hayley013 I get you, our surname is S too and one of the choices we had for DS and which we decided against for that very reason was Lucas. With the surname it wouldn't have been clear whether it was Lucas or Luca.

DragonFlew · 29/08/2018 09:15

@gemmak1 due date buddies!! How are you feeling?
I've been alright for a few weeks.now but then yesterday morning And today I've thrown up everywhere!

hayley013 · 29/08/2018 09:18

@Lookingforadvice123 yeah that's exactly what I mean. We have a gender scan on Saturday at mothercare so we'll soon be able to narrow it a little. With DD we found out her sex at 20w and she still wasn't names until 10 days old 😂 it's such a huge decision xx

DragonFlew · 29/08/2018 09:18

@jesscaar it's not impossible but first pregnancies is usually a bit later. I was about 21 weeks first time, but DH couldn't feel it through my tummy until 23 weeks.

Second time I was 16 weeks, it was the day before my 16w appt at the mw!

Lookingforadvice123 · 29/08/2018 09:27

Jesscaar I was 16 weeks feeling my first Smile

@Alicejj8x ah that's lovely. I am trying not to buy anything until after we move house which should be by beginning of December!

MakeLemonade · 29/08/2018 11:47

Another day and another trip to hospital for bleeding. They can’t find any cause and it’s really getting me down, I just can’t relax 😔

DragonFlew · 29/08/2018 12:09

@MakeLemonade it must be so worrying. But at least you know all is ok x

twiglet · 29/08/2018 13:05

😢 What is it about being pregnant that makes people feel the need to comment?
1 Colleague said today that my bump is like hers when she was going on maternity leave.... I'm already self conscious as it seems to be sitting up high and I've gone up 4 inches on my back due to rib move.
Then to add to it another said she had known for ages as I was getting a podge a few weeks ago.... I eat salad for lunch!
Yes I'm showing very early but there isn't much I can do about it or where the bump sits......

Picklesandpies · 29/08/2018 13:25

Has anyone here got an anterior placenta and felt their baby move yet? Guessing it's too early (I'm 17 weeks today.)

On a different note, my 16 week check turned into a 6 hour stay at hospital yesterday. Had such a bad pain right hand side of stomach. They were concerned it was appendix (the most common surgery whilst pregnant is appendix removal.) It's still there but maybe not quite as bad. Hoping it just disappears on its own.

Have low ferritin - what iron tablets are best? I really don't want to add constipation to the list! Smile

DragonFlew · 29/08/2018 13:25

@twiglet I was also conscious of my small bump with my first and then when he was born he was very underweight. So second time I was very rude to people that would comment on the size of my bump.

Sometimes people comment out of jealousy, perhaps they wish they were pregnant and so feel the need to criticise to try and make themselves feel a bit better.

Be proud of your Bump, big or small. Your body is doing something amazing!

DragonFlew · 29/08/2018 13:29

@picklesandpies oh dear, glad everything is ok.
As for iron supplements, id recommend Floradix which is a liquid. Take it with orange juice or something rich in vit C and try to avoid caffiene as this inhibits iron absorption.
Iron supplements can make your poo really dark so don't be alarmed! Keep up fibre and water intake too

Alicejj8x · 29/08/2018 13:29

@DragonFlew
Ahh yeah I don't blame
You :) I've got my list of things I need to get from google ahaha and just ticking off one at a time lol

lanalawr · 29/08/2018 13:32

@Picklesandpies That sounds horrible! Hopefully the pain subsides soon. I'd recommend Spatone for iron. It's not cheap but is really good. It's a liquid in little sachets.

Leonora94 · 29/08/2018 13:52

@twiglet I strongly believe that most people are just completely clueless around pregnant women and have no idea what to say....some one at work said I'd look like the Octo mum by Christmas. What are you suppose to say to that?! No one really likes people commenting on their body...never have done and never will - especially when preggers!

Alicejj8x · 29/08/2018 13:55

@UndercoverLauren
Oh no I totally understand :) thanks for the info xxx

jeanzbeanz · 29/08/2018 13:59

Let us know how you get on, @powkin

Yakadee · 29/08/2018 14:12

Hope everyone is OK and feeling better soon.

I actually felt baby kick today for the first time. I had been feeling a bit of movement but it was 4 little kicks in a row - was very welcome as I was in a 3 hour meeting - yawn! Xx

Baby160P · 29/08/2018 14:39

I have anterior placenta but 15w tomorrow and no kicking yet. Should be around 20 weeks so a bit later

AliceRR · 29/08/2018 15:49

How do you all know about your placenta positon?

powkin · 29/08/2018 16:06

Hi all.
So my Hcg levels are ridiculously high (almost 12 at 13+0) so they suspect Edwards. Scan looked normal so that wasn’t any help. I had to have a CVS which was not fun at all. I’ll find out next week and then it’ll be either monitoring closely for rest of pregnancy or surgical termination.
Going on holiday on Saturday so absolutely terrible timing.
As the results of the bloods are so bad I’m not feeling hopeful.

Alicejj8x · 29/08/2018 16:08

@AliceRR
I think when you have had a scan they should write it down on your notes? X

Alicejj8x · 29/08/2018 16:08

@powkin
Oh bless you my fingers are crossed for you Hun x

AliceRR · 29/08/2018 16:11

@Powkin So sorry to hear you are going through this. Wishing you the best possible outcome.

@Alicejj8x I will check tonight... Yoga instructor mentioned this as well...
