Thanks all for your messages. I had a terrible nights sleep filled with all sorts of worse case type dreams. However despite that from what I’ve read on the internet everything is very positive and the chances of anything being wrong are slim. But is something is wrong apparently the NHS offer the NIPT now? Anyone else heard of this? If not I’m happy to do amino or whatever to get a clearer result, but like some of you have already said it is within range and really I should just wait for my official test and bloods. Good to know you only waited a week for the results whizzer. I’m definitely leaving it until after the scan before I tell the kids and most people. Sorry for the worry and negativity, my last 2 mc have sent normal worry-free me out the window and replaced me with a neurotic version for this pregnancy. I just want to relax and enjoy it!

Anyway as a welcome distraction to the next 2 weeks of waiting I am on hand to answer any cloth nappy questions! I’m not a crusty hippy by any stretch but did cloth with both my two for environmental and money saving reasons and will definitely be doing it again this time! It’s really great, not difficult, gross or messy. Even my Nursery were happy to do it, and no nappy rash or giant poo leaks!!

Hi all, scan went well yesterday, how surreal is it to see the little one wiggling about and you're totally oblivious to it!! In the process of telling people now :) measured slightly ahead at 12+3 so due 9th November.

After thinking I was getting better, I had a bad weekend and have been sick two days in a row now. A friend told me yesterday she was sick until the 7th month: I hope that won't be the same for me either!

I've a friend who loved cloth nappies and tried many brands and found the best ones, she was recommending them to me before I even said I was trying to get pregnant! So I'll meet up with her soon and get the details.

H&M was frustrating yesterday, I wanted to get some jeans but they only had one size 10 in a really random style. Online might have to be the answer....

@pipsqueak126 Congratulations- beautiful scan picture! I found ASOS to be very good for maternity jeans. I just bought their own brand and they've been brilliant with nice, generous sizing and a decent leg length. Their maternity leggings are good too.

LastNightsMakeUp · 01/05/2018 09:26

Congratulations on all the positive scans and news. Totally understand those worrying as I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and am worrying! I still don't feel particularly pregnant which is the opposite to how I felt with dd, still only vomited once! Hoping it will all become a bit more real tomorrow! My OH is away for work all week so he can't come but luckily I have a very close friend coming to stay for a couple of nights so she will come with me and dd will be at nursery. We're having a private scan on Sunday so OH can have his glimpse and then we'll get the blood results back Monday when we're planning on telling MIL and FIL and all will hopefully be in the clear. I've used my Home doppler and have heart babies heart beat, and I'm pretty sure I've started to feel some small movements (12+1 today - was 16 weeks with dd - I have non existent abdominal muscles I think).... but until I see the scan I'm frightened they'll be nothing there.

...sorry a bit of a vent/rant/word splurge... it's the worry! I'm a bit of a cool customer in real life so it's nice to be able to offload some crazy here! 😂

Saraswati · 01/05/2018 09:54

@lastnightsmakeup same here, cool customer in real life and vent the crazy on here! Scan tomorrow too, feeling enormous so just hope it's baby and not just bloat/fat!

I loved h&m and asos for mat trousers last time. Online is best as they never have loads in store. I only bought mat trousers last time and then normal tops just looser style or bigger size which meant they were good for bf afterwards. Also eBay is good for mat wear as it's usually in good condition as it only gets worn for a short time! Have been eyeing a jumpsuit from beyond nine but might look like a weeble Grin

TheUbercornMum · 01/05/2018 10:52

@Nocatshere yes I understand some NHS trusts have adopted the NIPT test if results come up high risk on the combined test. Mine doesn't however I think they go straight to cvs or amnio when I did my research which was another big reason I went for the harmony straight off as I was convinced my age would skew results and it would be higher than with DD. FX all comes back fine for you.

olderthanyouthink · 01/05/2018 13:12

Playing catch up

I might consider NCT or hipnobirthing, idk, daisybirthing looks nice but doesn't seem to be a thing near me. I've also got to consider that I need to move and that will include moving areas a bit. The apps sound interesting too (am a nerd).

Not sold on pregnancy yoga but I went to ballet on Sunday and was so bloody tired I couldn't wait for it to end, and that was the easy class.

Despite being knackered, moody, ravenous and having mad/horrible dreams, my boobs hurt less now so maybe I'm coming out the other side now.

I think we are going to try and do cloth nappies, BF was enthusiastic about it because of saving some money and maybe eco friendliness but waivered when I said about carrying dirty nappies while out 😂

@pipsqueak126 it is weird seeing them moving around so much but you can't feel it!

wejammin · 01/05/2018 15:04

I used cloth nappies for both DC (Had 2 in cloth at once for a year) and 100% recommend them. Cheaper, nicer and cuter! Nursery were happy to use them.

For maternity trousers, my nicest ones are Gap that I got off eBay.

Anyone else's boobs still killing? Ive breastfed twice for over 3 years a time so I thought they'd be used to changing shape, but they are agony every morning!

AJ89 · 01/05/2018 19:34

@pipsqueak126 lovely scan pic!

@wejammin yes my boobs are super sore. Feel as though they inflate throughout the day and hurt when I lie on my side at night!

MiniMinions · 01/05/2018 20:16

@GiveMummyTheWhizzer great news, glad to hear DS is thrilled.

Am hoping our test results appear soon scan was nearly a week ago (tomorrow)

Am considering pregnancy yoga as dance class I go to (legs and arms exercises) the instructor has asked me to get a drs note to say ok to do it so will have to try and get an appointment (easier said than done!!)

Aussi · 01/05/2018 20:22

@miniminions I went to a pregnancy yoga class last night but everyone else there was pretty much ready to give birth! Was looking for something a bit more active so I think I’ll give it a miss for a couple of months (was super relaxing though.) I’m sure they are all different though depending on the instructor and the range in the class

Had our scan today and all went well - finally feel like I’m ‘allowed’ to get excited and buy cute baby gros. Such a relief ! Have jumped a few days ahead according to the dates

Mayah · 01/05/2018 20:55

I was so looking forward to getting excited after my 12 week scan last Thursday, but this baby is making sure I'm kept on my toes!! So since Friday (day after my successful scan Envy) I started bleeding bright red blood. It only lasts a few wipes, never comes off on a panty liner. At first I didn't know what to think, but I'm starting to realise it happens after bowel movements. I'm not straining, it tends to just flow out (tmi). At my private scan I was told I have a retroverted uterus (faces backwards instead of the normal forwards) and I don't know if this may be the reason why. Does anyone else have any experience with this? The thought of waiting 4 hours at EPU just to have an internal exam is draining, especially after a long day at work. Any advice appreciated Grin

LastNightsMakeUp · 02/05/2018 00:32

@Mayah sorry if this is completely obvious but are you sure the blood is vaginal? If so I would definitely say give your midwife a call and get some advice from her or call the EPU - I'm not sure the wait would necessarily be 4 hours x

sarahhh1984 · 02/05/2018 05:44

@Mayah Sorry to hear you're going through this. I agree with @LastNightsMakeUp. Think NHS advice is to report any bleeding at all to your mw so I wouldn't let the EPU wait time put you off.

Saraswati · 02/05/2018 05:52

@Mayah it's so scary isn't it, I'd go and get checked out just for piece of mind.

I started bleeding again last night, only brown so far, scan is this morning and I'm already crying and shaking, didn't get any sleep I'm so worried Confused

sarahhh1984 · 02/05/2018 06:00

Oh @Saraswati how horrible for you! If it's brown blood, hopefully it's just old blood left from your last bleed? At least you have your scan today. Have everything crossed that it turns out fine for you.

MeredithShepherd · 02/05/2018 06:30

Good luck today @Saraswati
Fingers crossed it’s nothing @Mayah but I’d give your midwife a call

marchblossom · 02/05/2018 07:20

Yippee I made it 12 weeks! Scan tomorrow, fingers and toes are crossed for a healthy baby! It's my third so I should be pretty relaxed, but after having a car accident right near the start of pregnancy it's really knocked my confidence Sad

marchblossom · 02/05/2018 07:20

@Saraswati good luck for your scan today xxx

MrsFTigalar · 02/05/2018 09:14

Morning! Sorry I've been quiet. I had more bleeding last week. All is ok, but I realised just how anxious I am. And I've not got my 12 week scan until 13 weeks!

We did NCT with DS, the class itself I could take or leave, but DH found it really useful. But the friends are invaluable. We're off on holiday with one of the other couples in a couple of weeks and I'm Godmother to their second son.

I missed RNW! Damnit. As DS was prem he didn't end up in cloth, but I'm seriously thinking about it with number 2. We did use Miosolo trainer pants though and they were fab.

Saraswati · 02/05/2018 10:41

All fine, so relieved! Due date now 10th Nov, off for cake and happy tears!

sarahhh1984 · 02/05/2018 11:03

So happy for you @Saraswati! Had a gut feeling you'd be OK but so glad to hear it! Enjoy the cake. Cake

Magpie24 · 02/05/2018 12:24

Congratulations @Saraswati! I also had cake after my successful scan! Enjoy Cake

marmitericecakes · 02/05/2018 12:25

Hello everyone! I'm excited to hear all the scan news today as there seem to be a few of us having them.

I've been lurking since getting BFP in early March. I'm 40 and have a 6 year old DS. I've experienced losses over the past 2.5 years that have made it hard for us to get too excited about a baby being a sure thing until today...

I've just had my 12 week scan and I'm expecting twins! I kept saying to my DH that I suspected it (and reading this thread hasn't helped) but I still can't quite get my head around it.

I wanted to share with you guys because we haven't told anyone in real life yet. We both wanted to get the all clear from the trisomy tests and make sure the pregnancy was viable before telling our families and friends and now we have a little extra news!

Saraswati · 02/05/2018 12:30

@marmitericecakes twins!! Congratulations!! My DP is an identical twin do you know at this stage if they are identical or fraternal?

I'm not going to tell my dd until we get our screening results back but have told close family and a few friends so far. I can't wait to see her reaction though.
