Oh wow @SparklesandBubbles that's so exciting! Congratulations!! What an amazing induction story!

Northernbeachbum · 30/05/2018 15:39

Congrats @sparklesandbubbles!! Does he have a name yet?

@jadeward89 that must be frustrating! Can they not do it sooner?

Turns out I just have mildly high blood pressure so got sent home thankfully Smile

Watchingmasterchef · 30/05/2018 15:43

Wow congratulations sparksandbubbles ! Amazing !

Cookie1831 · 30/05/2018 16:01

Whoop congratulations sparkles

jadeward89 · 30/05/2018 16:30

@northernbeachbum glad you are able to come home and it’s nothing they are concerned about.
The hospital was so busy so at the moment Wednesday is the earliest, if something comes available they’ll call me. Tbh I’m struggling being home but know I’m better off here with the kids and cats but I just wish baby was here too 😕

ClareB83 · 30/05/2018 16:56

Congratulations @SparklesandBubbles!

That's a relief @Northernbeachbum.

And that sucks @jadeward89.

Currently in my first (four day) week of being home alone with the boys during the day. They were so good yesterday, but a bit more challenging today. Max screamed blue murder while I fed joe and whilst logically I know he's fine it's so hard emotionally to have your baby screaming at you for half an hour and have no spare hands to comfort him. I think I'm going to have to try feeding them at the same time. I thought it was impossible with joe being so windy but for my own sake I think I have to try. Been reading various methods to try out.

Congratulations, Sparks! Hope things start moving for you soon, Jade

SylvesterTheCat · 30/05/2018 19:49

Congratulations @SparklesandBubbles !!!!
Great story.

Northernbeachbum · 30/05/2018 22:36

I'm now feeling like everything is making me paranoid I've got pre eclampsia now though, so it's a little frustrating.

@clareb83 that must be tough. I'm sure with some practise you'll get the tandem feeding sorted.

@jadeward89 enjoy your time at home, shame they were so busy but you never know bump may decide to come out before weds

ElizabethLemon · 31/05/2018 12:33

@Northernbeachbum how are you feeling today?

We’ve been at the hospital since 7 but there’s been so many emergency c sections that we’ve still got no idea what time I’ll be going into theatre. I’m bloody starving 😫!

We’ve just been told that the baby will be going into NICU straight away and that we won’t be able to do skin to skin or anything. I’m gutted, previously all the Drs seemed to think that he’d be ok to go straight on to the postnatal ward with me. It also means ds1 won’t be able to visit which is really going to upset him. Feeling pretty crap right now and just want this all to be over.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 31/05/2018 12:56

@ElizabethLemon Our maternity hospital NICU policy is "Siblings of babies on the unit are welcome to visit any time but parents must ensure that they are fully supervised at all times" so might be worth double checking that. Hope you get a time soon and that they change their mind when baby comes out.

@SparklesandBubbles Congratulations

ClareB83 · 31/05/2018 13:22

Yes siblings were allowed to visit our NICU as well, just not other children.

Northernbeachbum · 31/05/2018 13:23

Feeling fine thank you @ElizabethLemon , the stress made me sleep 13 hours last night though, fell asleep on the sofa at 8pm.

Must be tough waiting all day for you, hopefully it will be an incredibly short lived NICU stay so your DS can visit. I hope you get into theatre soon and everything turns out to be precautionary

ElizabethLemon · 31/05/2018 13:40

The midwife we asked said it wasn’t possible due to risk of infection. We’ll see, I’ll ask someone else at some point.

@Northernbeachbum you probably needed that!

Shutupanddance1 · 31/05/2018 14:13

@Northernbeachbum - hopefully it’s not pre eclampsia. If it makes you feel better, my OB said when I was diagnosed last time that any time after 34 weeks is ok for them as baby will be fine - I had my DD at 38 + 2 last time and she was a healthy 7lbs13oz and needed no time in NICU.

@elizabethlemon - hopefully you’ll get your section soon and everything will be ok with bubs

WreckItRach · 31/05/2018 14:54

@Northernbeachbum I hope it's not pre eclampsia. Try to not overthink everything.

@ElizabethLemon good luck! I hope you get in soon lovely

Northernbeachbum · 31/05/2018 15:04

Well blood tests and everything came back clear so I'm just on a low dose of tablets to drop my blood pressure (although I'm adamant it was only high as they were causing me stress). They've decided it's not pre eclampsia and they're not too worried as baby comes out next week anyway. We're 39 weeks now so if he decided to appear he'd probably be fine.

Thank you for the reassurance though @shutupanddance1

@Elizabethlemon hopefully you're in theatre by now meeting your new little one.

ClareB83 · 31/05/2018 15:37

That's good news @Northernbeachbum and yes at 39 weeks they'd be just fine.

OP posts:
Shutupanddance1 · 31/05/2018 15:46

@Northernbeachbum yay for that beach bum!

I’m 38 weeks now and as my doc has said he’d only like me to go to 41 weeks, I’ve 20 more days at most of pregnancy left Grin Trying to be positive and happy today about that! My mum will be arriving in 21 days so it’s all looking good for us here Smile

Watchingmasterchef · 31/05/2018 16:20

Shutupanddance why does dr want you to go to 41 weeks ? Sorry if I’ve missed something !

SparklesandBubbles · 01/06/2018 00:02

@ElizabethLemon so sorry to hear you've been kept waiting and that your little one will have to go to NICU straight away. Hoping everything is ok with your little one.

@Northernbeachbum glad to hear you've not got preeclampsia.

Thanks for all the well wishes. DS2 is doing really well and feeding tons - my boobs are beginning to look like Pamela Anderson's!! Ds1 has been a bit tricky today but guess it's only understandable with so much change happening.

Hey guys, as this thread is now at 972 posts, did someone want to restart it? I would do it myself but don't know how!
