Hello all! I got my BFP this morning at 10dpo and am apparently due 1st March with my third baby. Now feeling that familiar paranoia about what might go wrong, but hopeful all will be well. Is anyone else due in March yet? 😬

@hamandpease I'm just going with eating anything I can face, as long as we're taking the vitamins and lining our stomachs with something I reckon we're OK for a few weeks! I ate very little between 5 and 10 weeks last time as the morning sickness was so bad and shaping up to similar this time, but all was fine and I made up for it once I felt better!

@peonylover22 yes I emailed ocado on Sunday as u have their supersweet sweetcorn but they just emailed back to confirm it's different to the Waitrose one and is safe. I'll probably still be sticking to tinned corn for the foreseeable though, listeria+pregnancy=v bad 😲

hamandpease · 10/07/2018 09:33

@Murphyrocks I'm taking folic acid, vitamin d and calcium - are you taking others?

SuperSharpShooter82 · 10/07/2018 09:40

I'm with you @murphyrocks, just eating anything I feel like. Not great for our shopping budget as I usually have a weekly meal plan which has gone completly out of the window. I blew off sea bass last night in favour of a plain jacket potato and cheese. I just couldn't stomach fish!

Crossing all for the scans coming up. Mine is Sunday when I will be 7+2. My sister is babysitting DD so me and DH can go, I am so nervous and know I will be a wreck on Sunday morning.

Also, and this is TMI, is anyone having lots of discharge? Mine is like EWCM all of a sudden. Its making me panic and I'm on major knicker watch.

WE NEED A NEW THREAD SOON MARCHERS! Smile

frankiefumbles · 10/07/2018 11:09

@SuperSharpShooter82 mine did that the last two days...but slightly cream coloured? Def tmi...sorry....

Murphyrocks · 10/07/2018 11:37

Yeah I've been getting creamy cm the last week or so, hope it's nothing to worry about? Hadn't event occurred to me to worry about it!

@hamandpease I take 2 sets of vitamins, calcium, vitamin D3 & omega 3 in the morning and iron, folic acid & a b complex vitamin at night. Calcium and iron inhibit absorption of the other so I choose to separate - plus taking all 6 individually only costs about 10p a day rather than 30p or 40p a day for a standard prenatal vitamin! Iron is the most important towards the end as a lot of 3rd trimester women become anaemic, but I take it right from the beginning as a preventative measure. Bit of a pg vitamin freak - I don't take vitamins at all normally!

@SuperSharpShooter82 I'm with you I usually love fish but can't face it at the moment - hence the omega 3 supplement above! Fx for Sunday!

RachaelT · 10/07/2018 12:14

Thanks for the tip @Murphyrocks as I was going to upgrade my simple Boots Folic plus vit D which I'd been taking whilst TTC to Pregnacare to get the additional nutrients. Will definitely look at separate, are yours Boots, Holland and Barrett or elsewhere?

RachaelT · 10/07/2018 12:24

Those of you who have had contact with midwives - if you went via GP how long did you wait between appointment with doctor and contact from midwifes? I told my Gp last Monday and had no contact and am 8 weeks a week on Friday.

Should I chase?

SuperSharpShooter82 · 10/07/2018 12:29

Hi @RachaelT I had to go via GP (I'm in London and GPs refer to the antenatal ward at local hospital) I had a letter for booking in app within a week (its tomorrow) and also have a date for my dating (12 week) scan already. They did say it could take two weeks but if I were you I would chase for peace of mind.

RachaelT · 10/07/2018 12:31

Thanks @SuperSharpShooter82 - will pop out to the local shop so no-one at work can hear my phone call 🤫

WildFlower2018 · 10/07/2018 12:36

@RachaelT I told the doctor I was preggo in an appt for something else, but she never mentioned what I had to do next. So I spoke with receptionist who gave me a Booking pack with leaflets & made me an appt to see midwife at their sister practise up the road.

RachaelT · 10/07/2018 12:40

Just called and in my practice you have to make an appointment with midwife for pre-booking in yourself, got mine next Wednesday now!

Murphyrocks · 10/07/2018 13:12

@RachaelT mine are Valupak which is what ocado sell, I used the boots own brand last time. Think they're much of a muchness! Glad you got your appointment sorted.

HidCat · 10/07/2018 15:07

@SuperSharpShooter82 discharge over here too, apparently it's normal as it's all keeping itself nice and clean.

I'm taking the seven seas pregnancy vits. £3 for 28 tablets in Savers so nice and cheap but has everything you need plus ginger to help nausea (which has cleared up since I started taking them). Will probably carry on with them all the way through unless I find information telling me otherwise.

SuperSharpShooter82 · 10/07/2018 15:18

I am taking Seven Seas too @HidCat! I did last time and like them as the packets have days on them so I don't forget! Plus they don't cost the earth.Think they are all much the same anyway.

HidCat · 10/07/2018 16:37

@SuperSharpShooter82 pretty much, there are a few differences but when I asked the midwife she said either is fine.

frankiefumbles · 10/07/2018 16:51

I'm interested about the extra iron. I assume at booking they would tell you if you are already low on iron but I like the idea of taking it preventatively. But it does stop the absorption of other things? Would that be an issue?

Sarahandduckarehigh · 10/07/2018 17:55

I'm taking a sachet of spatone in a glass of orange juice every couple of days. I was anaemic last time and want to avoid that.
I then take seven seas pregnancy vitamin in the evening which has a bit of everything in it. And I take an extra calcium tablet (separate from the spatone as they inhibit each other) as I am breastfeeding and still largely dairy-free because my son is allergic to cow's milk protein.
I'm toying with the idea of adding omega 3 too. But I rattle already!

@RachaelT I handed in the form to my Go's surgery on Thursday and heard from the midwife yesterday. The form said to chase them if I didn't hear from them in a week.

puravida31 · 10/07/2018 18:04

It seems to be a bit different down here (Hampshire) as my GP just told me to wait to hear from the midwives, and I should hear from them by 10 weeks (which seems rather late to me). No mention of a booking in appointment or registering myself or anything, I’m
starting to wonder if I should double check though!
On a lower tone - I can’t remember who was talking about being, um, a bit ‘bunged up’ but yes! I’ve had that particular delight the last few days...oh the glamour of it all

Anyday88 · 10/07/2018 18:10

Hi All,

I have phoned my midwives today, the woman on the phone said she doesn't normally do that job so didn't know whether I would get an early scan or anything after my miscarriage. She just told me to wait for my letter. In April when I rang I got my letter with my booking in appointment at 9 weeks and date for my 12 week scan within the week so we will see.

I always think it's so strange that everywhere is so different when it comes to these things.

Sounds similar to here @welshsoph but the only thing is if you've not been through the process how do you know you need to self-refer? It was only a chance phone call today that got my pre-booking appointment booked in.

I'll be interested to know what the pre-booking in appointment entails if you could please let me know?

pushit · 10/07/2018 19:32

How is everyone who was spotting? Really hope you're all okay xx

@pushit My spotting is now full blown clotting and cramping so have scan at 11:30 tomorrow to confirm miscarriage. Unable to tell my family due to my sister being in labour right now so need to leave it some time before I dampen the mood. So excited to meet my nephew but at the same time I think I'm just going to cry. This is my second loss whilst my sister has been pregnant.

hamandpease · 10/07/2018 20:53

Oh @RedRobinThanksThanksThanks
