Thanks @emalady I haven't actually peed since last night now but have managed half a glass of water in the past hour or so which so far has stayed down so hopefully I'm through the worst. May give the gp a call anyway as I must be pretty dehydrated given I haven't weed in 12hrs now and my head is pounding.

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 09:26

Oh no @MrsY87 I'd definitely ring the GP. I do think it's dangerous to get too dehydrated and not sure where you are but it's warming up again here so even more reason to get checked out!

@clairehr I went to the GP. Definitely have an infection - deep joy. Antibiotics for me!

Good luck for scans today. It's natural to be nervous x

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 09:42

@emalady thank you yes if everything is ok
Today I will defo be fine till my scan :)

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 09:45

@Alicejj8x I said the same but the placenta does take over so it could be for that reason.

I am a worrier as you know but I hope everything goes well xxxx

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 09:51

@Baby160P I think in my mind I know I'm
Being silly but you just change shift the feeling when it's on you can you lol

Me tooo worrying is my biggest downfall and so far when I've had a scan my symptoms have been hardly there and everything's been ok.

Just got to think positive

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 09:52
  • can't shift the feeling that was meant to say lol
Lookingforadvice123 · 30/07/2018 09:52

Good luck everyone with scans today!!!

Picklesandpies · 30/07/2018 10:08

Poor you @MrsY87 - hope you feel better soon. Not what you need on top of morning sickness. I wonder whether any of the electrolyte sachets would be suitable for use in pregnancy? I always found they helped my head after a sickness bug as think you just get so depleted in minerals. Also - the cool gel strips for the forehead really helped me when I have had a migraine. Xx

Fredthespider · 30/07/2018 10:22

@AliceRR - my midwife actually said that it's ok to eat rare meat (at least she said it was ok to carry on ordering medium rare steak) so I wouldn't stress too much.

@Lulabell1 I don't blame you for not reading the whole thread!! We are a chatty bunch. Sorry you're not having the best holiday, hope the sickness eases up soon for you x

AliceRR · 30/07/2018 10:41

Thanks Fred

Tumon · 30/07/2018 10:57

Hi ladies! Sorry to hear about the sickness and suffering you’ve had. It’s a real struggle.

I had two tummy bugs in the last month (having not had one for about 10 years) and it was very grim. Couldn’t hold much down at all and was very dehydrated. I don’t know if it’s the weather having cooled down or just getting close to the 12 week mark but I’m feeling normal again, finally!

Scan this afternoon and am still nervous that all the sickness has impacted baby, but hopefully not.

Best of luck to all of you with Scans this week. May there be bouncing beans galore!

purplechandelier · 30/07/2018 12:07

@picklesandpies I have my scan today too... 1.30pm. Hope everything goes well for you and for amy other scans today!

welshweasel · 30/07/2018 12:42

All ok with my scan thankfully, date moved forwards so due on 4th Feb - 13 weeks today!

emalady · 30/07/2018 13:21

@welshweasel beautiful picture, that's the date we got at our scan too! Though I'm kinda keeping to ivf dates unless another scan says earlier too.

@tumon glad you are feeling a bit better.

Good luck all with scans today /this week.

DragonFlew · 30/07/2018 13:35

@welshweasel great picture!

Good luck to everyone else with scans today - it's a popular day for it!

I haven't even got a date for mine yet! Booking appt is on Wednesday!

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 13:38

@welshweasel lovely picture I'm glad all went well xx

twinklingelephant · 30/07/2018 13:40

Hi everyone, bit late to the party but I've kept away from boards as I've had two miscarriages in the past year. But I'm 11+4 now and feeling rough as anything so think I'm ok fingers crossed. I had a scan at 8 weeks and everything was ok, got my 12 week scan next Tuesday when I'll be 12+5. Can't wait for it, or for the nausea and exhaustion to pass. So much harder with a small one to look after as well this time, although he's 5 so is good at entertaining himself for a while. Nice to hear of so many happy scans, hopefully I'll be joining you with mine next week

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 13:55

Congratulations @welshweasel and welcome @twinklingelephant that all sounds very encouraging. My scan is on Monday - I'll be 11 + 3!

On an aside, what are those with other children doing re childcare while on mat leave? Are you taking them out of current arrangements or leaving them in? I'm anxious about this as she's so settled and I don't want to uproot her but it's also almost £800 a month (for 2 days a week). I reckon i could get her back into preschool from Sept so wouldn't be a long long time out, but would that make it too hard for her to adjust then? Possibly the wrong forum for this but given this is #2 for a lot of us I thought I'd ask!

welshweasel · 30/07/2018 13:57

I’m planning on leaving DS where he is. I’m only going to have 4-6 months off so I reckon it’s unfair to take him out.

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/07/2018 14:16

Great news on the scans!

Since2016 DS is currently only in nursery one day a week (he's with me on my day off one day, MIL one day and DM two days) but he's starting a Welsh medium playgroup 3
x mornings in September which is £11 per morning. I've applied for him to start school nursery in January so fingers crossed he gets in and that'll be free then. We will keep him in the private nursery one day though (they do wraparound with the school nursery) as I'll definitely want at least one full day with just the new baby. Plus it's not as expensive for us as it's only one day a month.

MrsY87 · 30/07/2018 14:33

Spoke to the GP who said just to keep sipping water, I've not been sick for 6hrs now so hopefully over the worst & my headache will go soon too.

DD is in nursery 3 days a week and stayed there whilst I was on mat leave with DS as I got a really good maternity package. However I haven't gone back to work this time so need to work out what we can afford as I think I'll struggling having 4 at home all the time! Will probably end up leaving DD there for 3 days as it's her final year before school & then sending DS 1.5/2 days. I really recommend having some days that are just you and the baby if you can afford to as it's so special having that one to one time and it's exhausting looking after both! I find that days I have both we tend to do things that DD wants to do and poor DS just gets dragged around although now he's getting bigger he can at least join in with some things!

Since2016 · 30/07/2018 14:34

@Lookingforadvice123 gosh that's a bargain! The 30 hours kicks in in April but it basically means v little for us.

Had a chat with DH - he's also leaning towards keeping her in, 2 sessions so maybe 2 mornings a week to give me a break and keep the continuity. @welshweasel - I think this is a good plan! My mum also does 2 days a week and I suspect she'll be on hand a lot too! Good to hear what others are doing.

Alicejj8x · 30/07/2018 14:44

Had our scan and all the worry was for nothing thankgod.

Bean was so so wriggly having a party in there the lady Said

We got a free DVD of bean and a 4D look aswell as hearing the heart beat.

Measuring 11 weeks exactly and Edd is now 18th Feb

If anyone lives near marlow I would 1000000% recommend the baby scan studio it is amazing cannot even describe how good they are.

Very happy and we got about 8 pics :) very very happy

Baby160P · 30/07/2018 14:47

@Alicejj8x ahhhh is happy for you!!!

twiglet · 30/07/2018 14:47

Second scan went well Smile although baby was a bit camera shy and not wanting to play ball kept doing somersaults all over the place! Eventually got 2 measurements.

Been a bit better with symptoms but vomited this morning when I checked the milk rookie error!
