@Badbadbeans I've been using disposable wipes for DD but I'm getting more interested in re useable. Did you need to get extra wipes? 25 doesn't seem a lot.

Hi everyone, I’m hopping over here from the March thread on the pregnancy board, hope that’s ok.

I’m due 30/03/19 with dc3

@Bluebelltulip when we got them there was an offer on with the kit that gave us 10 extra minky wipes. So we had 35 in total (25 of them were the cotton flannel ones) and that did seem to be enough! You only really need to use one wipe per change, unless you have a particularly explosive poo, as you can fold them in half as you go and wipe again with a clean section. Mind you, I was still doing a laundry load of towels / wipes every second day. I also didn't mind chucking them in the wash with our bath towels but other people might be bothered by that I suppose?

Also, I tried reusable nappies but didn't get on with them. I had got them second hand and they leaked through the fabric horrendously; I was having to change DS's whole outfit with every nappy change. I was v disappointed as I had hoped to do reusable, but was sufficiently stung that I was unwilling to fork out again for a new lot.

There are often local nappy libraries where you can join for a small fee and then borrow small sets of reusable nappies to try out. Ask your health visitor or have a rummage around on Facebook. By the time I figured out this was a possibility, I was having a load of post-natal anxiety struggles and decided that I didn't want to load myself further by trying reusables out again. But I might do it this time round!

@BadBadBeans thank you, I think as the idea will be use them for DD and new baby I'll probably get some more. I don't think it'll add too much to the washing that I'll be doing anyway.

@BadBadBeans thank you, that's really helpful. I could definitely sew waterproof pouches - have done similar before - and frankly I've been looking for an excuse to get an overlocker for ages, but also... life's probably too short, esp with so much that needs doing to the house. I'll probably get the kit. Can definitely see them being useful for wiping faces and hands forever.

@ladycarlotta I didn’t use the mucky tub because I just chucked them in with the nappy bucket. I asked them to change my kit so I got two clean tubs instead. I think I bought some extra wipes too, there’s usually an offer on. A friend told me that if you use cooled boiled water for the fresh tub they don’t go musty as quickly. I got the camomile tea idea from her too.

I’m steam cleaning our new house today. It’s only been half a day and my back is killing me. Very retro tiles with decades worth of dirt in the grout. It’s grim but satisfying.

@shampooeeee camomile tea is a great idea!

I confess I do love a steam cleaner. They're murder on the back but I'm quite looking forward to unleashing it on the new place (provided we get it - fingers tightly crossed we manage to sort out the mortgage in next couple of days. It's been a mare, all the accountants are on holiday and for a while we thought it was all going to fall through. But I think it's going to be OK.)

@orangekitkat I book3d mine through a private clinic I believe that's what most people do unless there is a medical reason for an early scan. So you'll have to see what clinics are near you.

I’ve been for a scan this morning - all looking good! I’m suffering with gas too, it was quite difficult to keep it in whilst the sonographer was pushing and probing 😳
I’m so tired atm I might have to nap whilst DS does.

Hi i am currently 11.2 weeks due 3/3/19 with my 2nd child, i have a 4 year old daughter and really finding this pregnancy alot harder, tho I have been told i am 'old' now by doctors lol only 34

Hi all! Please can I join?
Due first baby on 8/3/19. Our scan is next Friday and I can't wait!! Hoping everything is all okay. My recent spate of Morning Sickness has given me a bit of reassurance!

welcome to all the newcomers! Clairemcd13 i thik we're edd twins, and I have a 4 year old as well (although I'm an ancient 37 so that should make you feel better!).

I need a kick up the backside to go for a swim - have been on holiday for a week and very quickly got out of the exercise habit. I also ate far too many baguettes though so I very much need to get back into it...

Is anyone else struggling to fit into normal clothes? I tried to put on 'work' trousers (as opposed to floaty holiday dresses or tracksuit bottoms) today and have spent all day with the top button and most of the zip undone. A good look, I'm sure you'll agree. I'm 11 weeks, but sure I managed much longer than this last time?

I had my dating scan today, all fine apart from we have a stubborn little bean who bounced up and down, waved it's arms about and flatly refused to move into a position that would allow the nuchal fold measurements to be done. All was fine otherwise though, seems happy in there and we heard the heartbeat, which was just awesome!

Moosterthemoose I'm struggling a bit clothes wise too, I've heard it's very common to show earlier after your first pregnancy. I'm working from home today so gone for comfy maternity clothes although won't wear them out yet as to much of a giveaway and want to wait until after scan.
