Thinking of you *Jade. Hope it all starts to move very soon.

Congratulations to all those who've had their babies already. Smile

RockinRobinTweets · 03/06/2018 13:57

jade hope you get your baby soon. The wait is soul destroying.

Watchingmasterchef · 03/06/2018 15:07

Jade this sounds absolutely horrible, you must feel helpless. Hopefully very soon it will all be a distant memory

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 03/06/2018 15:24

@WreckitRach Congratulations!

@jadeward89 Thinking of you, hope you get on the labour ward soon.

jadeward89 · 03/06/2018 16:41

Thank you all, baby will be here by Wednesday.
I’ve finally spoken to a mw and she said if I went home I’d loose my spot, however My csec is still booked for Wednesday so we’ve made a plan. I’m staying in tonight until tomorrow afternoon/eve, if nothing has happened I will be going home before my pre op on Tuesday and then section on Wed. Fingers crossed this plan actually goes accordingly 😊
Hope you are all ok

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 18:06

@jadeward89 that sounds like a fab plan. At least you know worst case scenario weds you will have your baby

@dinosaursatemydaffodils are you feeling any better about your c section?

I can't believe this time tomorrow I'll be a parent, keep repacking the hospital bag as I'm so sure I've forgotten something. Our snack situation is incredibly good though which makes me feel better in case the food is horrid, sorting that has been a brilliant distraction.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 03/06/2018 18:30

@Northernbeachbum I'm bouncing from one extreme to the other at the moment. Sensible (hah) me says that going for a spinal and allowing the possibility that it could be a positive experience makes far more sense than going for a general which they will allow assuming cough gets no worse. Sensible isn't generally a word people use in connection with me though.

Good luck for tomorrow. What's in your snack bag? I've got protein bars, prawn cocktail crisps and dh will pick up brie and salami crusty rolls with spicy relish for me once baby is here but other than that I'm slightly stuck for ideas. I think the trick with hospital food is to order the stuff which doesn't sound amazing but is really hard to screw up to the point of being inedible, like soup, curry, jelly etc. Last time I ordered cauliflower cheese...won't be making that mistake again should it be on the menu.

Watchingmasterchef · 03/06/2018 19:05

Glad you are talking about hospital food ! Now just about to pack some salt !

Justanervousmess2018 · 03/06/2018 20:09

@dinosaurs was your last c section an emergency one? Do they think it was the spinal that caused the hallucinations?

Snacks, well, cereal bars, protein bars, apples, satsumas, strawberries, a sandwich which is the same as yours, and a massive pasta salad. We've got enough for DP too so he can just stay without issues. Luckily we have a very large cool box and the hospital car park is shady so everything should survive. We've got enough in case the hospital food is inedible both of us will be full.

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 20:19

Well just given away my name change thread Blush

ElizabethLemon · 03/06/2018 21:45

Congrats rach! Hope you’re getting on ok!

Jade I’m so sorry you’re still waiting, id be going mad by now. Really hope you haven’t got much longer to wait!

@Northernbeachbum good luck for tomorrow, I’ll be thinking of you. You will be fine, I was terrified before my section and while it’s not something I’d choose to do on a regular basis it was fine. One thing I wish I’d done, and it’s the hardest possible thing, is relax! The staff will really look after you and reassure you plus I was shocked at how quick it was. Baby was out in about 10 mins and once they’re there you forget everything else anyway!

We’re doing ok! Baby is feeding pretty well but being checked regularly for signs of dehydration. The paed dr was a bit worried that he was showing signs of jaundice earlier but the test came back fine so that was a relief. Fingers crossed that tomorrow we’ll be given a time for the MRI which keeps being delayed as it’s not urgent enough, then maybe we’ll be able to get out of here!

I had a hard night last night and felt like I was going a bit mental. Baby wouldn’t settle, I was boiling hot and utterly exhausted. Been feeling better today but still a bit weepy, it’s to be expected though and I am totally in love with my gorgeous boy.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 03/06/2018 21:53

@Northernbeachbum Definitely not anything to do with a spinal and yes it was an emcs. I had a converted epidural given at full dilation which I think is slightly different drugs anyway but it was a combination of no sleep (last night of proper sleep I got was the Thursday night, ds was born on Tuesday), dehydration (waters were broken for 81 hours and fluid was pouring out of me), gas & air and running a fever.

@ElizabethLemon It's good that they don't think the MRI is urgent but fingers crossed you get a time tomorrow so you can escape soon. I don't understand why they think maternity hospitals need to be quite so hot surely there is a fine line between making sure babies are warm enough and stopping the mothers from melting.

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 22:05

@Elizabethlemon it's great to hear he's doing so Well and they don't see him as urgent. It's difficult being in hospital for you too I'm sure. You're doing so Well both of you. Thank you for the tips too.

@dinosaursatemydaffodils ah so a whole host of causes. It's so hard to know what's for the best im sure

jadeward89 · 03/06/2018 22:54

I’m on labour ward yay!! 😆

Northernbeachbum · 04/06/2018 05:59

@jadeward89 that was great news to wake up to!

Just getting ready before the long journey to hospital. I can't believe today is finally here

Watchingmasterchef · 04/06/2018 06:38

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 04/06/2018 11:16

@jadeward89 and @Northernbeachbum Hope things are going well and you're both getting cuddles right about now x

Addy2 · 04/06/2018 12:36

Hope things go well for you @jade and @northernbeachbum. Thinking of you.

Afm, 38 weeks today and impatient already! Anyone else busily symptom spotting?

Watchingmasterchef · 04/06/2018 14:08

I’m 38 on Wednesday . Keep having period like pains and Braxton Hicks and thinking I’m in labour ! DS born at 38 so it’s possible- although stops if I sit down and have a rest . What about you?

Northernbeachbum · 04/06/2018 14:17

He's here and cuddled up Smile

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 04/06/2018 14:44

@Northernbeachbum Yay! Congratulations.

Shutupanddance1 · 04/06/2018 14:53

@Addy2 I’m 39 weeks tomorrow but I’m utterly convinced I’ll go the whole 42 weeks if let.

Baby hasn’t dropped nor have I any symptoms so I’ve stopped trying to annoy myself about it and I’m trying to enjoy the last weeks/days of having DD1 on her own/knowing I’ll at least get 5 hours sleep Grin

Shutupanddance1 · 04/06/2018 14:54

@Northernbeachbum congratulations!! Hope you are feeling ok!
