April 2019 Babies

LulaRose · 20/07/2018 11:16

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

@TheMagicTorch me too! I feel like such a fraud! Until I see a scan of an actual baby I shall remained convinced that I've made it all up in my head Grin

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 20/08/2018 14:13

Thinking of you Dartmoor & SPR fingers crossed.

I’ve only ‘known’ for 3 days but feel like my life has completely changed, I need a scan for peace of mind, it feels real but until the scan it just doesn’t feel like it’s 100% true. If that makes sense!

SPR1107 · 20/08/2018 14:14

So just been to the scan, everything is in the right place, but showing at 5w 5d (I should be 6w 3d), but she said the reason they don't scan before 12 weeks is because it's near on impossible to get an accurate dating. It was so small she struggled to find it within the sack which worried me, but then we saw it and it was pulsating, so took that as a good sign.
We already had a private scan booked in for 31st August, so hoping that rolls around quickly!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 20/08/2018 14:17

That’s good news SPR!

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/08/2018 14:25

@SPR1107 that’s great news!

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/08/2018 14:26

I’ve just had the first lot of bloods taken to check hcg levels are rising, repeat blood test on Wednesday so should know by Thursday if everything is liking ok or not

TheMagicTorch · 20/08/2018 14:32

@SPR1107 That's brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you that it's all in the right place - I'm sure the time will fly over for your private scan.

Mine's the 2nd September so I hope it flies too!

@Littleloaf 🙈 same here! So what if I have sore boobs and nausea, what if I have made it all up! I keep having to look at pictures of my positive tests on my phone to remind me I didn't imagine it.

Before I started TTC I thought it went -

  1. Stop contraception.
  2. Get pregnant.
  3. Have baby after 9 months.

But bloody hell it's a rollercoaster! How can time go so slowly - I just want to see my little squishie on a screen!

Treaclepie19 · 20/08/2018 14:34

That's great SPR!
Fingers crossed for you Dartmoor

I've just worried myself because I walked to the park pushing my son (who is a heavy almost 3 year old) and got caught in the rain so pretty much ran back. I'm so worn out now and crampy.
Not much I can do though. Sometimes I'm going to have to push him.

Newbie2703 · 20/08/2018 17:23

Anybody got any tips on telling y your boss ? I'm so so nervous. 9 +2 but I'm going back to work tomorrow after going home sick again on Saturday. My vision went blury due to a migraine and I was feeling very sick ! My work are really strict on sickness, even if you have 1 day off you have to have a back to work interview :/ this is the second time now.

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 20/08/2018 17:28

Are you ready to tell them about your pregnancy Newbie?
I would ask to see your manager alone with your HR manager and let them know as they’ll need to do a risk assessment, just let them know that you would like it to be confidential until you are further along. I hate all the work gossip!

Mejse · 20/08/2018 17:40

@SheRaTheAllPowerful having two lots of twins would be wild.

@EmilyGilmoresCocktailTrolley so sorry to hear about your son, that must have been so hard on you all and very confusing for your little girl.
Ds is still too young to understand so we don't really need to worry about him. Last time dh told dss pretty much right away because he didn't want him to overhear us talking, we just explained that we won't know for sure that the baby is strong enough until we had the 12 week scan. I don't know what we will do this time.

@SPR1107 so glad to see that it was good news.

@DartmoorDoughnut I have my fingers crossed for you.

@Newbie2703 sorry no advice about telling work. I start a 6 week teaching practice on Monday for my last year of uni and I have no idea if I should say anything.

Newbie2703 · 20/08/2018 17:43

Yes i think I'm ready, but yeh I think a want just management to know so I suppose I'll just ask them for a private chat. Still dreading it !

BeeKeeping · 20/08/2018 17:45

@Newbie2703 I told work pretty much right away, and all my colleges. We’re a pretty close team of all ladies. They knew we’d been trying etc. I figured that as I’d tell them if something went wrong (and I’d want time off) then there was no real reason to wait -also terrible at keeping secrets!-

BeeKeeping · 20/08/2018 17:46

*collegues

Newbie2703 · 20/08/2018 17:50

Yeah id feel really confident about it if it was my last job they would be so happy. But there's so many people at my new job and even though I've been there a couple of years were not very close. Fingers crossed

littleemma1 · 20/08/2018 18:02

Just tentatively place marking. 26 and hoping for first baby!
Found out yesterday that I’m pregnant which makes me 4+3 today.
Very scared as had an early miscarriage at 5w in May so hoping this bean sticks 🤞🏼
Cramps ARE normal aren’t they?!

Firsttimemama88 · 20/08/2018 18:35

@littleemma I have sooo many cramps too (plus frequent upset tummy- gross!) it’s horrible- on top of it being uncomfortable I’m so worried every time it happens! I’ve been told it’s normal though 🙂

TheMagicTorch · 20/08/2018 19:49

@BeeKeeping I can't wait to tell my work family. I've told one colleague so far (the one most likely to keep quiet) but want to wait until we've been for our scan at 7 weeks before I tell everyone else. They know we've been trying so very excited to tell them xx

SPR1107 · 20/08/2018 19:52

Welcome newbies! And thanks everyone for your well wishes.

I made the most of the rare treat of DS being at nursery whilst I was at home today, and ignored all the housework and treated myself to a nice warm bath this afternoon, had a little cry and now feel much better and a lot more optimistic about everything!

I'm going to tell my boss and one colleague tomorrow now, so I can explain if I need time off for anything.

TheMagicTorch · 20/08/2018 19:56

@Firsttimemama88 I've had a constantly dodgy tummy too- from one extreme to the other 🙊

Growingahuman · 20/08/2018 20:01

Hi ladies!! Well it looks like I’m joining you lot. Got a bfp last Sunday on a frer. Very shocked as I’ve only just stopped the mini pill. Anyway, I think I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and due the 23rd although I’ll have a section so would be earlier. Look forward to getting to know you all over the next 8 months and beyond xxx

Timaru · 20/08/2018 20:15

Hi everyone I got my BFP over the weekend and think I’m about 6 weeks, going off my BBT spike. However my last BFN was only Thursday so is it possible I’m that far gone and still a BFN then followed by BFPs a few days later? My cycles are long and irregular so can’t tell from that! My best guess is an April baby though!

Ceallaigh · 20/08/2018 20:49

Welcome to the new arrivals! @DartmoorDoughnut keeping fingers crossed for you due date buddy! 🤞

littleemma1 · 20/08/2018 20:54

I forgot to say, according to apps due end of April (ish) but expecting that will change.
@Firsttimemama88 I’m so pleased you’re cramping too!! So many people keep telling me it’s normal and I think it is but I just get freaked out 😣
I spoke to my doctors surgery today and a GP is calling me back tomorrow to sort out referral to EPU for an early reassurance scan 😬
I also told my boss as he was so supportive last time I wanted him to know!!
I’ll probably be a lurker for a while now just until I know everything is ok, just wanted to make sure I could find the thread and keep up with you all xxx

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 20/08/2018 21:56

Cramping is totally normal, I hate it, feels so weird it’s different to period cramps. Last pregnancy weeks 7-11 were really bad for me, I’m so excited to be having a baby but I didn’t really enjoy pregnancy last time as I was ill for months :(
