Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

@IndiX @Baby160P according to the nub theory I am also having a boy! To join my 2 boys!
Has anyone done the nub theory and then had the opposite of what it said?
Of course I don't mind either way but I'm so excited to know! My scan isn't until 12th October though!

hayley013 · 31/08/2018 12:12

Oh I'd love a little boy, only because I've got a girl, I'm not fussed either way, DD is praying for a girl, we find out tomorrow!! Excited and slightly nervous, think it will just make it so much more real xx

hayley013 · 31/08/2018 12:14

Thanks guys, I thought sciatica too. I'm gonna mention to midwife on Tuesday at 16w appt as I'd like to avoid it becoming much worse if it's just a case of doing some specific exercises xx

DragonFlew · 31/08/2018 12:16

@hayley013 how exciting - let us know how it goes!

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 31/08/2018 12:31

@DragonFlew I'm rubbish at nub theory! Can never tell.

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 12:51

I posted on a nub site thing and got early girl with time to develop so who knows lol. I'm happy either way. Hubby would love another little boy (obviously not really bothered). We find out on his birthday which is cute but not until 18th September! Can't wait now x

DragonFlew · 31/08/2018 13:10

@mrssnootypants @yakadee yes I posted on a Facebook site for nub theory 'experts' to guess. I actually posted on 4 site and 3 said boy and one said they couldn't tell.

Then I posted old ones of my cousins baby and my friends to try and test them and they got them right 😂

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 13:23

@DragonFlew - I've seen they really do get the majority right. I suppose mine is still 50/50 x

Tumon · 31/08/2018 14:13

Is anyone else not finding out the sex? We didn’t for first and not going to for this one either!

Notquiteagandt · 31/08/2018 14:14

@DragonFlew what sites where they?

I posted on one. And my scan photos are super clear. I could see more than most other peoples blurry ones.

But they said they couldnt tell so kean to try others.

Im thinking a girl. No reason why. Just felt it since start.

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/08/2018 14:20

I find out the sex a week tomorrow! I'm nervous as I know I'll be happy and disappointed either way, and knowing me and my pregnancy hormones I'll focus on the disappointment!

I think, secretly, I'll be happier overall if it's a girl, as I have DS. But then I'll still be disappointed that DS won't get a brother.

I'm going to a friend's tonight and she has a bottle of nice champagne leftover from her anniversary, so I've decided to treat myself to half a glass topped with OJ to make Buck's Fizz! Has anyone else had a small drink this pregnancy? I was really strict with DS and literally had a thimble-full of prosecco once, then one glass on Christmas Eve when I was already in labour!

lanalawr · 31/08/2018 14:24

We're not planning to either @Tumon. We also didn't for dd. I'll be happy either way but having grown up with a sister would like dd to experience that. She says she wants it to be a boy though. Either way we don't mind.

Fredthespider · 31/08/2018 14:29

I think mine is a girl, but then when I took a 'test' on one of the sites I got about half wrong haha. I'll hopefully find out on the 18th so same day as @Yakadee

DragonFlew · 31/08/2018 14:58

@notquiteagandt just Facebook search nub theory and loads of groups come up!

DragonFlew · 31/08/2018 15:01

@Lookingforadvice123 having 2 boys already I did want a girl this time however now I've convinced myself this one is also a boy I'm excited to be the queen of the family haha! I'm far more bothered about having a happy healthy baby than whether it's a boy or a girl. I'm already so in love with him/her!
Ds1 and ds2 both wanted a brother too, and at least I know what I'm doing with a boy!

jeanzbeanz · 31/08/2018 15:01

@Lookingforadvice123 I've had a tiny glass of wine (with food) a few times.

@tumon we're not finding out. Although I'm getting so excited to know, that I might change my mind and convince my husband that we should!

DragonFlew · 31/08/2018 15:02

We're going to need another new thread soon aren't we! Will that be number 7?!

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 16:14

@Fredthespider - aww, scan buds! I really ding have a preference, just excited to know which. I have a feeling it's a girl, no idea why? X

welshweasel · 31/08/2018 16:27

Can’t remember who posted about the Black jojo dungarees but thanks - bought some today and they are super comfy and actually quite flattering, who’d have thought?! Fairly uninspired by maternity clothes in general though, anyone found any other good buys?

Surprisedmom · 31/08/2018 16:31

@welshweasel I have actually found eBay to be pretty good if you don’t mind second hand. I tend to just search maternity and my size then lost it by ending soonest and a price limit. That way i’ve picked up a few dresses for a £5 and things like a smart work shirt. They’ve all come in good condition and i’m happy with them :-)

Good to hear jeanzbeanz!

dragonflew oh of course my only real concern is a healthy baby. But I am worried about how ill feel, either way, knowing this is 110% our last baby. I genuinely didn't give a monkeys with DS (although I knew he was a boy from the off).

powkin · 31/08/2018 21:27

Hi everyone. So, we got the CVS result back earlier than we expected. No Triploidy, Downs, Edwards or Patau. Still don’t know what’s caused the crazy crazy hormone levels but I suspect my kidneys are the problem. The GP was meant to have sent me for a scan weeks ago but I chased today and she had forgotten to do the paperwork so they sent it today.

I am obviously enormously relieved but still feel nervous about the hormone levels and whether there is something else wrong that they can’t measure with the CVS. I’ll see the consultant for another scan on the 13th September for 16 weeks and then have another scan again at 20 weeks so maybe I’ll feel a bit safer once I reach that milestone and things are OK. It’s been such an upsetting and exhausting rollercoaster and there’s still no “answers” so I feel like I can’t fully relax.
So, good news for now at least but still scared!
