@DragonFlew
Good luck with your scan xx

DragonFlew · 15/08/2018 08:38

@lanalawr DS1 & DS2 were born in February & January. At the end I lived in UGG boots, so comfy and wide. But you forget how hot you get. Definitely invest in a good maternity coat, because you can wear it afterwards too.
Yes to leggings! Again they're great for afterwards too!
The range of maternity wear us so much better than it was. There's often a lot of nice stuff on eBay if you don't want to spend loads too!

DragonFlew · 15/08/2018 08:39

@Alicejj8x @bubblybrit thank you. I'm trying not to get too excited - just in case, but I'm not doing a very good job. I can't wait!!

Alicejj8x · 15/08/2018 08:47

@DragonFlew
Your be just fine :) is it this morning or afternoon?? I'll be thinking off you & keeping everything crossed xxx

pushit · 15/08/2018 08:49

@MrsY87 hello! When did you find out? I only found out yesterday. I'm still in shock. Not sure of the short hand but my twins are in separate sacs with their own placentas.

I have a nearly 3yr old already. Do you have any other children? X

emalady · 15/08/2018 08:51

Can't believe we are on a new thr already! Have we given up on the role call?

Ema, 34, DC 1, Ivf and due 6/2/19

@powkin if you keep having mixed growth have they discussed getting the best possible sample from you? Sometimes its that simple.

@baby1060hp glad everything is OK, brilliant news! You recovering OK?

Got over excited yesterday and think I can take basically all of 2019 off, just work the first 2 weeks of January. I didn't think I would be able to afford that much. How is planning going?

Morning sickness seems to be finally getting better but not fully settled. Grr.

Anyone else getting super horny +/- very vivid dreams?!

Bluelagoon25 · 15/08/2018 08:52

Due date of 4th Feb 😍👶🏼

powkin · 15/08/2018 09:03

@emalady - yeah they have. I think as I’m weeing so often maybe I’m just not letting enough ‘go’ as I worry I’m going to run out of wee!

Far TMI at this time of the day, or ever. Being pregnant brings up so many unexpected conversations!

Surprisedmom · 15/08/2018 09:04

@emalady I definitely have the vivid dreams. Had a very vivid dream about being on the sinking titanic today - my main concern was that in the Victorian times women didn’t wear trousers and that’s all I had to wear so I don’t think I was taking the whole sinking ship thing too seriously Hmm

Babybeany · 15/08/2018 09:04

Morning mummies, I have been a bit absent the last couple of weeks. We had our dating scan last Friday and all looks great in there! Did anyone else’s sonographer suggest what gender they thought baby could be? I didn’t think it was possible so early!
When are people thinking of starting their maternity leave? I have quite an active job, lots of lifting, carrying, jumping and dancing so I’m not sure how far I will be able to go. Just curious as to what others are likely to do x

NurseB · 15/08/2018 09:20

Hi all! Been watching you all but too scared to post! I'm an oldie at 43yrs with baby no.1. Due 16th Feb and so far so good! Any other 'older' mums out there like me? Xxx

DragonFlew · 15/08/2018 09:23

@Alicejj8x thank you. It's at 11 x

Baby160P · 15/08/2018 09:37

Just marking my spot on the new thread... had a follow up midwife appointment yesterday and was weighed again iv lost 6kg which is just over a stone in the space of 3 and a half weeks all due to sickness....the midwife said well done? Im not overweight so i took it a bit personal but i guess its common if your being as sick as me anyone else lost weight?

Lulabell1 · 15/08/2018 10:07

@babybeany i didnt work when i was pregnant with dd1 but midwife said you can leave as early as 3months before due date. Im a manager of a busy hair salon and i dont get lunch breaks i work 10 hours a day so im just going to push it for as long as i can hoping im not as big this time as i was before or doubt i will fit behind the sink to wash clients hair Grin

thismeansnothing · 15/08/2018 10:09

@lanalawr DD was supposed to be a Feb baby (ended up march) but I have a job that involves living in sports wear so trainers were ideal. Had sporty practical ones for work but more retro ones for with jeans. I didn't really suffer with my feet though, think with all the exercise it really helped with circulation

thismeansnothing · 15/08/2018 10:15

@babybeany I have an active job too. On my feet alot with exercise classes, community events etc. With DD I worked till 35weeks ish cos I had leave to tag on at the start. Was ok but with her being so late it was a loooooong 7 weeks with not much to do.

I was bored in work yday so was working out mat leave etc. Im able to take the full 12 months this time which I wasn't in a position to do with DD. And with it being a Feb baby it's so close to the end of the financial year so with bank holidays and annual leave I'll have accrued while on mat leave I can tag that on the end so don't have to go back till 1/4/2020 . Then worked out with annual leave I have left from this year plus the 12 month may leave I can finish on 9th Jan.

I'm on countdown already!

lanalawr · 15/08/2018 10:54

Thanks @DragonFlew I'll keep an eye out for deals on coats/wide boots. I'm hoping I'll actually get away with most of my summer mat stuff by sticking a cardi over the top so shouldn't need to buy too many clothes. Good luck for your scan today!

@thismeansnothing I'm liking the trainers idea but not sure I'll get away with it for work (I work in an office but it's just normal smartish work stuff not crazy corporate very smart with heels luckily). I'm hoping they don't get as bad as last time just because it'll be colder.

Brilliant news about your leave @thismeansnothing! That's an amazing length of time. I'm planning to take 12 months again and will probably finish at the end of Jan when I'll be 39 weeks. Not looking forward to soggy squashed trains but it'll be worth it to have the time after the baby is born.

lanalawr · 15/08/2018 10:54

Bold fail - sorry.

Lookingforadvice123 · 15/08/2018 10:59

Place marking.

Being weighed at the scan yesterday was a wake up call, I don't know what my weight was exactly before I got pregnant but I reckon I've put on up to 10lbs, at 13 weeks. Not surprising with my hideous diet since I've had morning sickness. So today is the new pregnant me as I don't want to become a whale!

Just did my first thing of Couch to 5k, and am going to make a conscious effort to eat better. I seem to feel sick regardless of what I eat these days so it might as well be healthy. Made myself an old favourite of porridge (made with soya milk as I can't stomach dairy right now) and raspberries Grin

AliceRR · 15/08/2018 11:13

I like the trousers I have from New Look. They look almost like thick leggings but on they look like skinny trousers and v comfortable. I’m a lawyer and work in an office and get away with them.

I am having lots of vivid dreams too - every night! Wonder why we dream more or have more memorable dreams when pregnant?

Good luck @DragonFlew

Baby160P · 15/08/2018 11:37

@AliceRR did you get them recently?

Being signed off with my neck is lethal now eve had our 12 week scan 😂🙈

Notquiteagandt · 15/08/2018 11:58

@Lulabell1 I have lost around 8kg also at my lowest. Have put a KG on though now.

Are they monitoring your weight loss?

I have been placed as high risk (consultant led) due to mine. Extra growth scans booked. Dietician for weight gain advice and perscriptions. As well as extra weighing and measurements with the midwife.

Seems rather dismissive of your midwife!! Not to mention bloody rude!!

Have they offered anything to help the sickness?
