Hello! I haven’t seen a thread so thought I’d start one for any other mums expecting December babies :-)
I’m 24, this is #2 (have a DS who is 4) and EDD is 3/12/18!
Had an early mc in Feb so feeling quite anxious still.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
balalalala · 10/04/2018 20:20

I think I just wiped a bit of pink blood :( massively worried now!

emwithme · 10/04/2018 21:00

Oh balalalala I hope it's just a one-off.

I had to tell my boss today...had to run out of a meeting with my TL and Big Boss (or throw up on them) so rather than be sent home for puking, I came clean. They were thrilled for me, which is nice. I have now stocked up on ginger tea and biscuits for the office.

I've also booked an early scan for next week when I'll be 7+1. We're off for a few days the week after to see DH's family (his gran is 90) so it'll be nice to be able to tell people in person if all is going well.

someone tell me I'm being an idiot thinking this is twins

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 10/04/2018 21:08

balalala I've read it's very common so try not to worry xx

balalalala · 10/04/2018 21:59

I'm trying not to overeat, but turns out I'm incapable so instead I'm off to bed with a hope that there will be no more by morning...

pineapplefritter · 10/04/2018 23:50

Hi all.

Joining in with a bfp at 10dpo, although faint ones from 7dpo on a frer 😁

Due 21st Dec - how are you all x

balalalala · 11/04/2018 07:56

Nothing more overnight so hoping it won't come to anything! I have a pelvic scan tomorrow to look at cysts so I'm really hoping they'll be able to see something!

MrsTeaPlease · 11/04/2018 09:14

Fingers crossed no more balalala. But I know so many women who have had some bleeding in first 12 weeks and baby has been fine. Good luck with your scan and you emwithme. Let us know how you both get on. Hi pineapple fritter! Christmas baby for you then Grin

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 11/04/2018 09:56

That a good balalala! When are you due? Have you had your midwife appointment yet? I've booked mine for may 3rd :) woke up with very painful boobs and feel abit sick . Which I'm pleased about! Ha!
Welcome pineapple and congrats!
Does anyone know how to do a spread sheet or amend the first post with everyones due dates?

balalalala · 11/04/2018 10:40

Congratulations to all the new people!
mama my due date is the 4th so my booking in appointment is two weeks today, currently 6+2

Usernamechecksout · 11/04/2018 11:55

I had an early scan today at 6+1. I wasn’t very hopeful because I’ve had some spotting and don’t feel pregnant at all, but I actually saw the heartbeat! All looks well and I’m so relieved and happy!

balalalala · 11/04/2018 12:50

Great news! How exciting!

MrsTeaPlease · 11/04/2018 14:43

That's great username! Bet that was lovely! Is anyone else constantly hungry?! Trying not to eat everything today!

DoAsDreamersDo · 11/04/2018 18:00

Yeah, I’m really hungry all the time too! Last week I lost my appetite but I’ve definitely got it back this week 🐷

Skittlelover · 11/04/2018 21:42

Hi everyone
mrstea I am planning a section too. I had an elective that I asked for last time so will this time too. I had to be firm in my reasons due to mental health but it was actually quite straight forward.
My hubby liked his wrapped pregnancy test gift, but he did say that I had peed on his present Wink.
raysan I'm not on anything as my blood tests were all normal. I am going to get early scans at 7 and 9 weeks so hopefully will get there!
balalala like others have said it's so common to have bleeding early on but I know how worrying it can be. Just be kind to yourself and keep positive.
username great news on the scan!
Starting to feel sickly now and exhausted roll on the next few weeks! Xx

balalalala · 12/04/2018 12:18

Interested to hear about those of you having sections - what's your reasoning? I had a 3c tear last time and remember begging to die or at least cut her out, but have had such conflicting advice since. One consultant told me I absolutely must have a cs next time, then another said no reason why. Tbh I'm scared of a cs but know if I do want one I'll have to convince people and yet I'm not convinced myself?

Also, what vitamins are people taking? I've been taking pregnacare like last time but don't think it's agreeing with me this time round as it's definitely linked to making me more gassy and indegestion!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 12/04/2018 12:20

Anyone else still getting cramps? I am 5 + 4. Should I be concerned?

MrsTeaPlease · 12/04/2018 19:13

That's actually really reassuring to hear skittle how was your first elective if you don't mind me asking? And how many weeks are you? I still feel pretty good, apart from the hunger and moodiness (might just be my threenager causing the moodiness though!) Waiting for the tiredness and nausea to hit me any day though!

balalaMy reason for wanting a section is that I went 2 weeks overdue last time, had to be induced and my body reacted badly to the drip, waters had been broken for well over 24 hours and had a bad birth with forceps and lots of tearing. My son's head was 98th centile! No wonder he was stuck! Then he didn't breathe or cry for the first 6 or 7 minutes and had to be rushed to scbu for oxygen. We then both got infections (due to my waters being broken for so long I believe) and my son had to have a lumber puncture for suspected meningitis at 2 days old Sad I ended up in a very fragile mental state and it took me nearly 8 months to bond with him, and I didn't want to breastfeed.

This time I don't want to risk any of that distress or danger for the baby, I want to be in a good place mentally and really go for breastfeeding! I'm also scared of having a section but feel that it's the best option for me.

I'm taking seven seas vits as pregnacare never agreed with me last time either.

mamabooks I'm still having some small cramps and twinges, less than a week ago but still there. I think it's probably everything starting to stretch

balalalala · 12/04/2018 19:49

mrsteaplease gosh that sounds traumatic! No wonder you want a section this time round!

mamabrooks still twinges and cramps here too!

I had my scan and they picked up little blob with a strong heartbeat! Dates matched up pretty much exactly!

NeffSaid · 12/04/2018 19:53

balalala I had a 3rd degree tear with my first and a very quick, wonderful VB with my second two years later. I was offered an ELCS but didn’t want one and the consultant agreed with me. Funnily enough I have 3 other close friends who had 3rd degree tears with their first babies and lovely births with their seconds.

Of course it’s your decision but do bear in mind that a CS is major surgery (I think we sometimes forget that? After what other similar surgery would someone be expected to get no sleep and take 24/7 care of a tiny human?!) Your consultant should be able to walk you through the various statistical risks of each choice. You have a while to decide though Smile

NeffSaid · 12/04/2018 19:54

MrsTeaPlease sorry you had such a traumatic experience Sad

MrsTeaPlease · 12/04/2018 20:09

Thanks ladies Smile

oh balala that's so exciting! Must be lovely to see that tiny heartbeat already! Makes it all seem more real I guess. I still find it hard to believe that I'm pregnant, think it'll only be at the first scan that I actually believe it!

Just wanted to add for all on here that its their first, that I'm the only one of all my 10 close mum friends who had a traumatic birth, they all had great, easy births! And then super quick and easy 2nd births as well!
Don't want my experience to worry anyone!

balalalala · 12/04/2018 20:36

neffsaid that's really reassuring and pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking!

Yes, very exciting to see a heartbeat. It definitely feels more real now!

DoAsDreamersDo · 12/04/2018 21:13

Ooh Balalalala how exciting to have a scan and see a heartbeat already.

Skittlelover · 12/04/2018 21:14

balalala great news on the scan. Must be such a relief.
Mrstea i don't mind talking about it. As people have said a c section is major surgery and is not an easy option. For me, due to my previous job I was very traumatised by childbirth and could not cope with going into labour, although I really wanted to have a natural birth. I got panic attacks and didn't sleep for weeks so I did end up with a booked section. Unfortunately the section wasn't straight forward and I lost 2 and half litres of blood and got an infection afterwards. Really tough looking after a baby and recovering from major surgery. However, for me it was still was the right decision as mentally I was able to cope with this outcome but Labour still freaks me out. A bit weird I know.
Sorry for the long description. It's such a tough call and I don't think any way of giving birth is easy. But it is so worth it.

AaronPurrSir · 12/04/2018 21:15

balala that’s so exciting. I have mine next weekend and I’m alternately excited/nervous!

Sickness has properly hit this week. I haven’t vomited yet but solid, really strong sessions of nausea. And I’ve just accepted sore boobs as a normal part of life now Grin
