Morning all! Hope you have slept better than me. Seem to be able to only get 4/5 hours each night. I'm exhausted! Hope this improves for me.

TheImprobableGirl · 08/04/2018 10:49

I've slept well all the way through so far! Luckily for me the bump fits into a ridge/space in DH's back so i'm quite comfy!

10 weeks today! A quarter of the way through DOES sound impressive. Baby is the size of a kumquat Grin Wonder who is going to have the twins? Eek!

Tiredness has finally subsided, which with a 7 and 3 year old (and a 4th birthday to organise) I'm grateful of! Finally ate some cereal for breakfast too rather than crisps... small things

TheImprobableGirl · 08/04/2018 10:53

I've had two scans already so quite confident my dates are going to stay roughly the same (watch them be weeks different now Grin )

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 10:57

Morning, sorry to hear some of you are having trouble sleeping! Hope that improves soon.

Thanks for the new thread @olderthanyouthink

I’m still exhausted but had a very lazy day yesterday and am about to attempt some pregnancy yoga on YouTube. I think it could go either way (enjoyable or vomit-inducing!) I’ll report back...

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 11:00

@theubercornmum H&M have some lovely bits online and when I popped in last week they had their usual range of jersey dresses, long line stretchy tops etc. I bought quite a few things on eBay this weekend - figure it’s cheaper and if i don’t like something I can always sell it again!

OlderMumToBe2018 · 08/04/2018 11:12

@Windy1234 yes, I've had lover back ache. This is my third pregnancy and all were the same in the early days, lower back cramps, basically period pain for a few weeks. I find keeping on the move helps, and making sure I'm not constipated.

Anyone taking pregnacare original? It has b6 in it, but only 10mg, I'm planning taking more b6... Anyone else tried this for nausea?

OlderMumToBe2018 · 08/04/2018 11:13

*lower!

TinyPawz · 08/04/2018 11:38

I'm taking pregnacare and 5mg folic acid. Thankfully no nausea as yet, although that is a double edged sword because if has me worrying that something is 'wrong'.

I stopped taking 150mg sertraline when I found out I was pregnant on 12march. The last few weeks have been tough tbh. Hopefully at some point I'll level out

sarahhh1984 · 08/04/2018 12:22

Thanks for setting up the thread @olderthanyouthink!

@TinyPawz, according to that chart, I'm having a boy. But it also says that DD should be a boy! 😂

MeredithShepherd · 08/04/2018 12:44

I’ve been a rebel and risked it... I’ve just bought a Cybex Sirona M2 from Toys r us for £91!!! I couldn’t resist it! Even if fingers crossed anything does go wrong we would try again anyway.

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 13:00

@meredithshepherd what on earth is it?!

I can report that yoga went well - I really enjoyed it and am feeling much more relaxed. I think the stretching helped. I was worried about putting my head down and feeling nauseous, but the two videos I did didn’t have any upside down poses (no downward dog even).

OlderMumToBe2018 · 08/04/2018 13:04

@TinyPawz hopefully you level out soon. Is there a reason for taking extra folic acid? I've been reading that b6 can be used to stave off morning sickness, and really need something, or work are going to find out sooner than I'd like.

MrsFTigalar · 08/04/2018 13:07

Thanks for the new thread @olderthanyou think

I had a scary day yesterday - I'd been spotting since Thursday and then yesterday developed a really sharp, stingy pain in my lower right side - where I'd guess my ovary would be. The emergency GP sent me to the Early pregnancy unit and did a scan and all is well. Heartbeat, yolk sac - all where it should be. Pain is from a cyst on my ovary, but we're hoping it'll ease off over the next few days/ weeks.

8 weeks tomorrow, and DH brought my maternity clothes down from the loft this morning too @Potkettleblack2

Emelene · 08/04/2018 13:30

So glad you had good news at your scan @MrsFTigalar! Smile

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 13:42

So pleased you had good news @MrsFTigalar that must have been scary.

@oldermum I tried Pregnacare but they made me terribly nauseous so I switched to single tablets of folic acid and high strength vitamin D instead.

MeredithShepherd · 08/04/2018 13:45

@MrsFTigalar glad it’s good news!

@Nightmanagerfan it’s a car seat!

KirbyCane · 08/04/2018 15:06

Hope it's ok for me to join! 9+1 today and couldn't be more excited! Amazing to see that people have bumps already! I just look incredibly bloated and can't work out what is bump and what is baby.

Congrats all Thanks

Pumpkin2018 · 08/04/2018 15:41

Not been on for a while, hoping everyone is well.
I'm another one who is starting to show already at 10+3, last time it wasn't until about 20 weeks so I've now convinced myself it's twins. Need to get my maternity clothes down soon.

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 15:53

Welcome @kirbycane I can relate to the bloated feeling. At night I look five months pregnant and in the morning I look normal (albeit none of my trousers fit any more!) I’m embracing leggings

TinyPawz · 08/04/2018 16:12

@OlderMumToBe2018 the higher dose folic acid is recommended for overweight women. My bmi is ridiculously high

Magpie24 · 08/04/2018 17:09

Thanks for the new thread @olderthanyouthink.

I've been invited to two weddings in September and have concluded I wouldn't feel comfortable going to them as they involve a fair bit of travelling and nights away. I'm a nervous traveller anyway and will be 35 weeks at the last one. I need to RSVP - any idea as to what reason I can give for not attending? I haven't told anyone I'm pregnant yet!

Magpie24 · 08/04/2018 17:10

I should add that they're both for good friends who I will certainly tell after the 12 week scan... so I need some sort of holding response!

Nightmanagerfan · 08/04/2018 17:17

@magpie24 how about a work trip that’s likely to be over those dates? Or family reunion? Or just be lax in replying and then tell them after the scan? I’ve been invited to a September wedding when I’ll be 32 weeks. It’s 90mins away by public transport and will likely involve an overnight stay. We can’t decide what to do!

TinyPawz · 08/04/2018 17:38

Surely rsvp's aren't expected back immediately especially for weddings so far away. I'd delay in returning them until after your 12 week scan.

TheUbercornMum · 08/04/2018 17:40

@Magpie could you just keep it simple? "Thank you for your invite, unfortunately we cannot make it, we will be sad to miss it but we will be thinking of you" then you can explain all in a few weeks? Deliberately vague but not untruthful? If they ask why then you could tell them or make something up but I bet they won't question that and then in a few weeks all will become clear anyway. It's really hard isn't it? I'm having to say I'm unwell to friends at the moment when they ask if I fancy meeting up as I'm in no fit state to go anywhere and I hate not being able to explain the real reason!
