@Nightmanagerfan so sorry to hear your dates have been pushed back and I can only imagine the stress you are feeling. I know how easy it is to say but do try to take heart from the wriggly baby you saw on the screen this week. I hope the 10 days pass quickly for you and bring excellent news next week.

Congratulations @melisssa112!

I'm going to ask the midwife about the flu jab at my next appointment next week. Keep joking with my Dad that we'll have to go together because he's an old fart and I'm pregnant! Wish they did sick bug/norovirus immunity, I spend every winter avoiding anyone looking green around the gills like the plague! Everyone in my office seems to have gone down with sore throats, coughs and sniffles this week so I'm trying to steer clear but I'm sure it's coming for me next.

I've been given a pregnancy pillow by a wonderful friend today, it's enormous! Not sure how DH will fit in the bed when he is back from work at the weekend. πŸ˜‚ I'm very excited to try it out. After several weeks of very broken sleep I'm hoping it's the miracle cure I've been looking for!

Jenfur · 10/09/2018 21:44

Congrats @melissa112 its amazing we're at the stage that people are finding out the sex! Can't believe where the time is going

Angelmiracle · 11/09/2018 07:00

Go away insomnia πŸ˜₯ Been up since 5.30am and I can't get over as my tummy is full of wind I probably need to eat but want to sleep a little first. And it seems I now have thrush which is driving me nuts too. DM took my canestan on Friday and I thought lucky for me I haven't had it in a few years now. I used to be plagued with it. Will be heading straight for the chemist once I drop DS to school.

I also have a wedding evening do this Friday with girls from work. My nausea is worst at night I'm not sure how I'll cope being out so late. I havent told these girls yet and we're staying together in an apartment that night. I'm going to have to bring snacks with me to stave off the nausea plus I'm drinking water by the gallon so will need to bring bottles for the apartment. I'd rather not go but it would be so anti-social of me 😏

BadBadBeans · 11/09/2018 07:15

Congratulations @melissa112 - and I'm so glad they didn't have to redraw blood for you. Lovely that you know it's a boy. We found out with the Harmony for DS too but I was interested to find out that our clinic doesn't allow you to requesr it any more - this time round they told us they had removed that option for ethical reasons. I did ask, and yes, it was to prevent people terminating on the basis of sex. Anyway my husband doesn't want to know this time so I wasn't disappointed that we couldn't find out early.

@Nightmanagerfan so sorry that you've been put back a wee way. At least this way you get two scans... but I totally understand you not wanting to have to wait any longer to find out if everything is okay. I hope that a little part of you was maybe prepared that this might be the case and that it wasn't a total shock? It must be extra hard for you. I'm not surprised you are having a bit of a wobble - you've been battling on to get to this point and then to have the goalposts suddenly moved back is so galling. Lots of hugs to you.

Sorry I've been a bit quiet here. Life has been getting on top of me somewhat this last week. Things are a bit better now though and I'm looking forward to my scan. I cannot BELIEVE how much I am showing. There is no hiding it. I did Google 12 weeks pregnant bumps last night and was relieved to see a pic of someone else with a similar body type to me who also had a marked bump at 12 weeks (though on their 3rd baby!). I guess it really is true that once you've had one, the body just pops right out again with the next one! I'm now going to be interested to see if I end up much bigger than with DS, with whom my bump consistently measured inches under what it was supposed to be (leading to a few growth scans) despite him being nearly 9lbs! Or whether I've just popped out early but the bump will then stay the same size for a while as the baby grows to fill the space. Anyone on number 3 who can advise?!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 11/09/2018 08:20

@Angelmiracle I'm suffering from struggling to sleep as well. Well, actually, I can fall asleep no problem. It's staying asleep! I just randomly wake up and then it takes hours to fall back to sleep. Today I woke up at 4 and then finally fell back at about 6 only to have to wake up at 7. I'm a zombie today. Does anyone know when this is supposed to end?

cardboard33 · 11/09/2018 08:36

@assumeitwassomethingclever that's what I want to know too!!! I thought maybe I was over it at the weekend as had two nights in a row where I didn't wake up, but since then I've been back to my now usual self.

Sorry to the people whose dates have been put back. We had an early scan and they put my dates back by a week which I thought would happen due to when I ovulated but it was still awful thinking "I've got to go a whole extra week now" ... I sorta feel like it's worse early on having to repeat weeks as no one else knows about it, although maybe that's naive of me to say at this stage.

We went to Mothercare at the weekend for the first time ever. God there's so much that one can buy for baby!! Looked at the maternity bras and established that my breasts will have to grow a substantial amount to fit in their smallest... Husband enjoyed having an opportunity to make jokes about this though.

The flu jab operates from now (ie early Sept) in my area and you can have it whenever in your pregnancy. I've been offered it for a few years now due to epilepsy but never got around to it (which I know is awful) but will be getting it this year.

Murphyrocks · 11/09/2018 09:01

@BadBadBeans I was MASSIVE at 10-12 weeks but now at 15 weeks I'm actually a little smaller if anything but just neater and more toned so think a lot of it was bloat! Pics attached to corroborate, blue dress at 11 weeks, undies at 15.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 11/09/2018 09:20

@cardboard33 i was the same. I had about 4 days of sleeping through but seem to have fallen off the wagon!
I know what you mean by being a bit deflated after being back dated at your scan. I was put back by 3 weeks on my first scan. Got my second dating scan on Friday and really looking forward to finding out how far gone I actually am!
@Murphyrocks cute bump! Is this your first? X

Murphyrocks · 11/09/2018 09:46

@Assumeitwassomethingclever thankyou! No its my second, I was huge in comparison in the first trimester but probably a similar size to my first now. Wow 3 weeks, that must have been so frustrating!

BadBadBeans · 11/09/2018 09:50

@Murphyrocks thank you for sharing those pictures! Wow yours really has gone down! I think you might be right about the bloat - this morning I don't look anywhere near as obscenely pregnant as i did last night! You've also reminded me that once again I have failed to do weekly bump pics. Must start now!

Murphyrocks · 11/09/2018 09:54

@BadBadBeans yes I'm doing my best to log my bump better this time as it's the last one I'll have! To be fair the bigger one was also taken in the evening and the smaller in the morning and I definitely get bigger through the day! I'd be concerned about the size reduction but I'm feeling movements pretty much daily now so pretty sure he's OK in there!

Jenfur · 11/09/2018 10:00

Scan all good this morning, I'm so thrilled. Baby was being naughty and not lying the right way so involved a lot of wriggling and turning over. Baby finally decided to play ball just when I think the sonographer was going to give up. Now due 23rd March so only 2 days different, which I'm happy with

The March-ers 2019 #5
Angelmiracle · 11/09/2018 10:06

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I thought I was over it too! I went to the bathroom and when I came back to our room all I could smell was garlic coming from DH 😷 which was my own fault for making him peppered chicken for his lunch. I am really struggling with smells. I always had a good sense of smell but it is crazy. I have DH tortured when he cooks bacon, leaves trainers lying around, breathes near me. I was gagging walking past cafes in the town for the smells coming out of them this had better ease off 😣

OP posts:
SquirtlesMumAgain · 11/09/2018 10:33

I'm OK with good smells but any hint of a bad one and I'm retching :( sorry you're suffering too

BadBadBeans · 11/09/2018 10:43

@Angelmiracle @AssumeItWasSomethingClever @SquirtlesMumAgain I'm also still retching at smells. Even stuff like scorched toast. We have a slightly damp utility room and I stuck my head in there last night before bed to check the windows were shut and ended up doing an absolutely massive dry retch!

@Jenfur congratulations on a lovely scan!

@Murphyrocks when did you first start feeling the baby move? I'm 12+3 today and last night I swear I felt a little flurry of kicks after I drank some cold water. Last time I had an anterior placenta and started feeling movement at 18 weeks, so I'm not sure when people start feeling movements normally?

Murphyrocks · 11/09/2018 11:47

@BadBadBeans you're not supposed to be able to feel movements until 16 weeks, often later, but I started feeling the odd movement with ds at 13 weeks and regular ones by 16 weeks, and it's been a couple of weeks earlier this time, think I must be super sensitive! It's unusual but possible to be feeling movement at 12 weeks, particularly if you're not a first time Mum so you know what you're feeling for.

Bluebelltulip · 11/09/2018 11:50

I felt the occasional movement with DD from 14 weeks, this time I've been feeling some since 11 weeks.

Nightmanagerfan · 11/09/2018 12:03

@badbadbeans I did expect the date change but was still shocked for some reason when they pointed it out. I realised today that my previous 12 week scan was actually at 13 weeks, so the difference in size of the baby on the screen was quite pronounced. I feel much more positive about it today, but @cardboard33 you’ve hit the nail on the head – it’s the feeling of doing another week again that is galling and having to wait again to get to 12 weeks and the all clear. Today started with throwing up again and I can’t wait for this stage to be over.

@angelmiracle definitely sleeping strangely too. Last night I dreamt I was June in the Handmaid’s Tale (more of a nightmare) and when that dream finished I was dreaming of very loud gospel music (random) that was β€˜keeping me awake’. All very odd!

@jenfur lovely scan! You must be so pleased.

Kee80 · 11/09/2018 12:06

Hi all is ok if I join. I'm 13 weeks today due 19th March.

@Angelmiracle how are you?

Angelmiracle · 11/09/2018 12:17

Hi @Kee80 so good to hear from you πŸ‘‹πŸ˜€ How have you and baby been keeping?

I'm great! Had my booking in last week and scan which pushed my dates back a week 😣 So I'm 11+2 now and we are having a scan with consultant in 2 weeks so will wait until then before telling everyone. It was lovely to see a heartbeat. Nausea is much worse at night but can eat a bit more during the day! How are you symptom wise?

OP posts:
Murphyrocks · 11/09/2018 12:18

Congrats @jenfur and welcome @Kee80!

Angelmiracle · 11/09/2018 12:23

@BadBadBeans @Angelmiracle @AssumeItWasSomethingClever @SquirtlesMumAgain I'm going through a lot of bleach febreeze and zoflora πŸ˜‚

Great scan @jenfur lovely pic of baby πŸ˜€

Great figure @Murphyrocks and lovely bump. I am only 11+2 but I am very sensitive to everything down there too and trying to pay attention at night to feel anything although midwife said placenta is anterior at the minute so might be a while. I can feel the burning cyst on my ovary more than anything!
