Hope the scan goes well @ladycarlotta x

Angelmiracle · 27/07/2018 09:57

@ladycarlotta fx all is well at your scan 🤞 It will be lovely to be able to share the news!

@Murphyrocks whoop on the rat being evicted 😆 Enjoy your weekend at the Lake District!

Why is it I was normal yesterday but this morning when I'm getting my nails done and meeting friends for lunch the dodgy tummy starts 😤 They will def suspect if I up and leave for the bathroom!

Safe to say the nausea has arrived for me. Can't face breakfast at the best of times, today I feel like I know I need to eat but everything is turning my stomach. Was hoping for sickness so that I'd have some symptoms but now regretting that wish

Newbie2703 · 27/07/2018 10:16

Thanks for the advise I think saving a few weeks holiday is a great idea defo gonna do that !

ladycarlotta · 27/07/2018 10:22

@Jenfur careful what you wish for, right? I've found that even if you don't want to, it's better to eat than not. You feel a bit better for it, and if you are actually throwing up, it's so much better to have something in your stomach to bring up. I know that sounds bleak. Can you manage something bland and carby?

Jenfur · 27/07/2018 10:38

@ladycarlotta definitely! I managed a couple of cream crackers as I was craving those a few days ago - I think your body seems to want what it knows it needs. Feel a bit better for having eaten but really had to convince myself to keep going, didn't enjoy them at all. Think my son might have a day with the TV babysitter ahead of him.

Murphyrocks · 27/07/2018 10:49

@Jenfur glad you managed something even without wanting it - I haven't actively wanted food for weeks but it's so much worse if I don't eat! Try not to feel guilty about the TV babysitter - I'm generally screen free with ds but the last month or so I've felt so rough that's gone out of the window. Important to be kind to ourselves atm, we're doing lots of difficult stuff!

Thanks for the congrats on rat eviction! @ladycarlotta in fairness it wasn't full grown, probably adolescent, 2-3 times the size of a mouse, but still definitely enough to freak me out! Especially since they're pretty vicious as you say, I may have screamed a little bit when trying to chase it out myself and I'm not easily fazed! Cat's only tiny too and she's about 14, surely she's getting too old for such entertainment?! Good luck on your scan too, fx for you all is well!

TheWanderlust · 27/07/2018 10:50

@Velcro88 I'm in a similar situation to you. Currently thinking I will work til 1st March (EDD 6th) but will take 1 week A/L before so more likely to finish around 22nd Feb.

Work is not my friend at the moment so part of me just wants to throw the towel in early and go as soon as I can. I work for a local authority so currently seeing if I would be accepted onto any internal transfer programs - although I'm guessing that's unlikely when they realise I'm pregnant. Nobody will want me for 6 months before I go on Mat leave 🤦🏼‍♀️

Murphyrocks · 27/07/2018 10:51

I also seem to be getting my first bona fide craving now the nausea is starting to ease - fruit in jelly! Last time it was all about banana and peanut butter toasties. Anyone else?!

pushit · 27/07/2018 11:00

@Jenfur yes. Same here. My daughter has watched 2hrs TV so far 🙈 I normally get us out in the morning but feel too wretched today. She's not used to me saying 'yes you can watch more peppa'!

Jenfur · 27/07/2018 11:34

@pushit we're watching awful nursery rhymes on Youtube as I know they'll hold his interest more than anything else. Every time a song finishes he asks "More songs?" clearly expecting a no.

pushit · 27/07/2018 12:30

@Jenfur yep that's my daughters favourite too. Awful johnny johnny filled our first out of screen time 😩 she's having a break now, playing by herself ish. Thankfully. Still a very long day to get through...

pushit · 27/07/2018 12:46

@Jenfur ah man. She just followed me to the toilet and saw me be very sick! Bless her. I had to keep telling her I was okay. That's the first time I've actually thrown up!! Very bad today. How are you?

ladycarlotta · 27/07/2018 12:49

Guys!! I know I'm biased but what an ace scan! The ones she did on my belly look like nothing recognisable, but this is an internal (my bladder wasn't really full enough and there was a measurement she couldn't get), so the baby is face-on. It was moving and had a heartbeat.
Love this little turtle!
Again I measured at 8+3 rather than 8+6, but last scan 2 weeks ago had the same difference so I guess my due date goes forward a bit.

Jenfur · 27/07/2018 12:51

@pushit oh bless, that must be hard for her to understand. My boy has "Mummy's poorly" sussed but so far its only nausea so he can forget about it. I've had some soup (my son was having some for lunch and it suddenly sounded really good, despite the heat!) And feeling quite a bit better sickness wise but so exhausted. Dog is on babysitting duties at the moment though haha they're chasing each other around

Jenfur · 27/07/2018 12:53

@ladycarlotta great scan pic! Congratulations that everything is good

pushit · 27/07/2018 12:57

@ladycarlotta great scan pic. So nice to know it's all okay. I expect they'll be a big development by your 12weel scan, I think 9-12 weeks they change the most. So exciting x

Bas27 · 27/07/2018 13:03

Wow this has moved quickly!!
I vowed to myself to be more active on this third thread but there are already nearly 150 messages before I've noticed!!

Checking in!
5+4 today.
At the hospital at the moment hopefully going to have an early scan to rule out ectopic!!
Referred by gp this morning. Been here for 3 hours already.

angel0071987 · 27/07/2018 13:14

I just had my booking appointment. Even though I'm 6+5 she wrote down only 6 so likely I will have even longer to wait for a scan now. And I so want one just to see it's all ok and I'm getting scan envy of all your lovely ones!!
She said I probably won't get it until nearer 14weeks as a backlog here and 14weeks is upper limit for the scanning tests. Humph.
Just got to wait for letter now and see what's what.

Velcro88 · 27/07/2018 13:32

@ladycarlotta what a magical scan!! Ahh! I can now imagine what mine might look like too. So pleased everything's progressing nicely.

@Bas27 good luck at the hospital- fingers crossed you get seen soon (!) and that it's all ok.

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2018 13:33

ladycarlotta lovely scan photo

Bas27 Hope everything is ok

angel0071987 How frustrating did you challenge her on the dates or was there not much point?

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2018 13:34

SquirtlesMumAgain hope you are doing ok and no further cramping or bleeding

Wineandchoccy · 27/07/2018 13:35

I have persuaded a colleague who I’m working with to have lunch in Nando’s Grin

angel0071987 · 27/07/2018 13:44

@Wineandchoccy I did challenge her but she said as it was on back of a miscarriage that my dates wouldn't have been reliable. I think the date I gave her was actually a day or so later anyway. So I recon I'll be a week out when they scan. So hoping backlog isn't as bad as she makes out or I'll be 15weeks at the 14 week scan

BadBadBeans · 27/07/2018 13:51

@Velcro88 I didn't get my head around having an actual baby until my son was about 6 months old 😂

@Jenfur yep I am also wondering why I was so keen to feel sick! Took my son to playgroup this morning and managed okay but felt pretty desperate by the time I got home. Luckily there were other people about to offload DS onto while I escaped for a lie down - the advantages of multi generational living! Not sure I felt this sick with DS, but then again the passage of time does create a certain amnesia about unpleasant events...! Anyway for now I am clinging to the fact that with my miscarriage I felt not one iota of sickness for the whole nine weeks, so this has therefore got to be an improvement.

Things on my wants list:
Tomato juice
Orange ice lollies
Ginger ice cream

Reckon I could stomach all of the above quite happily.
