New thread ladies after the last one only lasted 2 weeks Grin
Not sure about you all but I'm definitely feeling a lot better now at 14 weeks. Let's hope it lasts!! As you were.....

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking. Ah your bump is soooo cute. I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow and I’d love to have an obvious pregnancy bump. I still look just a little bit chubby around the tummy. Need to wear a tight t shirt for it to be a noticeably pregnant tummy!

DragonFlew · 30/08/2018 20:04

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking lovely bump! Mine is biggest of an evening when I've got a belly full of food haha! Think it's becoming slowly obvious

Yakadee · 30/08/2018 20:11

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - what an adorable bump - wish mine looked as nice 😊

How is everyone tonight?

I'm not sure if we already mentioned this (prego brain!) but I haven't bothered with stretch mark stuff as got loads with my first pregnancy even though I used it religiously. Should I bother? I feel bad not doing anything. Only thing I liked before was bio oil but it was so expensive. What do you guys think? Xx

bubblybrit · 30/08/2018 20:24

@Yakadee. This is my first baby so can’t comment on its effectiveness but I did buy bio oil. However, I’ve not used it get so feel a bit guilty. I’ve been so tired in the evening that I’ve just wanted to sleep from 9pm onwards lol! Interested to hear what others have to say.....

DragonFlew · 30/08/2018 20:25

@yakadee I didn't bother with my second and won't this time. I've got some from first preg & as you know they do fade and I used bio oil afterwards but I don't believe it did anything!

The stretch marks from my 1st faded to silver and then when I was pregnant 2nd time they turned the deeper pink colour but I didn't get more and they weren't any bigger - despite DS2 being over 2lb heavier than DS1!

DragonFlew · 30/08/2018 20:26

I think if you're going to get stretch marks you're going to get stretch marks. And there's nothing you can do to prevent them!
Be proud of them x

Baby160P · 30/08/2018 20:27

@Yakadee all good here thanks.

Had the dentist today as teeth been very sensitive and had to have my one and only filling removed and redone. Mouth currently numb still 😩

Plus side my lovely dentist swapped it for a white one as he said we don't pay anyway!

Yakadee · 30/08/2018 20:39

Thanks everyone. Don't think I'll bother then. I'm covered from first time but they did fade. I'm defo someone who gets them so probably no point lol xx

GemmaK1 · 30/08/2018 20:48

@Notasgreenascabbagelooking - lovely bump, definitely pregnant!! :)

hayley013 · 30/08/2018 21:28

I read an article somewhere about stretch marks being genetic. I've got a small bottle of bio oil, wasn't too pricey, used it with dd purely because it was lovely to rub in after a shower, kept my skin soft.

I'm aching bad today, wonder if anyone can relate? If I stand still for long periods, ie more than 5 mins, I get a shooting pain right at the bottom of my back, kind of top of my left bum cheek, and same happens lying down in bed. Tonight my hips feel really stiff and achey too. I had spd with dd but can only remember having pain round the front down in pelvic area xx

Yakadee · 30/08/2018 21:30

@hayley013 - sounds related to your siatic nerve? That's between your back and bum I believe - take it easy. X

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 30/08/2018 21:31

@hayley013 that's exactly the same as my pain!!! It's like I've broken half my arse.

Lulabell1 · 30/08/2018 22:24

I dont beleive anything works for sterchmarks unless you get them lazered off! I tried every cream and oil known to man when pregnant and still got them from 30weeks my mum and nan both had them so defo think its a hereditary thing also! I was lucky i only got them around my belly button and they shrunk after a year but noticed the other day they are looking a bit pink again

IndiX · 31/08/2018 06:48

Hi ladies,
I've been very quiet on here but been trying to have a little read when I get the chance.
I hope you're all doing well!
@hayley013 I get the same thing, it's sciatica. By the end of my first pregnancy with DD it was agony some days. All you can do is rest when you can and take paracetamol, I also found heat sometimes helped like a hot water bottle.
@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking lovely bump!! I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and definitely don't look pregnant yet just a bit thicker round the waist 😏

Also on Wednesday we found out we're having a little boy! I'm so delighted and can't wait for our DD to meet him. Its going to be strange having boy things around, our whole lives are pink! 😂

Lulabell1 · 31/08/2018 07:18

Welcome @indix im the same i dont no what to do with a little boy i have DD and 7 nieces!!

I keep having very scary dreams and they feel very real!!

Also keep thinking about giving birth im making my anxiety go through the roof it wasnt like this last time but i suppose its because i know what to expect this time, i need to stop!

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 07:18

@IndiX - a little boy, lovely! I already have a 2.5yo boy and he's amazing! You'll love it xxx

Surprisedmom · 31/08/2018 09:00

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking
What a lovely bump! It must be nice to be obviously pregnant looking, even just having the baby on board badge when travelling the other day made people much nicer to me and much more smiley (IMO). I imagine looking pregnant means people are the same.

@Yakadee I have been using cocoa butter for stretch marks, but also really to just keep my skin moisturised. From what I read stretch marks are largely hereditary, but keeping hydrated helps your skin and not gaining weight too rapidly helps a bit too.

Yakadee · 31/08/2018 09:07

@Surprisedmom - I used some the other day (just because I had some) and apparently I hate the smell? Lol.

I'm defo looking pregnant - even my husband commented on how I suddenly look really pregnant x

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/08/2018 09:10

I used the Cocoa Butter for stretch marks and didn't get a single one, but I do think it's hereditary. However I know people who didn't get any on their first but did on their second! So I really need to start watching my diet/weight gain...

jeanzbeanz · 31/08/2018 10:09

Does anyone know when it is recommended to sleep on your left side? I always used to, but since becoming pregnant I seem to only be able to sleep on my back 🙄 I've bought a dreamgenii pillow to try and help but not getting on very well with it so far!

Some websites seem to say 20 weeks and as far as I can see the NHS site just says "in later stages".

I'm waking up with a sore back, so really wish I could break the habit somehow.

twiglet · 31/08/2018 10:17

I go by Tommy's which says 28 weeks but it can take some training to do therefore I've started a few weeks ago trying to sleep on my left. I usually end up sleeping on my right or back instead hence training.....

jeanzbeanz · 31/08/2018 10:55

Thanks @twiglet that's reassuring. I'll keep trying to change my habits but won't panic about it just yet!

bubblybrit · 31/08/2018 10:55

@IndiX. Congratulations on having a beautiful baby boy! You must be so excited 😀

Baby160P · 31/08/2018 11:25

I've been trying to sleep on my left, it does say from 28 and it doesn't matter if you wake on your back or other side.

I've also read on your back would be fine if you pop a pillow under your right hip so it slightly tilts your pelvis. Could be a good start?

Baby160P · 31/08/2018 11:26

There seems to be a lot of boy babies on here 😍
