Just adding myself in for 3rd March! Good idea and nice to be able to see at a glance.

So I chickened out of telling people at the wedding this weekend! Pretty sure I've been rumbled by most of them, but they were kind and the closest I got to a reveal was a bit of a knowing "you're driving are you??" with a smile, and a total lack of surprise when I called it a night just before 10! Survived the loooong day alright though considering how crappy I'd been feeling in the week. At 11 weeks today and hopeful for some reprieve soon - fingers crossed for us all it doesn't last much longer. Hope you've all had restful weekends!

LittleKitty1985 · 12/08/2018 18:39

Can someone add me too please? EDD 02/03/19, first baby, & we've just found out it's a boy! Grin

@TheOneWithTheBaby Glad the scan went well! It's so reassuring to hear the heartbeat, isn't it?

Lovely scan pic as well, @LittleKitty1985, and so exciting to know already what you're having.

Has everybody else decided yet if they want to know the sex or if they'd rather stay in the dark until birth?

LittleKitty1985 · 12/08/2018 19:36

My mum has tediously decided she doesn't want to know the sex, so I've got about 7 months of trying to remember to say "it" instead of "he" when talking to her about him ("it") Hmm

Wineandchoccy · 12/08/2018 19:41

wordsmithereens We are having a surprise we did with dd and loved not knowing it certainly helped me get through an awful labour as well.

Angelmiracle · 12/08/2018 19:48

@LittleKitty1985 congratulations that's amazing news! I have a DS he is a mummys boy and so cool 😉 You are our 1st gender reveal!

We won't be finding out we didn't find out with DS I had a strong instinct he would be a boy. My feeling is girl this time - March will tell 😂

OP posts:
Murphyrocks · 12/08/2018 19:52

@LittleKitty1985 how annoying for you guys! That would drive me mad.

@wordsmithereens we'll be finding out, did last time with DS and felt more bonded somehow by knowing if it was an innie or an outtie! I'd love to know now but refuse to spend over £200 to know a few weeks earlier!

Gronk27 · 12/08/2018 20:14

We want to find out. I am not patient.

Ended up telling a couple of people today at a BBQ, the minute I said I was driving one friend was on me. OH told another friend whose going away party it was.

I have been exhausted all weekend! And my lower back was agony in the night!

orangekitkat13 · 12/08/2018 20:50

@Gronk27 all I have to say is hot water bottle! Had horrible lower bank pain all yesterday and spent most of the day with a hot water bottle on my back and it really helped, very little pain today. Also slept with a pillow between my legs which might have helped.

Gronk27 · 12/08/2018 21:06

@orangekitkat13 yep think I'm going to crack out the hot water bottle!

BadBadBeans · 12/08/2018 21:21

Congrats @LittleKitty1985!

My husband doesn't want to find out this time round. I'm torn. I know our boy-heavy family would be extra excited for a girl, and if it's not a girl I kind of want people (and to be perfectly honest, myself) to be prepared. I don't want ANY expressions of disappointment after the birth. Not that I think they would be that rude, but sometimes people do say silly things don't they? I also loved knowing that DS was a boy - it really helped me bond. BUT if I am totally honest I would quite like a daughter, and I don't want to feel any wistfulness if it is another boy, so I feel it would be better for me to find out at the birth because then I will just be so happy that I (hopefully) have a healthy little baby that I won't give a flying fig about its genitalia.

HidCat · 12/08/2018 21:33

@BadBadBeans I'm the same. Wanted a boy first time and got one, this time Id like a girl but if it's a boy that's fine but I'd rather know sooner than later. We also have a boy heavy family - 6 first cousins with 1 girl. We're the last to have any more babies so all the pressure is on me (from my niece lol).

Felt really nauseous tonight and lay down to try to help it clear - fell asleep for an hour! Oops

Murphyrocks · 12/08/2018 21:43

@BadBadBeans you've literally described pretty much exactly how I feel about it, but know there's no way I could have the self control to wait until the birth even though I know any possible disappointment is likely to be tempered at that point! If it's another boy that's fine as long as it's happy and healthy but I'd like us and family to be prepared I think.

Also I could swear that I've been feeling some little fluttery movements tonight - is that crazy at 11 weeks? I know it's ridiculously early but I was only 13 weeks when I started feeling ds move and know you often feel them earlier the second time around...

TheOneWithTheBaby · 12/08/2018 22:12

We will definitely be finding out as we are just too impatient!

Yes it was so good to hear the heart beat yesterday. Couldn't believe how loud and clear it was!

Can I ask about some pregnancy dos and don'ts?
Had such a sore back today that I decided to have a nice bath. I read if it's too hot it's not good but what does too hot mean? It's not turning me pink or anything, but I do like it warm!
Also-sex. We haven't since we've found out really. I'm a bit worried as I've read about bleeding afterwards. Were goingon holiday this week so would be nice as we have some time for each other, but don't want to risk bleeding while abroad? Sorry I know this is such a personal question.

wordsmithereens · 12/08/2018 23:41

It's really interesting reading people's different reasons for wanting/not wanting to know. :) I'd never have thought of the mystery keeping you going through labour, but makes sense.

Went for a 40 minute walk to pick up some stuff earlier, then promptly conked out for 2 hours on the sofa afterwards. Wine In positive news, I've discovered that muller corner fruit yoghurts make me feel less sick than most other things.

@theonewiththebaby I'd also read about bleeding during sex, so was a bit anxious, but didn't happen the couple of times I've felt well enough to DTD. Everything I've read suggests it's fine though, so I guess listen to your body and take it easy and go from there? The hormones do seem to make me more prone to crygasms, which freaked DH a little, thankfully I'd had the odd one before so I wasn't completely thrown!

wordsmithereens · 12/08/2018 23:42

Ehm. The glass of wine was meant to be a Shock Hmm

HidCat · 13/08/2018 08:36

@TheOneWithTheBaby I had some bleeding last time hubby and I had sex. It's a passion killer at the very least. I had it in my first pregnancy, though not before 35 weeks, so wasn't too freaked out and it stopped immediately afterwards. It's scary but it doesn't happen to most people. I'd say don't let fear of it put you off, just be careful and don't let him go too deep.

Shampooeeee · 13/08/2018 08:40

@LittleKitty1985 I couldn't be doing with that, it's not really her decision to make, is it? I would just accidentally let slip early on and then you don't have to worry about it! Wink

We are definitely finding out. I like the event of finding out and telling people plus it really helped me to bond with DS. Once we decided on his name, we referred to him by name (just me and DH) and that was really lovely. Also, we have fixed on a boy name but are struggling with girl names. If we find out it's a boy we can stop deliberating. I do have a feeling it's a girl this time, but not a strong feeling. Last time, I was 100% sure he was a boy. Does anyone else have an inkling?

Bluebelltulip · 13/08/2018 09:07

littlekitty1985 not planning on finding out this time and didn't last time either. A friend of mine had the same situation as you and didn't find it as hard as she thought she would, she did decide that if she slipped up she wouldn't beat her self up which helped the pressure.
