@Lali1 that sounds quite positive, I hope they heal themselves when baby is born. When's your DD?

I haven't been called to the labour ward tonight, not going to lie, did have a cry earlier out of frustration.

jadeward89 · 01/06/2018 23:18

@Lali1 glad to hear the consultant is positive about the outcome. Hope that’s put your mind at some rest.

Not going up tonight for me either, think I might just move into the hospital 😕 I’m gutted that I have missed all of half term with my kids I’m just hoping I can make it up to them. I’ve seen them for the equivalent of one day over the last week so I am feeling so guilty right now.
I will be lucky if I get up to labour ward tomorrow as my hospital just seems so busy. Hope you get up tomorrow @wreckitrach

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 02/06/2018 00:14

@Northernbeachbum Thursday for me. First on the list though due to previous mental health issues...think they are afraid if I have to wait too long I'll run away although I can barely walk at the moment due to baby's huge head in my pelvis. They run two theatres, one for emergencies, one for electives so hopefully it will be over pretty quickly.

@jadeward89 & @wreckitrach Hope things progress quickly. Could you order some spicy food or a ton of pineapples? Can you go for a walk? Ds was back to back and walking around the hospital complex one foot on the kerb, one on the road helped kick start labour and I got from 2cm to 5cm and onto the labour ward pretty quickly.

Lali1 · 02/06/2018 00:21

@Wreckitrach my DD is 27th June...hope will get close to it as baby is good weight now ( estimated 2.550 kg/ 5lbs 10oz) but would use some more...
Sorry they keep you in hospital so long, it must be hard just to wait...

@jade, we are somewhat relieved, yes...hope she will be just fine and have a strong heart.
keep my fingers crossed for you too, maybe tomorrow is the bday for your baby!

Hope you can get some good rest over night.Flowers

Watchingmasterchef · 02/06/2018 03:31

@northern mine not till 18th. Had sudden swollen feet and fingers from Thursday. Just normal pregnancy and hot weather I’m thinking - but wondering if can get blood pressure checked at a chemist?

ElizabethLemon · 02/06/2018 06:20

Hi all, my gorgeous boy was born just after 3pm on Thursday weighing 8lb3oz. After a brief cuddle he was taken off to SCBU for monitoring and tests and to await his MRI. I was able to go up and see him at about 10pm when I was more mobile. Heartbreaking is definitely the word and not being able to be with him all the time was horrendous. This morning though, at 3.30 they let him come onto the ward with me as they agreed he needed no more monitoring or fluids.

ElizabethLemon · 02/06/2018 06:25

Oops posted too soon.

He’s doing really well and I’ve just got to make sure we keep doing well at BFing as it would be dangerous for him to get dehydrated with his neuro problem. He’s quite sleepy so I’ve got to be proactive at getting him on the boob.

Anyway, I wanted to share my lovely news! I
Hope everyone is doing well and that there’ll be some more babies soon. I’ve posted a photo of my boy on the FB group page..

Lali1 · 02/06/2018 06:42

Congrats @Elizabeth! So good you have him with you now, you can keep him close while Bfding 😊, best whishes to you!

ClareB83 · 02/06/2018 08:38

WreckItRach · 02/06/2018 08:59

Congratulations @ElizabethLemon ! How lovely!

@Dinosauratemydaffodils I have been walking around and up and down stairs and bouncing on the ball. I will try the kerb thing. I'm finding it so frustrating because there are women who come in and lie in bed all day and get taken to labour ward, I'm trying so hard!

@jadeward89 I hope you get in today too, ours is ridiculously busy as well, the midwife said "well, hopefully you can go today" but apparently they only have five midwives so they are only taking down the occasional person in case people walk in off the street.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 02/06/2018 09:58

@ElizabethLemon Congratulations!

WreckItRach · 02/06/2018 11:56

I'm in the labour ward! Yay!!! I hope you all have a good day x

SparklesandBubbles · 02/06/2018 12:25

@ElizabethLemon so glad you got a first cuddle and that's brilliant news he's now on the ward with you. Congratulations!!

Watchingmasterchef · 02/06/2018 13:23

congratulations Elizabethlemon !

WreckItRach · 02/06/2018 17:36

Little Max was born at 2pm this afternoon with an "emergency" csection. I use air quotes because it was more chilled than that, I had my waters broken, turns out Max was breech, so they stationed the troops and half an hour later we walked to surgery.
He is 6lb 13oz and gorgeous 😊

jadeward89 · 02/06/2018 17:48

Congratulations @Wreckitrach 😊

Justanervousmess2018 · 02/06/2018 19:54

Congrats @ElizabethLemon and @wreckitrach, loving all these birth announcements

@ElizabethLemon I hope all is going well with feeding so you're settled on the ward

Lali1 · 02/06/2018 20:01

Congrats @WreckitRach! I bet he is gorgeous!🤗

Watchingmasterchef · 03/06/2018 06:38

Congratulations wreckitrach! Shitting myself with all the birth announcements..

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 07:37

Amazing news with all the new arrivals @Elizabethlemon and @wreckitrach!!

How are you getting on now @Elizabethlemon?

@watchingmasterchef I'm much the same. My c section has been moved to tomorrow and I'm quite frankly terrified

jadeward89 · 03/06/2018 09:18

Hope everyone is doing well. And all babies born are having wonderful snuggles.
It’s been a week since my induction was started and I am still waiting to meet the baby 😢 I’m actually feeling really shit about it all now. The hospital is clearly over crowded but they still keep inducing more women!
I don’t blame the staff by any means they just do as they are told but I am going crazy and I’m honestly loosing the will to go through with labour now. Hormones are horrible.

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 09:34

Oh wow @jadeward89 that must be so frustrating. The same thing happened to a friend of mine, they'd have a quiet moment so would put in a pessary, they'd get busy and then hold off anything else. Went on for 5 days. Poor staff are so over stretched

jadeward89 · 03/06/2018 09:49

My initial induction had failed by Wednesday so I had steroids so I could have a csec booked for next week. Went in Thursday for next steroid inject and they offered me a sweep, I was 2cm and they could break my waters so booked me back in on the ward I’d been on previously to wait to go up, that was Thursday. Came in Friday told I was priority (unless someone came in bleeding etc) was told the same yesterday too.
Poor staff are streatched too thin and all they can say when asked to jump is how high. Really sad state of affairs.

Northernbeachbum · 03/06/2018 09:53

Could you go home until Wednesday now? Or would you rather wait it out?
