April 2019 Babies

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

@DartmoorDoughnut I had lots of cramps, really painful cramps when I had my bleeding and after it all settled down obviously things have still carried on growing.
Hopefully things will work out. Glad you got in touch with your DH.

I'm tired all day too but I keep having a nap at my son's bedtime then can't sleep when we go to bed. We all had a lie in until 9am this morning though 😮😮😮

DartmoorDoughnut · 18/08/2018 20:16

No scan or booking in appt yet, they don’t want to know until at least 8weeks I think. Have some friends nearby but they’re all mum friends so can’t ask them to drop everything. ILs are on hols as of tomorrow I think and I don’t want them to worry before they go, could ask my DM to come and stay maybe and if I’m still bleeding the same amount tomorrow I might give her a call. DH home on Thursday thankfully. I’ve a midwife friend who I sent a picture of the bleeding too and she said it’s what they’d class as a light bleed but it obvs doesn’t mean anything per se. I am sure I ovulated late so I’m hoping it’s just an implantation bleed.

Thanks all for listening and sharing your stories, it’s helping me stay positive!

Hey ladies
Can I join?
Just got a BFP on a frer at 10dpo
Due around April 28 (couple days after my birthday!)
I'm 36
This will be my 5th pregnancy
I have 1 Dd 22 months old and I have had 3 MCs since last August bank holiday
It has been a horrible year
My last mc was in March - I took a break TTC and seen a consultant as well as acupuncturist
I've been diagnosed with very aggressive nk cells, which basically means my immune system has been attacking the foetuses and causing my miscarriages- that's the theory anyway. So I am on drugs to suppress my immunity, and hopefully enable me to have another baby!

It is still such early days and I am quite anxious - but thought I would like to join you guys on this crazy magical difficult and beautiful journey!

My period is due on Tuesday so just want to pass that first milestone. And then see how it goes 🙏🏽🤞🏽🙏🏽

F1rsttimemum · 19/08/2018 07:07

Had my scan and so pleased to see a heart beat! Yet!! However, they put my due date back 2 weeks! I thought I was 7+5 and they said 6 on the dot. Makes me worry baby is small. Also they found a large cyst on my ovary which is 7 cm ! Freaked out as it wasn’t there before. So pleased with heart beat but now got new things to panic abut. Anyone know anything about cysts in pregnancy?! It wasn’t there 4 months ago when I had an internal scan to check my follicles.

Hi everyone new to the thread (I've just joined a couple of days ago too). That's great news on your scan @Firsttimemama88. I don't know a lot about cysts but my friend had one before she fell pregnant and the pregnancy hormones made it shrink away to nothing which she was told often happens so perhaps they will help it disappear. I think it's pretty common to have a cyst develop on the follicle that released the egg that was fertilised as well, which generally just disappear in time. Unless it causes pain I don't think they pose any sort of problem. Like you say though, it's another thing on your mind!

@zarala congratulations! You've really been through the wringer. That's great they've got you on medication to get your body to accept the pregnancy. Hopefully this is the one! I have a DD about the same age as yours. No idea what she's going to think of the idea of a new baby when we eventually tell her!

seeingdots · 19/08/2018 08:44

Cross post. Hi @MissingMargie!

sachabloom · 19/08/2018 11:21

Remember last week when I was wondering where my morning sickness was? 6 weeks today and it has arrived with a vengeance 😩

Hope everyone is having a good weekend xx

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 19/08/2018 11:22

Can I join too BFP yesterday, I have 8 year old twins and am nearly 39 so a bit of a surprise for me, but I’m excited all the same.
I think my due date is 21st April, have booked in to see the doctor this week. They seemed to think I was an old mum at 30 so no idea what that makes me now :)

Mejse · 19/08/2018 11:29

Hi can I join you guys?
It's taken me a while to get caught up on the thread.
I got a faint positive on a test on Friday at about 9/10dpo, still haven't missed my period yet and I'm trying to hold out until then to test again. If all goes well this will be my second and dh's third.
I'm not 100% sure of dates yet but I think edd is around 30th of April - 1st of May.
Last time I managed to wait until I had missed my period and got a very strong line within seconds but when my previously saggy postbreastfeeding boobs reinflated I felt pretty sure something was going on and couldn't resist taking a test.

@DartmoorDoughnut your name seems very familiar, is your 2nd a December 2016 baby by any chance? Sorry to read about your bleeding and others that are having a worrying time at the moment

EmMay88 · 19/08/2018 13:22

Hi everyone lovely to meet you all! Due date for me is 19th April 😊 So hard to keep it a secret and am already running out of excuses as to why I’m not having a glass of wine!! Good to hear others are already having symptoms - I can’t stop crying and feel so over emotional!! Good luck to everyone over the next few months 🤞

Firsttimemama88 · 19/08/2018 16:56

welcome @emmay88, and huge congratulations! You have the same due date as me! 😊 how are you feeling? Hah in the same with the wine situation 😂 look after yourself! X

jess21690 · 19/08/2018 17:02

Lovely to hear about people's positive news from scans. Booking mine for 2 weeks time when I'll be 8 weeks, hoping it will all start to feel real then!
Is anyone else really struggling with fatigue?! It's got so bad over the last few days, it's not just a normal tired feeling it's full body exhaustion, like I'm wading through treacle! Starting to really get me down. Any tips? I've been trying to get bits of exercise every day!

NorthernGirl1991 · 19/08/2018 17:22

@jess21690 Yes I’m massively struggling with exhaustion! I’ve not really been out of bed today Confused
Tomorrow I’m leading an all day training day for my staff at work, which is basically me presenting all day...not sure how I’m going to cope but I’m defo going to put in some extra toilet breaks Sad

EmMay88 · 19/08/2018 17:30

Aw that’s so exciting @firsttimemama88 - it’s our first baby too so struggling not to get over excited!

My doctor referred me straight to the midwife and I have an appointment tomorrow - it seems a bit earlier than other people across the UK as I’m only just over 5 weeks and most people are saying they wait til 8 weeks. Does it just depend where in the country you live?! Xx

Firsttimemama88 · 19/08/2018 18:15

@emmay88 it must do! I was told that I have to wait till week 10 to see mine, which seems a little late as I have seen online there are usually some tests for sickle cell etc that they run before then? Hmm! I had to really beg to see someone before then and they let me see a nurse last week which has made me feel much more reassured. Uk mamas- I’ve just tried ‘nosecco’ from Sainsbury’s- a lovely alternative to prosecco 👍🏻 I’d recommend!

BeeKeeping · 19/08/2018 18:27

Just back from my early scan- all good 🙌🏻 seeing the wee bean and hearing the heartbeat was amazing! It was all over too fast.

Thinking of those going through uncertainty and hoping it all works out well xx

ashley992 · 19/08/2018 19:56

Congratulations @BeeKeeping. It must be such a relief! How far along are you? I've got one when I'll be 7+2 due to two previous miscarriages. I'm expecting to hear the worst and wish I wasn't thinking like that but can't help it when it's been the case twice!

BeeKeeping · 19/08/2018 21:18

@ashley992 I thought I was 7+2 but they said it was maybe a few days earlier 6+6

Try to think positively, worrying won’t change the outcome but will make you miserable in the meantime. Fingers crossed for you

SPR1107 · 19/08/2018 21:59

Congratulations @BeeKeeping that's great news.

Unfortunately, I've started bleeding today. Trying to remain hopeful as had a bleed at 6 weeks with DS, and I'm currently 6w 1d, so perhaps just something I do? On the other hand, trying not to pin my hopes on that, as it isn't fact.

Other people who have experienced bleeds, did you go to the doctors? When I went with DS they basically said 'what will be, will be, go home and wait it out'. So not sure what to do.

I have a private scan booked in for a week on Friday... will not be waiting that long now!

zarala · 19/08/2018 22:05

Thanks @seeingdots !
I really I hope this works out because there's nothing I want more than to give my dd a sibling! She's obsessed with babies so I am hoping she will be cool with it 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Congrats @SheRaTheAllPowerful !

@Mejse we maybe pregnancy twins. I tested positive on Thursday at 10dpo...think due date is 28-29th April! And my period is due on Tuesday- haha love that your boobs have already reinflated!!!! What a bonus! Haha

@EmMay88 congrats and I am also feeling v emotional 😭 haha

@jess21690 first trimester exhaustion is REAL! I haven't experienced yet with this pregnancy but with my first it was overwhelming and unstoppable! I even passed out on a conference call at work! Head tilted back and snoring and everything! Luckily they knew I was preggers so kind of excused me... 😬🙄

@ashley992 fx for you hun- I've been there. Just had 3 consecutive MCs. So I am also so apprehensive- waiting for first scan.... we will get there- gotta take it one day at a time! But I'm here if you need a rant- because I am sure I will be venting my anxiety quite a bit (sorry in advance everyone)

Af is due on Tuesday- I'm planning on peeing on a frer on Tuesday just to see if there's been any progression since Thursday! 😬 reassurance strongly needed!

Anyone here on progesterone? Are you inserting them in the front or back?! 😬
I've been going through the back door but they're giving me worst gas! 🙈 is this normal???

zarala · 19/08/2018 22:08

@SPR1107 when I bled my EPU gave me a scan to confirm what was happening- can you insist on that? Hopefully it will be nothing and all is fine- many women do bleed- but I would rather be reassured in your place...
Bear in mind tho that I have had really shit luck over the past year so I would def be looking for reassurance....

SPR1107 · 19/08/2018 22:15

@zarala my family are all too familiar with the shittest of shit things that can happen, which makes me super paranoid that it's soon to be 'my turn', and over cautious about every little thing. It's also the reason I haven't told any one except DH about the pregnancy, because I don't want to put them through any more heartache.
Would it be OTT to call in sick at work? Does it mean I'll have to tell them? I was thinking if I can take my DS to nursery, and get straight in at the doctors? And hope they send me to EPU... I'm assuming I can't just turn up at EPU? If they refuse (like last time), can I just go to A&E? Is that going too far?

SPR1107 · 19/08/2018 22:17

Just realised how many questions I asked in my last post! Thinking out loud ha.. sorry!

zarala · 19/08/2018 22:26

Haha @SPR1107 don't apologise- I know exactly what you're going through!

I went to a&e and they sent me to the EPU-my EPU have a walk in for reassurance and if you're bleeding- but I don't know if every EPU has that?
My gp's didn't even want to know I was pregnant ! Wierd huh? They told me to just to self refer to my hospital of choice!

I wouldn't tell work just yet. But I'd def call in sick! I think I would go to your EPU and tell them what's going on / I can't imagine they'd send you away??? Just insist you need to be seen
