failed yet past 14 weeks. I suppose this goes for all of you ladies don't ever feel scared or put off asking for anything you feel you want or think you should have at any anti natal appointments. Sometimes midwives are so busy they can forget things or try to rush you out of the door but if you want a specific measurement, hear the heartbeat, blood check etc always always ask. You'll feel better
@wibeandchoccy great news about your daughters cast - I bet she can't wait for the bath too
@buttons2 I think I've had movements. Weird I know as you'd think after 4 kids I'd be sure but those early flutters can always confuse lol
@melissa112 it's a hard one with the peeing. I've had different experiences with all of my pregnancies ranging from no interrupted sleep to getting up every hour or so. I think every woman is different and unfortunately for you this time round your bladder is on active mode lol. Mine is too which is v annoying as my 7 month old has been sleeping through since 3weeks old and my body and brain were used to a full night's sleep again but now I'm up pretty much every night.
Sorry if I missed anyone/anything good luck to all who have scans/appointments coming up xxxxx

MsLioness · 21/09/2018 07:26

Morning ladies, hope you've all had restful nights.

@Melissa112 I know with the peeing all night! I had one good night the other day and thought maybe baby had shifted slightly but last night I was up 4 times again and it takes me so long to get back to sleep with insomnia and being uncomfortable. I might have to break out the crazy pregnancy pillow snake already!

I had my first scan yesterday and feeling good about that, baby was super wriggly and my husband was really excited, I think it feels more real for him now.

I also saw the obstetrician as I had a haemorrhage with my son, I'm trying to stay positive but realistic about labour, still want to try the low intervention route though perhaps it's just amnesia talking because I've honestly blanked out a lot of labour!

ladycarlotta · 21/09/2018 09:35

@1986mumof5 'swirling in your leg?!' waaaa! haha that sounds uncanny. I guess they put a lot in then? I asked my partner's mum about his birth and she was a bit unclear via text but she IS Rh- and his complications were to do with that. He had to have a massive blood transfusion at birth, poor little mite. Can't imagine how scared she was. I'm so grateful they can test for this stuff beforehand nowadays, wouldn't want to go through that down the line.

@7415N1d0r1391117 are you being haunted by Bert from Sesame street?! I'm sure it's nothing, human brains just love to see faces in stuff.

I had an absolutely bizarro dream last night that I went to trim my bikini line, and thought, 'woah, it's been a while!'. My legs right down to the knee were COVERED in thick glossy brown hair, like a carpet of luxurious pubes. What on earth is that about.

ladycarlotta · 21/09/2018 09:36

@MsLioness glad your scan went well!
@wineandchoccy and that your daughter's cast is off! bet she's chuffed.

VillageFete · 21/09/2018 11:11

Will catch up on all messages soon, it’s been a terrible 24 hours. My best friend has cancer, stage 4 bowel that has spread to the liver. I’ve been trying to block it out since I found out I was pregnant but it really hit me yesterday. She’s so frail, not much more than 6 stone. She has an 8 year old son who needs his mum so much. I’m sorry to put a downer on the thread but i’m just heartbroken. I can’t sleep with worry. I honestly believed she’d find a way to beat this but things are going worse on a weekly basis. She’s fucking 36. How is this fair? She doesn’t want to leave her boy Sad

Anyway, sorry to depress everyone but i’m struggling today. I’ve just had my hospital scan, i’m 13 weeks 1 day. Due date is 28th March. Everything looks great. I should be on cloud 9, especially after my 4 years of infertility hell but i’m not? I feel really strange. Maybe it’s because I was with my best mate yesterday and it just hit me? Also, my scan looked so girly last week, this week it’s defo changed to a boy isn’t it? Nub wise? How will she feel about that? I’m having a son and she’s leaving hers? I just feel it would be easier if it was a girl. I know that sounds completely crazy, but that’s how I feel.
