April 2019 Babies

Hello everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for babies due in April 2019 as I couldn't see an existing post for it.

I'm 29
I have a DS who is 12 months
Due 3 April with DC2

I'm only 3+2 so extremely early! I can't quite believe it but I got a line on a test at 8dpo, and the line is getting darker. I'm very excited, but also very nervous.

Is time dragging for anyone else? It feels like it's been so long since my first positive test but it's only been a week and I'm still only 4+5!

organised5 · 27/07/2018 21:32

@Littleloaf Time is SO dragging! It's only been 2 days since my BFP and I'm just sat waiting for my missed period to confirm it... ⏰

gothicsprout · 27/07/2018 22:47

Hello! Just found out I'm due with baby no 2 - bit of a surprise, we'd planned to wait until next year to try again, so it doesn't feel at all real at the moment.

At least it explains why I've been so absolutely shattered the last week or two (besides the non-sleeping toddler in this heat)!

Treaclepie19 · 28/07/2018 06:40

Hiya!
I got a very very very faint line yesterday and a bit of a clearer one this morning. Can I hop on?
This will be baby number 2 hopefully. Its come as a little shock because it was our first month trying which hasn't happened before.
I did have a bit of pink on wiping on thursday night so thought i was out.

I have short cycles so technically I'm only 3+4 but the nhs calculator adjusts it to 4+1.

organised5 · 28/07/2018 06:51

Welcome @Treaclepie19 and @gothicsprout! Hopefully you can help us newbies out who are having our first 😀

BeeKeeping · 28/07/2018 08:44

Welcome! Yes come with all your wisdom. Advice needed on pretending to drink?! We’ve got friends round and they’ve brought special home made wine for everyone to try 😱 🐝x

organised5 · 28/07/2018 11:34

@BeeKeeping I'm off to a wedding with all my boozy university friends, send help! Our tactic is that DH is going to subtly sip my champagne and table wine so it looks like mine is going down...

Having friends round is trickier though. Could you drink Becks Blue but pour it into a glass so it just looks like you're drinking beer? Take a glass of their wine and take pour some into the sink when they aren't looking?! 🙊

Littleloaf · 28/07/2018 11:37

Could you take the wine and have one really appreciate sip, and then dash off to the kitchen, wine in hand, to check on something? IME people don't notice if you're not really drinking from your glass but they do notice if you turn down booze!

Treaclepie19 · 28/07/2018 11:44

I'll try my best!

Haha pretending to drink...
Either;

  • accept alcohol and pass to someone else/pour away
  • make mocktails
  • say you're swearing off alcohol because you're so hungover
gothicsprout · 28/07/2018 12:17

Tonic with ice & slice (no gin) - looks convincing. Claim dehydration in the heat, or that you're on antibiotics etc, and go with water/soft drinks. Definitely easier to say yes and then 'drink slowly' (or not at all) than to say no up front.

Although in my experience plenty of people notice, but are kind enough to keep up the polite fiction that they haven't noticed you not drinking, until you choose to tell them why.

Braverthanweare · 28/07/2018 13:07

Hello! Very nervous had two positive tests on Tuesday after a very early loss not that long ago so can't be more than 2/3 weeks (had a negative on 5th of July) but hoping all will be this time ♥️

Treaclepie19 · 28/07/2018 15:39

Fingers crossed for you Braverthanweare

I'm having a bit of a stress today. I had that pink spotting Thursday and today I keep having sharp shoulder pain. Just keeping an eye on it. It's gone off for now.

Treaclepie19 · 28/07/2018 16:27

And now some brown spotting. I don't think it's meant to be this time.

BeeKeeping · 29/07/2018 00:12

Thanks for all the great advice ladies- I think it worked! Pretending to drink is definitely more believable than finding excuses not to.

@Treaclepie19 really hoping it all works out well for you. Sending hope 🐝xx

Treaclepie19 · 29/07/2018 08:18

I'm so glad it worked!

Thanks lovely.
No more spotting and a darker line this morning. I'm going to go have a chat with the gp tomorrow though.

firsttimemomtobe · 29/07/2018 08:53

Hi guys,

I got 2 positive tests on 26/7/18 with digital saying 1-2 weeks so approx 3-4 weeks pregnant. I did another basic test today just to make sure & it has a lovely dark positive line GrinSmile. My dates are showing around 6/4/19!

I'm tired, have twinges & I am really REALLY thirsty. I've read up and this seems really common so I'm just going to listen to my body & give it what it wants.

I've got midwife appointment on 14/8/18 which seems ages away.

This will be our first baby after trying for 9 months so we're quite anxious for a healthy pregnancy. I'm trying to be as positive & relaxed as possible.

Z x

Fluffy475 · 29/07/2018 09:22

Hi guys,

Hoping I can join in Smile I'm due 2nd April and we found out last week!

I'm 39 and this is third child for me but 1st for my husband. Had kind of thought it wasn't going to happen as we've been trying for some time. I have ds1 who's 13 and ds2 who's 10 so feeling a bit scary at the moment....I already seem to have forgotten everything from when I pg last and everything's managed to changeGrin

Currently plenty of twinging and aching but no nausea yet. What I have noticed is even though it's been over 10 years since the last one my body has popped my belly out already....not that I needed any help in that direction!!!

Hope everyone's well and doing ok! Smile

YummyMummy2019 · 29/07/2018 11:37

hi ladies

im glad to find this thread! thought I was too early getting excited as im only around 4-5 weeks, due early April 2019

Im 27 and this will be our second baby. x

Treaclepie19 · 29/07/2018 12:22

Oops I tried to reply earlier and it didn't work!
Congratulations ladies!

firstimemomtobe I'm crazily thirsty too.
I have my fingers crossed for a sticky little one for you.

fluffy it's crazy isn't it? This is my 3rd pregnancy (1 mc and 1ds) and I'm feeling everything a little bit more so far.

yummymummy I'm 28 and this will be our second :)

I think I'm due 5th April. It's so hard because of having short cycles. Most calculators say 9th April based on LMP but with a 24 day cycle the NHS site changes it to 5th.
Not much difference in the long run but for now it's the difference of being 4w 2d or 3w 5d.

BeeKeeping · 29/07/2018 15:18

We’ve got the same potential due date @Teaclepie19! It’s also @organised5’s birthday 🎂 so many reasons to be excited about the 5th of April 🙌🏻

Although I have very looong cycles (up to 41 days) so would probably be classed as further along than I actually am.

🐝xx

AlexiaB · 29/07/2018 15:24

Hey ladies! I'm another due 5th April Smile We got lucky with our first round of IVF after a long and painful 3.5 years ttc #1. I'm 27 and hoping we get to take this babe home! Look forward to sharing this journey with you. X

Treaclepie19 · 29/07/2018 15:44

How exciting @Beekeeping Grin

I'm already getting the dreaded food aversion. It was so bad with my son.

Congratulations AlexiaB! What a long time you've been waiting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Particularpeanut · 29/07/2018 17:01

Hi everyone!
Congrats to everyone who’s got their BFP! Ours came yesterday at 12 dpo. I’m 32 and it’s #1 for us and just keeping everything crossed it goes okay. I don’t really feel any different yet and it wasn’t for getting a positive test I wouldn’t know (I know I should be grateful, but I thought after reading so much about TTC I’d feel different). Really excited to join this group, fingers crossed for healthy pregnancies ahead for everyone x

monkerina · 29/07/2018 20:20

Hello everyone and congrats!! Just sidling in at 4+2, got a faint positive at 10dpo and then 2-3 weeks on a clearblue test yesterday so finally starting to believe it.

I'm 32, DS is 2.5- still in my MN antenatal group from him! He took nearly 2 years to conceive, 2 mcs before him (1 missed, 1 early) then ttc #2 since he was 1; I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks in April and this is my first cycle after mc cycle (they're really long!) so all a bit unsettling really. Can't believe this is my 5th pregnancy!

Looking forward to getting to know you all and everyone having healthy happy successful pregnancies x

Fluffy475 · 30/07/2018 07:23

Anyone's emotions all over the place yet? I have just sobbed for a good 15mins over an advert!!! Plus my patience levels by the evening are not great.....my poor family!!

Question....for those with children, when are you telling them about being pg? I want to make sure things are safe but at the same because of them being older I don't want them to think their mum has turned into a nutcase!! :)))))))
