@MistakenHoliday exactly - I want them to know I'm pregnant so that they will be on my side when DH is being unreasonable Wink. @Velcro88 The scan picture is a good idea and would be a nice, positive way to share the news. I'm planning to have the Harmony & scan done at 10 weeks, but that's more than 4 weeks away and realistically I just cannot wait that long to tell them. I think I'm just going to have to suck it up and say something over dinner - maybe tonight!

@zugmrs so lovely that you managed a natural BFP just as you were gearing up for the next level. Really hope it all pans out for you!

I suddenly remembered the marvels of GINGER this morning! We have root ginger in stock so I am going to be living off fresh ginger tea for the rest of the day. DH (trying to be thoughtful) made me a coffee this morning that was so strong I could have stood my spoon in it. Not what my slightly wibbly tummy needed. Went straight down the sink!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 26/07/2018 12:29

Cramping still really painful but bleeding seems to have calmed, fingers crossed it is just sorting itself out. Was supposed to be taking DS swimming but barely getting off the sofa, thankfully Blaze is helping distract him!

BadBadBeans · 26/07/2018 12:34

Glad to hear that the bleeding has leseenes @SquirtlesMumAgain. Hope the cramping stops soon too. Sounds awful :(

I've just realised that this baby, if all is well, will be born just before Brexit. DS was born just after the EU Referendum. How... weird.

Wineandchoccy · 26/07/2018 12:40

SquirtlesMumAgain glad the bleeding has stopped take it easy a bit of tv babysitter is needed today

Angelmiracle · 26/07/2018 12:55

@SquirtlesMumAgain definitely lots of rest today hun feet up if you can!

BadBadBeans I remember being really awkward about telling my parents when DH had proposed. No reason for it, I just didn't know how to bring it up. I ended up ranting on for about half an hour about how I needed a filling in my tooth and then dropped in the engagement at the end! Blush Don't do that!
Welcome zugmrs and congratulations on your long awaited bfp.

MoosterTheMoose · 26/07/2018 13:19

hello all, just marking my place! thanks for new thread angel.

I still feel wretched but am determined that today I won't deal with it by eating everyting I can see! So far, so good (relatively speaking)... Have kids' swimming lessons tonight and am dreading the heat.

Found out at booking appt that I have really quite low blood pressure (around 80/60) - anyone else have this, or know if it's a problem?

minniecat2406 · 26/07/2018 13:21

Hi everyone, can I join please! First baby, due 29 March. Has anyone here had an early scan with 'She Cares' at Kingston Hospital before? X

minniecat2406 · 26/07/2018 13:23

@BadBadBeans know what you mean about Brexit dates. My birthday was the day of the referendum and baby due the day we leave the EU...Confused

Wineandchoccy · 26/07/2018 13:32

minniecat2406 welcome to the March club

thefirsttimer · 26/07/2018 13:44

Thanks for the new thread @Angelmiracle - I wonder what number we will make it up to come March?!

@Murphyrocks what a lovely scan it sounds like you had! And a great picture too! So pleased for you x

@ladycarlotta sorry you're struggling with the nausea, I feel your pain! I had a better day yesterday so I was hoping it was starting to tail off, but it's business as usual today. This heat is definitely not helping!

Welcome and congrats @zugmrs and @minniecat2406 Smile

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow, who else has hit that yet? I know there's a couple of February EDD's in here now who must have . I feel so grateful to be at this point, finding out at 3+3 I didn't dare imagine we'd make it this far!

ladycarlotta · 26/07/2018 13:57

@thefirsttimer I'll be 9 weeks on Saturday according to LMP. I can't believe it either - I think I found out at about 3+4 and was just convinced that we would lose it.

Nausea is nowhere near so bad today, so obviously I'm now worrying about that instead of just enjoying normal life. I have a private scan tomorrow so fingers crossed. My granddad is dying so I'd really like to be able to share this news with him and the family.

Welcome @minniecat2406! I used to be local to Kingston hospital but sadly not any more. I had a bad experience at their Jasmine Unit for early pregnancy but it was years ago and definitely not the same place you are going. My other experiences with another EPU was great, and I'm sure they mostly are.

Wineandchoccy · 26/07/2018 13:57

thefirsttimer I’m 9 weeks tomorrow as well Smile

Wineandchoccy · 26/07/2018 13:59

ladycarlotta sorry to hear about your Grandad I hope sharing the news helps at this sad time.

RachaelT · 26/07/2018 14:12

@Wineandchoccy @thefirsttimer me too! Can't believe that the week after we're ¼ of the way through!

thefirsttimer · 26/07/2018 14:18

@ladycarlotta so sorry to hear about your Grandad. Best of luck with the scan tomorrow, I bet it will be a lovely moment to be able to tell him afterwards .

Wow @RachaelT I hadn't thought of it like that! A quarter of the way through! That sounds absolutely crazy to think of!

When we first found out, the 12 week scan seemed like a lifetime away, and yet here it is creeping up on us (mine is 3 weeks on Monday, the 20th August). When do you all have yours @RachaelT @Wineandchoccy and @ladycarlotta - must be around then too?

RachaelT · 26/07/2018 14:25

Only got my booking in appointment a week today @thefirsttimer - bit behind you guys as only tested at 5+1 due to having got sick and fed up of pre-period testing being BFNs so waited to be late and was then in Barcelona for a week! Hoping I won't have to wait weeks after for scan.

thefirsttimer · 26/07/2018 14:30

@RachaelT there's only a small window for the scan if you're having the screening done, so hopefully you won't have to wait long at all!

angel0071987 · 26/07/2018 14:41

@MoosterTheMoose my bp with my last one was the exact same as yours. The only advice I was given (could barely stay upright) was increase fluids and that it was better to have low rather than high bp. They also said to up salt and sugar content although I wouldn't necessarily advocate that one!

Angelmiracle · 26/07/2018 14:47

@minniecat2406 welcome and congratulations 🎉

@ladycarlotta I'm sure you're grandad would be so happy for you x
I'm feeling perfectly normal today other than loads of veins on boobs! Hope they get sore later lol it's unsettling.

@MoosterTheMoose we had swimming lessons yesterday afternoon. The heat is very overcoming Confused I'm lucky full on nausea hasn't set in yet!

orangefolly · 26/07/2018 15:05

Hi everyone! I have retreated back home for the afternoon because the office was getting unbearably hot!

@angelmiracle it's really nervewracking when symptoms stop for a bit isn't it? I keep trying to remember that if it was someone else I would tell them it was nothing to worry about and they're bound to fluctuate, but it never calms me down!

I'm strangely delighted I've been feeling a bit queasy today after a couple of days of not.

puravida31 · 26/07/2018 15:24

Wowzers thread 3 already!

@thefirsttimer i’ll be 9 weeks on Sunday. I’ve been told my scan will be between 20th-29th August but haven’t got a date yet. We go to Paris on the 25th so hoping it’s before that 🤞

thefirsttimer · 26/07/2018 15:26

Fingers crossed for you @puravida31 🤞🏼

ladycarlotta · 26/07/2018 15:46

@RachaelT quarter of the way through! When you put it like that, it sounds brilliant! Well done us.

@thefirsttimer I've got my booking-in next friday - it's been over a month's wait! - so I guess I'll have a 12 week scan scheduled pretty quickly after that, but I don't know exactly when. Hoping sooner just so I can tell more people.

I'm really sad about my granddad but he has been ill and suffering for a long time, and since I live near him and am able to visit often, it has been a pleasant peaceful kind of time. I know that sounds perverse. My other grandfather also died recently in really traumatic circumstances, so this time is actually weirdly nice - it feels like a better death if that makes sense? I feel very lucky to be able to share this news with him, even though the circumstances are so sad.

Velcro88 · 26/07/2018 15:49

@puravida31 snap for 9 weeks on Sunday. I just got my scan appointment for 21st August. Can't wait to meet the bean! Fingers crossed yours comes in for before you go. Can you phone the unit to see if they can coordinate your appt over the phone? I had to phone to change mine as we were away for original date but it meant it went backwards, so might be worth pre-empting if you can?!
