Into months 7 and 8 of our pregnancies now.. this will most likely be our last 'pregnant' thread before we all have our babies!!

How did we get here? Feels like just yesterday we were waving hello from the TTC boards.

If anyone new would like to join please do, we also have a very busy (private) Facebook group for everyone due in August 2018.

I know how you feel @SaraLouise88 !!

I'm so over pregnancy now. You know it must be bad when you're looking forwards to child birth!! 😂

Emmasmum2013 · 22/08/2018 13:15

Sweep done. Was very uncomfortable :(
But she said I'm 2cm already and cervix is short and forwards so that's good.

Booked for induction on 3rd September if nothing happens before then.

Gem173 · 22/08/2018 16:13

@Emmasmum2013 I hope something happens before the 3rd Sep! Xx

somersetsinger · 22/08/2018 21:01

I had a sweep and went into labour later that day. I asked the midwife what I could do to help and she suggested sex and walking/bouncing on a birthing ball if I started to get cramps/Braxton Hicks. I think all of these things in combination worked, but it only because DD was fairly ready to come out.

Good luck, Emmasmum and SaraLouise!

Emmasmum2013 · 22/08/2018 23:13

I had the same advice @somersetsinger
I've lost some mucous plug this evening so hopefully the next 24 hours will be productive!!

Hjkillas · 24/08/2018 11:26

Just checking in to see how everyone's doing.. I've been busy with the baby so had no time to come and chat!
Her jaundice has gone now and she wants bottles allll the time. So me and the other half are up most the night as that's when she seems to want feeding the most.
Anyone else struggling to get baby to settle anywhere other than on mummy? I've had to sleep with her in bed with me a few times which I don't like doing for obvious reasons but I'm so exhausted. Already swapped the cot for abcrib as she will not settle on that but I'm assuming it's because of the firmer mattress x

Quick update - still waiting! Had another sweep this morning but nothing much seems to have come of it. I've had a few of the usual Braxton Hicks but nothing more.

I'm now 3cm dilated, cervix is at the front and baby's head is right there ready to come out!! The midwife even said "I don't know why you're not in labour yet!" Sad

WaitingforToto · 28/08/2018 19:56

I'm still waiting too @Emmasmum2013 🤨🙂 will you be booked in for an induction if you go much longer? How far over are you now? I'm 40+3 today. I've got a MW app tomorrow where I'll be offered a sweep and booked for an induction at 40+10 if nothings happened by then if I want one, which I haven't decided about yet. I'm thinking I'll ask to wait how long I can safely leave it to see if things start naturally - I'm in Leeds and apparently their standard time for inductions is 10 days over, but I know other areas will leave women for longer. First proper day of mat leave for me today and I'm bored out of my mind already xx

Emmasmum2013 · 28/08/2018 20:29

I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow. So this baby is now officially later than DD1 was (she was 40+4). It's so horrible waiting and wondering and not being able to do anything about it. Like being in limbo.

I've got my term + 10 appointment booked for the 1st sept which is just an assessment to see if you're ok for induction in a few days. If all goes well I'll be induced on the 3rd sept.

I'd really really like to not go that far as DD1 starts school on the 5th and I can't bear the thought of still being in hospital on her first day! I have to be home and back on my feet by then!

I know what you mean about the boredom. Even the nesting doesn't pass enough time since the house has been spotless for weeks now!! I suppose I just need to try and enjoy the days left of it just being us 3 before we become 4 and I have to change nappies again haha! Xx

Gem173 · 28/08/2018 20:49

Aw i feel for you ladies that are still waiting on the arrival of your little ones. My official due date is tomorrow, and i still feel like I should have been pregnant! I hope you are all keeping well and are trying to enjoy the last few days of your pregnancy. I feel like my pregnancy ended too quickly! With it being my first, I didn’t have time to think ‘well this is a nice experience but I’m done now’ haha. My oh and I are registering Lincoln tomorrow so he will be officially his own little person. Scary to think that oh will be going back to work next Tuesday and Il have to deal with the baby on my own from then on until he comes home at 5pm every day!

WaitingforToto · 28/08/2018 21:25

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you @Emmasmum2013 that you are in and out with your baby before Sept 5th then! I'm hoping to hold out until Saturday (sept 1st) so he isn't the youngest at school, so I'm hoping that nothing happens in the next 3.5 days but it doesn't really matter either way I guess.

Have a lovely day registering @Gem173 enjoy yourselves!

louella99 · 30/08/2018 01:02

Baby Jack born on Thursday by c section (breech) at 39 weeks. Totally in love.

Hope you still-pregnant ladies get to meet your little ones asap! Feel for you.

Awww @louella99 he's beautiful :) congratulations!

WaitingforToto · 30/08/2018 21:48

Congrats @louella99 he's gorgeous! Enjoy x

WaitingforToto · 30/08/2018 21:50

Anything happening for you yet @Emmasmum2013 ? Nothing going on here, my midwife was keen for me to be induced tomorrow (40+6) but I'm holding off until after the weekend and doing what I can to force him out before the hospital intervenes.

Gem173 · 31/08/2018 09:08

Congratulations @louella99 he’s beautiful xx

Emmasmum2013 · 31/08/2018 09:28

@WaitingforToto yeah I'm still here!
Got the appointment tomorrow for the assessment where they do another sweep (that'll be my third haha) and monitor baby for a bit. Then induction on Monday if it's all ok. I asked about getting in any earlier but there's no chance as they only do earlier than 40+12 for emergencies.

I've resigned myself to the induction now. I feel like if it was going to happen on its own it would have by now! 😂

I do have a very strong urge today to mow the lawns and do lots of cleaning. Bit m putting it down to the decent nights sleep I had last night.

Hope you're feeling ok!! X

Emmasmum2013 · 02/09/2018 04:24

She's finally here!!!!!
Was booked in for induction at 4pm Sunday and started having contractions at 8pm ish Saturday. Things progressed so fast and she was born at 1:07am.

I'm so relieved and happy and knackered 😂
Will post a pic as soon as I can.

somersetsinger · 02/09/2018 08:49

Congratulations on your new daughter, Emmasmum. Hope you're ok after a quick birth. And that you got some rest in the end last night.

Emmasmum2013 · 02/09/2018 09:11

Here she is. Eliza Isabella 9lb 4oz.
Was wide awake this morning but has refused her breakfast and gone straight back to sleep! (It's a hard life haha!)
