@Alicejj8x I mean sooooo happy for you.

Half asleep today!!!

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 14:49

@Baby160P
Ah thank you so much hun! Xx

DragonFlew · 30/07/2018 14:57

How lovely @Alicejj8x- at least you're reassured now. Also reassuring for those of us who symptoms are lessening!

That's great news @twiglet! I can't wait to see my little bean x

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 14:59

Oh lovely news @Alicejj8x try to relax a little now!

craftymum01 · 30/07/2018 15:05

My DS is in nursery 2 half days a week and we will keep him there. He only started in April and it does us both good. I think once baby has been here a couple of months (and DS is 3) we will up his time there to give me more time with baby. We are very lucky we also have both sets of parents on hand who like to have him a day a week.

It's difficult isn't it as financially it makes sense to have both at home but I want bonding time with just the new baby like I had with DS when he was first born.

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 15:10

@craftymum01 definitely - I'm just trying to balance the fact it's the best part of 1k a month😫 - hoping 2 sessions is the answer. That should be more affordable!

craftymum01 · 30/07/2018 15:13

@Since2016 that is a lot of money. Ours is £280 a month for two half days a week. Are you London?

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 15:16

@craftymum01 haha of course I am! It's a wonderful nursery it's just the cost. They're open 7:30-6:30 and right by the station - so you can imagine you pay a premium for it. Dreading having two in there although it will only be for about 18 months before DD starts school.

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 15:20

@Since2016 have you thought about having a nanny instead?

I'm a nannying for a living and I know that for 2 in nursery it works out better to have a nanny. Although it's not as sociable as in a nursery setting they're at home and I also go to all toddler groups etc in the area.

Just an idea

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 15:26

@Baby160P we have but not in any great depth. Hmm maybe something to consider... are part time nannies an option? We don't need full time just 2 days a week?

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 15:32

Just musing on this. It would make me the employer though wouldn't it -
So liable for pension, sick pay, maternity etc... unless we went through an agency which increases the costs...?

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 15:42

@DragonFlew symptoms was my main thing I asked her about today

She told me don't go on symptoms as a sign your pregnancy is 'healthy'/ going wrong. She said the amount of ppl that come in saying to her my symptoms have gone and wind there selfs up so much for everything to be ok ( which is what I did today lol)

She said at 8 weeks the placenta starts to take over so it's normal for symptoms to subside

AliceRR · 30/07/2018 15:45

It’s 3:45 and I am not sure how I will make it another two hours at work. I am exhausted and running on empty it feels like!! I thought this stage had passed. But it is my first day at work after a week off and I have a bit of a cold which might not help...

DragonFlew · 30/07/2018 15:47

@Alicejj8x that's good to know. I'm 10+1 and starting to feel better. Well - I have more good days than sick days!
I find that first thing in the morning I'm throwing up until I eat breakfast. Then I'm alright all day!
This one has been very different to my last 2 pregnancies though, with both my boys I was throwing up all day long for the first 11 weeks. This is more on and off again. I am noticing the stretching pain is returning now, haven't had it since about 7 weeks!

DragonFlew · 30/07/2018 15:49

Has anyone got the Ovia app? I did laugh now I'm 10 weeks baby is as big as a Lego man! I had to dig one out of DS1's collection. Made me smile because it's so tiny but my belly is so big haha!

craftymum01 · 30/07/2018 16:20

A friend of mine shares a nanny with a friend of hers. Costs all split down the middle. She is also London

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 16:23

@DragonFlew
Oh that's so normal hun I have been lucky compared to some of you ladies who have suffered with MS badly. It's been on and off and more gagging.

Stretching is all normal hun :) and all to be expected xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/07/2018 16:29

God craftymum your nursery is an absolute bargain! Ours is £55 a day so it's over £250 a month just for one day a month. DH pays through childcare vouchers though which helps.

Great scan alice Smile

I'm 9+6 (but probably more like 10 or 10+1) and I've definitely felt better since Friday. I'm still nauseous but it's not as aggressive or horrendous as before. I've not had to run to the loo to heave since Thursday, it's more an underlying nausea now. Thank god! Hopefully it'll just get better and better from here.

Yakadee · 30/07/2018 16:29

@DragonFlew - I loved the man too! I'm 13 weeks now and it's a little car! Lol x

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 16:32

@Since2016 yes people do look for part time jobs. There is a site called childcare.co.uk where people advertise rather than paying a agency fee f you know what you need to do with check and references etc. Some people with babies look to take heir baby/child to work with them too. Hope that helps xx

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 16:36

@Since2016 I pay half of my pension and my employer pays the other half. You do sick pay but no more than 3 days then it's statutory but I personally have been nannying for 10 years and have called in sick twice in that time because you can just get on with it most of the time.

If you want more info on wages etc there is a calculator which includes all costs here

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 16:37

@Since2016 and I get stating maternity which he government pay upfront, sorry for the essays!!!

craftymum01 · 30/07/2018 16:58

@lookingforadvice lol it’s not that cheap. For a full day it’s £65. We only put him in for mornings as I refuse to pay for him to nap for three hours. I’m quite tight like that

LookingAtTheStars89 · 30/07/2018 17:44

Does anyone else's pee smell? Mine never used to smell bit now it smells like popcorn!

DragonFlew · 30/07/2018 17:50

Anyone else getting baby brain already? I keep walking upstairs and completely forgetting what I've gone up there for 😂
