@Gronk27 I highly recommend the Theraline cushion. It's big enough to support you while you sleep and then can be used as a breast-feeding cushion once baby arrives.

puravida31 · 16/09/2018 10:36

Gosh @xxsimonexx you’ve had a busy week! I think my head would be spinning! Huge congratulations to you

Bellendejour · 16/09/2018 10:45

Hello! I just found you guys!
I hope everyone is super well.
I’m 12 weeks, had my scan on weds, all seems to be okay considering I’m 41 πŸ‘΅πŸ» Due date 25th March, first baby eek!

Experiencing a complete shutdown around 9-10 at night, coma like sleep for an hour but then really awake and periodic insomnia argh. Also getting very stressed/anxious about work stuff, is it part of all the hormones? Sad

But on a wee hol now and trying my best to relax and just get excited about tot. Smile

Gronk27 · 16/09/2018 11:56

Welcome @bellendejour the extreme tiredness followed by insomnia seemed to be a first trimester thing for me. I'm 14 weeks now and sleeping more normally again except for getting up once a night for a wee!

I'm pretty sure the hormones will be a factor but try to enjoy your holiday Smile

HidCat · 16/09/2018 14:10

@XxsimonexX wow, talk about getting straight in there! Congratulations on your little boy!

@Bellendejour congratulations and welcome. Unfortunately insomnia is a recurring theme in pregnancy. I hope you manage some R&R in your time off.

Is anyone having any mild cramps, and are these anything to worry about? I sat on the floor brushing the dog this morning for about an hour and a half (long haired German shepherd so lots of fur!) and during and since then (I think but can't remember it before then) I've been getting some cramps in my lower belly, just under my belly button and to the left a little.

They come every few minutes for a while, then a gap, then back again and it's been a couple of hours now. Hoping it's just normal stretching but can't help feeling worried. They aren't very painful but enough to make me react a little.

VillageFete · 16/09/2018 14:58

@Angelmiracle Thanks for updating my stats. I think there’ll be some changes on Friday cos dates don’t add up to me.

I’m just desperate to know if it’s a boy or girl now! It’s all starting to feel real. I think girl is more likely going by the scan.

LittleKitty1985 · 16/09/2018 15:04

@melissa112 I've been having cramps, some quite painful actually. I think it's v normal though

VillageFete · 16/09/2018 15:11

@melissa112 I have very similar to you but mainly in my lower back. I do think it’s just pulling/stretching

Angelmiracle · 16/09/2018 15:27

I head out on Friday night and the thread goes crazy!!

Welcome @NotDoingThat @XxsimonexX @1986mumof5 @7415N1d0r1391117 @Bellendejour

I was so worried about the night time headaches and nausea going to the wedding evening reception. But brought paracetamol with me which eased the headaches and nausea wasn't too bad. Stayed over in an apartment that night with girls from work. It was good fun but very late getting to bed at 4am 😩 Had a nap yesterday and was so so sick when I woke. My uterus felt very tight like it was stretching or something. It maybe was all the dancing.

12 weeks today. Next scan at 13+4 finding it hard still not telling everyone.

When did you all announce to everyone?

OP posts:
Wineandchoccy · 16/09/2018 15:57

@Angelmiracle We didn’t tell anyone until after the scan unfortunately I have had a mmc in the past discovered at a 12 week scan so don’t like telling anyone before I have had the 12 week scan.

Bellendejour · 16/09/2018 16:21

Hey melissa112 I’ve had cramps too on and off, seems to be fairly normal, also sometimes crazy sharp pains when I sneeze which is apparently something to do with ligaments stretching.

I have still to tell people as we went away the day after the (pretty late) scan and I want to tell my mum first before anyone else. So going to phone her from hols Smile

Ah excited about all our little March babies!

melissa112 · 16/09/2018 16:24

Glad to hear the cramps sound normal. I also get really sharp pains in my pelvis when I sneeze, have had them since very early on and don't seem to have eased up much.

@Angelmiracle we told my parents and my nan around 8 weeks in. My mum guessed because of how sick I was. Everyone else we told after the 12 week scan

melissa112 · 16/09/2018 16:26

@XxsimonexX congratulations on your little boy!

NotDoingThat · 16/09/2018 16:32

@Angelmiracle we told everyone pretty much straight away- too stunned to keep it in!

Angelmiracle · 16/09/2018 16:53

I had a scan at 10+2 good heartbeat but too early to go public with it. Think my instinct is right @wineandchoccy wait another 11 days!

It's been the longest wait as we've known since 3+2 πŸ˜‚ But my mum and dad know.

OP posts:
Gronk27 · 16/09/2018 17:11

@shampooeeee thanks I''m check it out!

I know it's listed as a 'normal' pregnancy symptom but the cramping has taken me by surprise with how severe it can be as well. The sneeze and cough ones are so sharp!

VillageFete · 16/09/2018 17:54

I’ve broke the news this weekend to friends and family that didn’t know, as has scan yesterday morning that put me at 12+2 and all the checks looked fine. Got my hospital scan on Friday and then i’ll tell colleagues and anyone else that doesn’t know. I have a noticeable bump so people told me they were suspicious anyway.

Can’t stop looking at my scan, it’s so clear! Just desperate to know the sex now.

Murphyrocks · 16/09/2018 18:08

@Gronk27 I know what you mean, was driving back from a birthday party last night and my belly was so sore I couldn't bend down into the passenger footwell to get my handbag when I parked! I'm sure I didn't have that last time.

Gronk27 · 16/09/2018 18:34

@xxsimonexx what a whirlwind!

Murphyrocks · 16/09/2018 18:59

Also for anyone else with general aches and pains I'd definitely recommend pregnancy yoga, went back on Thursday and doing 20 minutes of yoga poses a day since which has helped a lot.

PartridgeJoan · 16/09/2018 19:16

Glad to hear that people are experiencing similar symptoms! Fingers crossed we all feel amazing and ache-free soon Smile

@HidCat I’m feeling much better now thanks! Heat and massage (indulged in a pregnancy massage on Friday) have been a massive help, as has not commuting for a few days I think! I have a plan of attack for next time now...

@toastfiend are you still feeling those twitchy tummy feelings? I’m having them too! Can’t work out if it’s baby or if it’s just me!

BadBadBeans · 16/09/2018 19:57

Hello all, I haven't caught up on people's news and am absolutely plum tuckered from having flown home solo with DS today (DH remained behind for work). But just did a stupid thing... I leaned into my son's cot to give him a goodnight kiss. Now, I was conscious of my mini bump as I did this, but when I pulled away I realised I had pressed much harder than I had intended and it felt quite sore. But I can't have hurt the baby can I?! I figure some of you guys have said that the sonographers pressed quite hard (although mine didn't I must say)...

Argh what an idiot!

Gronk27 · 16/09/2018 20:02

@badbadbeans I'm not an expert but I think they're very well cushioned in there. I was proper squashed at my scan and there's the little sac, your womb and bones to protect it.
