@Tinypawz I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow morning. Hoping all goes well.

@Saraswati I had a call about my German measles immunity last time. Apparently its not top level immunity and I should be fine but they needed to make me aware of it. I'm sure it'll be something like that. I hate it when you get a call and can't get a reply. Could you text her mobile in case she picks up later and say you're anxious to know why she called?

TheImprobableGirl · 09/04/2018 19:03

@tinypawz really hope everything goes well at EPU, I felt better once I’d told my best friend, just because I would have spoken to her anyway (actuallly ended up telling her before DH Grin needed to let off steam on the way home from the dr’s!)
The feeling in your stomach will go soon, I ended up going to bed early, having a little cry into the pillow, and then before I knew it it was morning! At least it’s nice and early- best of luck xx

TheImprobableGirl · 09/04/2018 19:05

Thanks for reminding me about white vinegar @badbadbeans I use it prolifically on the windows. I will go and buy another coupl of bottles. I love the smell of bleach though Blush

Potkettleblack2 · 09/04/2018 19:23

I'm the same Amaretto re teaching-I'm really hoping they hire my replacement from Sept which would really lighten my load on the run up to mat leave.

I've also told a few people-I hate telling lies to close friends/family and would rather just cautiously tell them. I didn't tell anyone with my first, and I much prefer it this way.

GreenMeerkat · 09/04/2018 19:29

Had my booking appointment today. In a different area to my last two pregnancies and was so much better. Much better organised and was in and out in 30 mins (took 2 hours last 2 times)!

Booked scan then and there too for 24th April. Exciting!

Tyrionsbitch · 09/04/2018 19:49

Hi all, finally caught up after a few days away.
How long did it take people to get their scan date after their booking appointment? Been a week since mine and heard nothing ...

sarahhh1984 · 09/04/2018 20:07

@TinyPawz Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Got everything crossed for you. If I were you, I'd tell your auntie as it may make you feel better and she'll be able to support you. But it's completely up to you.

MiniMinions · 09/04/2018 20:46

@Tyrionsbitch I was given a number to call to book and to make the call within 7 days from booking appointment. Did your midwife say they would send details? No harm in calling hospital/midwife and chasing it?

BadBadBeans · 09/04/2018 21:49

@Saraswati How frustrating - I hope you manage to get hold of the midwife early tomorrow. I found out during my first pregnancy that I am not immune to CMV, which made me a bit twitchy as at the time I was teaching five-year-olds! And I also thought I could maybe feel movement earlier today, but I'm only 8+4 so I'm sure it was just gas Grin

@TinyPawz I'm echoing the other ladies and saying that if I were in your shoes I would tell the aunt! I too hate the feeling of lying to people - especially when your brain is just screaming 'I'M PREGNANT! I'M PREGNANT!' while you're trying to hold a normal conversation with them! Best of luck with your scan tomorrow.

@TheImprobableGirl Ha! I really don't like the smell of bleach so it's no hardship to me not to use it!

I've just been trying to fill out my notes booklet as instructed by my GP prior to my booking-in. Didn't have to do that in the previous place I lived! I've done my best but had to leave quite a few boxes blank as I need to double check exactly what they mean... (For example, 'Have you had an operation?' I suppose yes, I've had a C-section, but does the question mean other than birth-related operations?! Goodness knows...)

marchblossom · 09/04/2018 22:23

@BadBadBeans @Saraswati I also thought I felt movement the other day! I'm 8+5 ish.

I also teach 5 year olds and haven't heard of those checks. I guess I will find out more at my booking appointment.

Off to Lanzarote tomorrow, which was going to be a week of relaxing in the sunshine, copious amounts of much needed vit D, ocean swimming, pool dips etc etc. BUT my weather app show highest temps are apparently around 16-17c at the moment - it's average is 24 this time of year!! It seems they're having a bit of a cool spell. I'm so gutted! Fingers crossed it changes and warms up!!Confused

JustBeJoy · 09/04/2018 23:07

Hello ladies!
Dear oh dear, these messages are so confusing to me :) It's my first pregnancy, just 7 weeks, I live far from my family (in France) and my partner still lives abroad (in Brazil) so I thought I'd join on here to familiarise myself with... all that's going on.
I'm not experiencing sickness but pretty horrendous pain at times. Did all the possible tests and all seems good so I guess I'll have to ride with it (and paracetamol).
@Windy1234, I am experience bearable lower back pain, but I kind of thought it was normal.

olderthanyouthink · 10/04/2018 01:01

I spoke too soon about it feeling nauseous anymore, hit me like a ton of bricks Saturday afternoon. I guess my hormone levels had plateaued and then surged again.

I take Sertraline because of my depression but because I've felt so rough I hadn't taken it for a few days. I took it yesterday at work and despite taking it with food I got the most horrendous heartburn that was so painful and making me feel even sickier so I ended up going home Sad.

I'm also super gassy now which is v. Blush as am in a super new relationship, romance is going out the window thanks to my body being icky.

That chart says I'm having a boy, we both think it's a boy but we call it poppy (poppyseed) so refer to it as a she Hmm

Re maternity leave, not sure how long I'll take, maybe up until the pay stops because London is expensive 😭. I'm definitely going back to work, for my sanity, career, independence and... oh yeah super new relationship!!

Thanks everyone. Visit to aunt was postponed unfortunately. Have taken yet another test. Positive. Dp is not getting my worry, this will be his first, he has not had any losses so doesn't understand. 7 more hours

MrsFTigalar · 10/04/2018 06:00

Oh @TinyPawz I hope today's ok and that you got some rest. I really do.

I'm volunteering at an Easter holiday club this week, and am slightly concerned I've taken on too much. I was supposed to be assisting, but got a call to ask me to lead, which is going to mean more responsibility and running around more. I'm not sure how I'm going to hide the sickness when working with 15 kids!

MeredithShepherd · 10/04/2018 07:03

@TinyPawz good luck this morning!

keepinghopeful · 10/04/2018 08:00

Thinking of you & good luck @TinyPawz

GreenMeerkat · 10/04/2018 08:24

Good luck this morning @TinyPawz

Been getting some very annoying period type cramps last day or two. Not had them before really. Not painful as such, just irritating. Hoping it's normal and just stretching down there Confused

TinyPawz · 10/04/2018 09:15

Thank goodness. All is good. Measuring 7w3d. And relax

Fab news @TinyPawz! Smile

keepinghopeful · 10/04/2018 09:22

Ah brilliant 😊😊

petiteange28 · 10/04/2018 09:26

@TinyPawz pleased to hear all is good. What a relief!

@Magpie24 I'm in the same boat. I earn quite a bit more than my husband and we are in central London. With DS1 I went back to work after 5 months (I was only paid full pay for 3 months) and then my husband did a month of SPL (as his company pay for 6 months full pay). It was so hard going back that early but I had to do it for the family Sad. Now with another on the way I just don't know what we'll do as we need to get a bigger place, probably move further out, and then there is the additional childcare costs.....I'm wondering if I can convince my DH to be a SAHD!!!! Hmm

Had a scan last night and measuring a few days later than I thought at 8+3 so due 17th Nov now. Heart was pumping away but it's only about 1.5cm at the moment - teeny tiny!

TinyPawz · 10/04/2018 09:26

Home to bed for me. Exhausted. Didn't sleep a wink last night turning myself simple with worry

olderthanyouthink · 10/04/2018 09:30

@TinyPawz aww, that's great. Now rest Smile

sarahhh1984 · 10/04/2018 09:35

@TinyPawz I'm so happy for you! You must be so relieved. Now you can get some well earned rest.

@petiteange28 Glad your scan went well too! Really pleased for you.

LastNightsMakeUp · 10/04/2018 09:48

Congratulations @TinyPawz excellent news.

I took 14 months off when we had dd with mat leave and annual leave. I went back for 6 months and then left in February this year. I had always loved work and been very driven and ambitious but my career paled into insignificance when dd arrived. I was really really shocked as never thought I'd feel that way and was adamant I'd be going back to work. I feel really lucky to be able to be a SAHM though as it's definitely a luxury. Luckily I'll just qualify for maternity allowance - every little helps!
