@toastfiend I used palmers cocoa butter last time and maybe just luck but I only have an odd stretch mark and I looked like a weeble by the end Grin
I used the non scented version though then I didn’t walk around smelling like a chocolate bar

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/09/2018 07:15

Thinking of you @fluffybunnyfluff

Murphyrocks · 13/09/2018 07:25

@toastfiend I made this cream last pg and got not a single stretch mark despite having them from my teens too! Started it again this time from about 8 weeks! thehealthyhoneys.com/diy-stretch-mark-cream/ Also try eating bone broth for the gelatin to help your skin to stretch.

Bluebelltulip · 13/09/2018 07:52

I used Palmer's cocoa butter during pregnancy and bio oil after. This time I'm using bio oil. No idea if it's actually helped. Didn't have any stretch marks with DD until I went over my due date. They have faded quite well.

toastfiend · 13/09/2018 08:05

Thanks all! Palmer's Cocoa Butter definitely sounds like a nicer option so I'll be off to Boots today!

Thinking of you today @Funnybunnyfluff.

toastfiend · 13/09/2018 08:07

And thank you @Murphyrocks too, super impressed with the dedication in making your own! It looks great so I'll give it a go too! I hadn't thought about bone broth either, but thar does make a lot of sense. Smile

ballanj · 13/09/2018 08:14

@toastfiend I think if you use anything that will deeply moisturise the skin and do it daily you could take your pick of products. Although apparently some women are simply prone to stretch marks, creams or no creams. That's not to say I haven't been starting to moisturise my belly every morning now when I shower 😊

Nightmanagerfan · 13/09/2018 08:17

@fluffybunnyfluff thinking of you this morning and hoping for good news. Glad you got an appointment quickly.

Cocoa butter is a good idea. From what I’ve read there’s a genetic element to stretch marks too. Some people get them more than others. I still have some on my thighs from weight loss as a teenager so I’m bound to get lots!

Only 11+4 but I have a definite rounded tummy and am struggling for smart work clothes. My dresses are mostly straight and look awful. I’m interviewing candidates today and spent about half an hour trying on potential outfits last night! I have one pair of acceptably comfy black trousers left.

The H&M by work is shut for refurbishment but as soon as it’s open I’m going to get an online order delivered there and then try it all on one lunchtime.

Anyone else still feeling absolutely exhausted? I was so tired last night after an early start that I was v grumpy with DH, and irrationally cross that our cleaner changed our sheets to some that I find less cosy than the ones that were on the bed. I must be mad as it’s a lovely thing to have done for me!

ballanj · 13/09/2018 08:17

@Gronk27 I know right?! I find it amazing what our bodies are doing in all honesty! What date is your 20 week scan? Mine's 30th October which seems ages away but only 6 weeks now. Off on holiday end of September which I'm counting down to now so will only be 3 weeks away by time we come back. That's so annoying you have to reschedule for work, what is it you do? No way you can squeeze it in at all? Will you be finding out the sex at the scan? I can't not know πŸ˜‚

ladycarlotta · 13/09/2018 09:30

@Nightmanagerfan I'm still more tired than usual, but I think my energy is starting to come back (I'm 15+5). I didn't realise quite how 'phobic' and anxious I was getting about walking to places or doing strenuous activities - it really wiped me out for the day. But I was on Dartmoor over the weekend and managed two walks of about 7 miles each. Granted I conked out for a full 3 hours after one of them, but I wouldn't have even attempted it a few weeks ago.

@MurphyRocks I remember you posting that recipe when we were all really early in our pregnancy, and had been meaning to dig it out again. Thanks for sharing! Might give it a go. @toastfiend I've been using bio oil lately, particularly on my boobs as they've grown to such a crazy extent. I have stretch marks from my teens and would prefer to manage them if I can't stop them entirely. TBH though I think any good moisturiser is probably OK.

Murphyrocks · 13/09/2018 10:27

No worries @ladycarlotta! It's cheaper than the commercial ones and imho the myrrh oil smells amazing! Only takes 30 minute so so to make.

@nightmanagerfan I'm prone to them too and have them on hips and bbs from teens, but didn't get a single one during pregnancy with proper moisturising!

ladycarlotta · 13/09/2018 11:25

ooh, I went out for dinner last night and had my first booze since finding out I was pregnant! Aperol with soda and loads of ice - it was lovely. I hope I didn't horrify my friends but I'd been thinking about it for ages and decided it was time. I think now I'm almost 16 weeks I will have a little glass of something on special occasions. I don't miss drinking or being drunk, rarely drank alcohol at home anyway, and have been perfectly content with a lime and soda in the pub, but there's something nice about having a fancy grown-up drink on an evening out.

Gronk27 · 13/09/2018 12:24

@ballanj supposed to be the 29th I'm an actor by trade but at Halloween I run a scare event! I did think maybe I could run off for a couple of hours. Any idea how long the 20 week scan takes? Part of me thinks having the scan after the Halloween madness means I can just concentrate on Baby!

@toastfiend I put some on the other day think I might get a cream instead I still have stretch marks from growing and weight gain/loss so I'm screwed.

@Nightmanagerfan I went into maternity clothes straight after scan much comfort and you look more pregnant. I was wrecked at 11 weeks, happy to report I'm feeling so much better at 14 weeks. Hold in there.

@ladycarlotta I plan to have one on special occasions.

Funnybunnyfluff · 13/09/2018 12:46

Just to update you all that I am off the March bus.

Really was a shock as the bleed had stopped this morning.

They think I maybe happened about at 6 weeks but my body thought I was still pregnant and only now am I starting to miscarriage.

Thank you all for your support.

toastfiend · 13/09/2018 12:54

Oh @Funnybunnyfluff there are no words that seem adequate but I am so incredibly sorry. Take care of yourself and I hope you have plenty of support around you.

Murphyrocks · 13/09/2018 13:11

@funnybunnyfluff how awful for you I'm so very sorry to hear that. Please take care of yourself.

ladycarlotta · 13/09/2018 13:16

@funnybunnyfluff I'm so, so sorry. Huge hugs to you - wishing you peace and strength going forward.

Shampooeeee · 13/09/2018 13:38

I’m so sorry for your loss @Funnybunnyfluff. Such a sad day for you. I hope you are being well looked after.

frankiefumbles · 13/09/2018 13:43

@ladycarlotta and all you early MARCHERS who might remember me (and to those of you who don't, sorry for gatecrashing)

Ladies. I am absolutely bricking it. I've just had a BFP. Totally unexpected. As you know I'm irresponsible. I got half way around another Ironman and just got waaaaay tired. And lo, I tested and got a positive. I'm a mere 4 days past the period due date and I realise I'm committing all sorts of mumsnet sins by being here...

Naturally I'm petrified it won't stick. But I wanted to come back to my lovely March-ers to say hello. Fingers crossed for a May baby...!

ladycarlotta · 13/09/2018 14:12

@frankiefumbles oh YAY! that's absolutely wonderful news. I was thinking about you just last night, actually, hoping things were OK so this is really great to hear. And it's not a sin to be excited and invested - pregnancy is one big exercise in daring to hope, and you have to just take the risk and go with it. Many many congratulations to you and your May baby, I'm so pleased for you. Keep in touch x

Bluebelltulip · 13/09/2018 14:33

So sorry Funnybunnyfluff that must have been such a shock.

Congratulations @frankiefumbles hope this one sticks

I had my dating scan today and everything is fine, date moved a day but now is 18th.

Bluebelltulip · 13/09/2018 14:34

My paragraphs disappeared!

Murphyrocks · 13/09/2018 14:37

Eeeek @frankiefumbles so lovely to see your moniker again! You have been missed. Massive congratulations on your exciting news! Everything crossed that this one sticks. Another lady from the March bus who unfortunately didn't stick has just had a bfp too with EDD May 19th, maybe there's something in the water!

Wineandchoccy · 13/09/2018 14:44

@Funnybunnyfluff I’m so so sorry take care x

Wineandchoccy · 13/09/2018 14:46

@frankiefumbles what lovely news, Thankyou for coming back and telling us Smile
