Just caught up after working Monday-Monday (tomorrow) this week. Lots of time off next week thankfully! We want to find out. I don't like surprises and I want time to get to use to the idea or boy or girl.

@toastfiend so glad all is ok.

@nightmanagerfan your description of diet is exactly the same except swap orange for apple!

I haven't been able to get to Lidl but hoping they have something left on Tuesday!

Been getting cracking headaches-a result of back pain and tension maybe. Missing ibuprofen! I think I'm feeling generally better though, less sickness and tiredness. I look much more pregnant (and better!) in maternity clothes, I am worrying about piling on the pounds but hey ho whatever gets me through at the moment.

Nightmanagerfan · 09/09/2018 21:41

@gronk27 gosh that was a long week for you! Hope you’re feeling ok.

If you do get to Lidl my advice is to size up in everything- I’m a 10/12 and all the small stuff I got (saying 10/12 on pack) is tight already. I got medium (14/16) sports leggings and could have done with bigger! Maybe I’m getting fatter than I realise due to aforementioned diet, but even so! The jeans are the best as are the nursing cami tops and leggings.

Jenfur · 10/09/2018 08:05

Thanks all for your lovely words and support last week, its so nice to have an understanding place to moan. I worked half of Thursday after being awake since 4am but told my boss and 2 colleagues about baby and they were all so thrilled. Boss was more than fine with me leaving early when I said how awful I was feeling so I've had a nice long weekend to recover and start to feel better.
Congrats to all with their scans last week and good luck to those having them today. I'm booked in for tomorrow morning - anyone else?

Nightmanagerfan · 10/09/2018 09:45

@jenfur so glad your work have been understanding. Hope you are feeling better.

Just back from scan - psyched ourselves up and had the usual hassle trying to get blood, only to be told my dates are wrong and I’m on 11+1 so too early for nuchal and full scan. We did see a wriggly baby and heard a normal heartbeat but I’m very disappointed not to get the all clear today. Back again next Wednesday

SquirtlesMumAgain · 10/09/2018 11:46

How far out from your days is that @Nightmanagerfan?

Nightmanagerfan · 10/09/2018 11:56

@squirtlesmumagain my dates said I was 12+3 so just over a week out. I was pregnant quite quickly after previous termination for medical reasons so I think my cycle was messed up, and @badbadbeans did point out on another thread that I was a week behind so she was right all along! I’m just so stressed because of what happened last time that I wanted it all to be ok today so I could relax. New scan date 10 days away - feels like forever

VillageFete · 10/09/2018 12:06

@Nightmanagerfan How frustrating. Glad to hear there was a healthy heartbeat though

Just had my booking in appt. Got to go for all my bloods tomorrow. My 12 week scan (i’ll act be 12+4 or 12+5) is next Friday 21st Sept. Maybe i’ll finally breathe a sigh of relief after this scan and really believe i’m pregnant!

The midwife mentioned the flu jab (I have asthma anyway so always have it) Is anyone else having it? Not to be completely irrational, but I started to think can it cause any issues once it crosses the placenta?

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2018 12:12

@VillageFete
I was told about the flu jab and whooping cough. I am definitely having both jabs when available.

@Nightmanagerfan sorry to hear your dates have been pushed back. My scan is 20th first scan and I just need to know there is a baby in there and is well.

Bluebelltulip · 10/09/2018 12:27

@Villagefete I already get the flu jab too and had it when pregnant with DD. I wouldn't necessarily recommend having the flu and whooping cough ones at the same time as last time I did, they put them in separate arms and I found it difficult to sleep with two sore arms.

@BadBadBeans I think it was you who recommended them, my cheeky wipes arrived last week and have already converted my sceptical DH.

Murphyrocks · 10/09/2018 12:29

How frustrating for you @nightmanagerfan but at least a bit of reassurance for you.

@Villagefete I had the flu jab last time and will this time too - flu can be quite dangerous for both you and the baby AFAIK there's no issues with the vaccine impacting the baby. This has been mentioned on a couple of Facebook pregnancy forums I'm on and people have unanimously come back saying yes get it done, including nurses etc.

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2018 13:19

@Bluebelltulip
Thank you for that advice on the jabs. Not something I would have realised.

Nightmanagerfan · 10/09/2018 13:32

Thanks all. I think I need to get a grip and accept its good news to have seen baby and heartbeat. My DH just said he thinks it could be delayed grief from the previous pregnancy. Gosh this is all so stressful isn’t it.

I’ll definitely get the flu jab. Flu can be v dangerous for pregnant women. Friend who is an a&e doctor has many horror stories of flu in pregnant women.

Wineandchoccy · 10/09/2018 13:53

@VillageFete I’m getting the flu jab I’m booked in next Monday for it. We really don’t want flu whilst pregnant of with a newborn

LittleKitty1985 · 10/09/2018 13:54

I'm definitely going to get the flu jab. I have my second meeting with my midwife tomorrow and will ask her when's the best time to get it. What else should I be asking her at this stage?

Murphyrocks · 10/09/2018 14:07

I just called my doctors to book in my flu jab (this thread finally prompted me to do so!) but they won't do it until 20 weeks? Is this the same as in other areas?

@nightmanagerfan I can understand that; being pregnant again has brought up a lot of unresolved feelings from DH's stay in ICU after his birth and I've been referred to counselling to work through some of that so it hopefully doesn't play on my mind during the birth of this little one. Do seek help if you think it would be useful to chat things through.

Bluebelltulip · 10/09/2018 14:50

@MurphyRocks flu jab can be done at any point in pregnancy as it's seasonal as far as I'm aware but whooping cough is after 20 weeks, were you trying to book both?

Murphyrocks · 10/09/2018 14:55

@Bluebelltulip no just the flu jab - ds is eligible too so was trying to book our flu jabs at the same time. I'm 15 weeks and they couldn't book it until next month anyway when I'll be 19+4 so hopefully they won't worry about a few days! Not even sure if they'll offer the whooping cough one again as I had it probably 2 1/2 years ago with last pg.

Bluebelltulip · 10/09/2018 15:04

That's odd, hope they don't quibble over a few days. I was told to get it as soon as I can. I asked my midwife about the whooping cough as I had it for my daughter 2 years ago but she said I still needed another.

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2018 17:33

In our area they don't offer the flu jab until October to anyone.

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2018 18:20

Has anyone seen the pics of a lady called Maria expecting triplets online?

Google, Maria 33 expecting triplets...

They bump is scary!!!

Murphyrocks · 10/09/2018 19:11

@funnybunnyfluff yes I've seen it, showed dh he thought it was fake! It looks so painful.

Looks like the jabs are another thing without much consistency across the country then!

melissa112 · 10/09/2018 19:19

Heard back from the NIPT today. All results low risk, will get the actual figures tomorrow. Also found out we are having a baby boy. I'm so happy!

Hope all is ok with everyone, will check in properly tomorrow. Been manic at work today and I'm already wanting my bed!

Wineandchoccy · 10/09/2018 20:04

@Funnybunnyfluff when I was expecting dd a lady was pregnant with triplets I have never seen a bump like it she was huge. She has 3 girls who are adorable and so well behaved they make my dd look feral Grin

Funnybunnyfluff · 10/09/2018 20:27

@Wineandchoccy
Lol you made me laugh.

That bump looks so painful, I'm shocked she could stand up, looks like she would fall over.
I'm stressing about having my first baby let alone 3.

Murphyrocks · 10/09/2018 20:32

Congrats @melissa112 that's excellent news on both counts!
