Hello all! I got my BFP this morning at 10dpo and am apparently due 1st March with my third baby. Now feeling that familiar paranoia about what might go wrong, but hopeful all will be well. Is anyone else due in March yet? 😬

Thanks @thefirsttimer! Yes I'll probably test each morning until I get a proper strong line - with ds I did one every 1-2 days and now have all tests lined up with the progression of the test line in his baby book, quite a nice little memento! Just not after it's about the same as the control line as the high levels of hcg can make the test go funny after that!

thefirsttimer · 22/06/2018 22:42

That does sound like a lovely momento Murphy Smile! I've kept the FRER and CB I did last weekend which both have strong lines on, so it's good to know I'm not strange in doing so 😂.

Fingers crossed for a nice strong BFP for you in the morning!

Shampooeeee · 23/06/2018 07:26

Hello,
I’ve got a due date of the 1st March too!
Tested on Wednesday night and got a good line but I couldn’t help testing again today. Have already been on Amazon looking at clear blue Blush. Early pregnancy makes me a bit crazy.

Wineandchoccy · 23/06/2018 07:45

Has anybody had any symptoms yet? I feel a bit sick/odd but don’t know whether I’m imagining it

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 07:51

@thefirsttimer yes I often look back on it - highly recommend a baby book with stuff like that and birth story, first words etc if you're that sort of person.

@Shampooeeee hi and congratulations! Yeah I know what you mean, I took a frer and ic this morning despite getting my bfp on frer yesterday; line stronger on frer and faint line on ic which was bfn yesterday (too early to show on it) so keeps me happy that hcg levels are rising like they should!

Shampooeeee · 23/06/2018 07:52

I was prompted to test by being sensitive to smell. It only happened once though and I haven’t had any other symptoms.

SuperSharpShooter82 · 23/06/2018 07:53

I kept all my tests too!!! Haha!

Hi Shampooee! The crazy is setting in here too. Even though I've got two good lines I'm still going to test again tomorrow Confused

I have sore/tingly nipples, which isn't great when I am still breastfeeding DD (once a day at bedtime). I also feel a bit sick this morning but not sure if I'm imagining it! Last time I didn't really have any symptoms (just crazy bleeding) and I bet it will be just my luck that now I have a toddler I will get morning sickness!

SuperSharpShooter82 · 23/06/2018 07:54

Great that the line is stronger Murphy! Really hope it all works out for all of us and we all get to enjoy this journey together!

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 08:22

Thanks @SuperSharpShooter82! Yes these tests keep me happy - although trying to do them with an (almost) 2yo and an inquisitive 11yo chasing me around was a little challenging! Fingers crossed it works out for all of us!

I weaned my ds just before we started ttc so it didn't impact anything, plus I've heard people get feeding aversion in early pg so thought I'd stop before it became an issue. Fed until 21 months, felt like I'd paid my dues! Although it messed with my hormones and made the first cycle anovulatory which was less than helpful!

My morning sickness was awful last time around 5-11 weeks so really hoping I might get off more lightly this time, really won't be helpful for running around after a toddler! Bleeding doesn't sound good, fx you skip that this time...

thefirsttimer · 23/06/2018 09:48

Hi Shampooeeee congratulations! Don't worry I'm another one who's done about 8 tests so far Grin. I did a CB digital with weeks indicator a few days ago, so I think I'll buy two more to do at weekly intervals. That way when the weeks go up it should reassure me somewhat!

Wine my nipples are really sore and I do feel a bit sick already! Completely lost my appetite too.

Murphy that's a definite BFP on that FRER! Congratulations!

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 10:12

Thanks @thefirsttimer, yes much more confident after that result! Also one of the other ladies on my ttc forum has just had a bfp which is exciting, hopefully she'll come on here too soon! I plan to test every couple of days for a while just to reassure myself...

Shampooeeee · 23/06/2018 10:17

Thanks for the welcomes. I’m also still breastfeeding my toddler. I’ve been trying to reduce it for a while now but he has other ideas Hmm
Murphy that’s a great line!
Sorry to hear about your mmc wine. I also had one before DS so I am trying not to get too excited this time around.
Good plan first, if I buy a two pack with the weeks indicator, I should get 2-3 next week and 3+ the week after.

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 11:00

@Shampooeeee yes I really wanted to natural wean with ds but he was still going strong at 21 months so I decided to take matters into my own hands! He actually took to the weaning much better than I expected, I just had dh do the lprnibg and night times when he was feeding for a few days to break the cycle.

Yes sounds a good plan on testing! I'll never have the willpower to wait whole weeks in between though Grin

SuperSharpShooter82 · 23/06/2018 11:39

Nice to find some long term BFeeders! I think most toddlers self wean as the milk dries up/changes. Aware of aversion and hoping I can manage as it's just one feed a day. I'm very much a "go with the flow" type mum (aka lazy!) I am happy to keep feeding her and just see what happens/deal with it when we come to it.

That's a definite positive in that photo!

I'm going to test again tomorrow but I don't like the weeks indicator tests. Last time they were all off and all it did was freak me out! Sticking with FRERs and monitoring the line! Really really want this to all be ok!!!

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 12:04

Fx all will be OK @SuperSharpShooter82, I looked up the mc stats (stupid I know but I need information to feel in control!) and as of yesterday I had a 24.9% chance of mc, dropping 0.7% each day for first couple of weeks then 0.6, 0.5 etc until I get to the 1% in exactly 10 weeks from now. So the way I look at it each day the chances of this pregnancy meaning a baby in March get a little bit higher. Which is cheering!

Yeah I thought about just continuing until the milk dried up when pg, but it was turning into a dreaded chore for me rather than a bonding thing and I read it can reduce your chances of conceiving again so I made the call to stop at that point.

I reckon there's more people still bfing toddlers/small children than most people realise, it's just usually confined to the home when they're not so little so people don't see it. I never intended to feed so long, just worked out that it worked for us to keep going a bit longer!

thefirsttimer · 23/06/2018 13:11

Super if that happened with the weeks indicator tests then I would definitely freak out! I thought it'd be a good way of getting some reassurance but maybe not Shock

Murphy those are encouraging stats, and it's a good way of looking at things, day by day. Unfortunately I have a couple of health problems (only found out during the ttc process) that mean my chances of mc are higher, so I'm on edge about it. Thankfully I'm on medication for them now though so trying to remember that and trusting that it means those chances are reduced 🤞🏼.

Those of you with DC already, are you looking forward to telling them the news Smile. This is our first and I already can't wait for that moment next time! I bet it's really special.

SuperSharpShooter82 · 23/06/2018 13:22

So I just ordered an "I'm going to be a big sister t shirt" for DD. Cheesy I know but thought it would be a fun way to tell the grandparents.

Now feeling stupid and like I will jinx something bad happening Blush

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 13:36

@SuperSharpShooter82 OMG I so wanna do that now! Might hold off a week or two at least, but my parents are staying with us in a couple of weeks so as you say might be a cute way to tell them.

@thefirsttimer sorry to hear there's health issues, fx all will still be well and the meds do their job. We have complications too as ds suffered a stroke during labour so spent his early days in NICU and has some resulting brain damage (although you'd never know it if you didn't know, brain plasticity at birth is amazing!) - not sure if my pregnancy will be considered high risk or not as a result but again trusting that all will be well this time. They did say there's no increased risk with another pg but I'll definitely ask about it at the booking appointment at the GP. Has anyone booked one yet?

And yes can't wait to tell ds he's going to have a baby brother or sister - he absolutely loves babies and is always taking care of them at nursery and when we go to playgroups so I'm hoping he's going to take to it really well. Famous last words! Not sure how the dss (dear stepson) will take it though - he's 11 so understands about how babies are conceived so he'll probably be grossed out!

Shampooeeee · 23/06/2018 13:43

Super that sounds cute. Don’t worry about jinxing.

I’m excited about telling DS, although he might be disappointed it’s a human and not a puppy!
First fx that your medication works well.

I am also an accidental long term breastfeeder! Always thought I’d stop at 1 but he wasn’t ready and now he’s 2 and we are still going. Think I’ll wind it down over the next 6 months, I don’t have the energy for tandem feeding.

Shampooeeee · 23/06/2018 13:46

Haha Murphy how did DSS deal with your last pregnancy announcement? I guess he is more worldly wise now!

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 13:52

@Shampooeeee yeah he was really excited about the first one bc it meant a sibling on each side (he has a brother from his Mum and her current dh too) but at 8 yes he wasn't really aware of what that meant logistically! Plus the house will be quite full now and don't want him to feel replaced or unwanted. Delicate balance I think.

I have a couple of friends who tandem fed - I'm in awe but it was never going to be for me. I'm amazing I went as long as I did tbh.

RedRobin7 · 23/06/2018 16:25

Hi ladies, just spotted a March thread in the pregnancy boards and then came across this one too so I'm just going to copy and paste.. I've been following the Feb boards for a while but been too scared to join. I'm either 4+1 or +2, wasn't exactly sure which date I ovulated. So my EDD is either 28th Feb or 1st March. I've been very nervous about joining as I'm still too anxious to accept the fact I'm pregnant. I was pregnant in January, had an 8 week scan in Feb and heard the heartbeat and then at the 12 week scan we'd found out the baby had died. So that was only 3 months ago and I'm terrified of losing this one too. I've only had 2 faint lines on FRERs earlier this week and a positive on a CB digital but still not feeling reassured. I don't want a POAS obsession as I had to do many of those after the MC to check my hormone levels had gone back to normal. It's really not healthy!

Need as much support as I can get on here as it's a long road to 12 weeks! I've got a private scan booked at 8+5 so fingers crossed. My DH just doesn't understand and hasn't been very supportive so I'm so glad I've met so many wonderful people on MN.

Oh and this will hopefully be DC1, I'm 29 and live near Reading.

thefirsttimer · 23/06/2018 19:21

Super that sounds great, don't worry about jinxing anything - it'd just be another thing to add to the long list of worries!

Thanks Murphy here's hoping! Sorry to hear about your DS's stroke, that must have been a scary time! Glad all is well now and will keep my fingers crossed for you that it's smooth sailing this time around 🤞🏼.

Thanks Shampooeeee Smile

Hi Red congratulations! So sorry to hear about what you've been through, it's completely understandable that you'd be terrified right now. Wishing you all the luck in the world, fingers crossed we can all go through this journey together!

Murphyrocks · 23/06/2018 19:54

Sorry to hear that @RedRobin7, that sounds awful and can completely understand why you'd be nervous this time around. Looking at some stats (I'm planning to have an 8 week scan too to hopefully hear heartbeat) there's a less than 2% chance of mc after hearing it at 8 weeks, so you'd have to have seriously, seriously bad luck for it to happen twice. Fx for you.

Thanks @thefirsttimer, yes it was a really scary time but I'm fortunate that we all came out the other side pretty much no worse for wear. Just hope it doesn't mean anything bad for this time.
