@Milknosugar1 UTIs in pregnancy should be treated asap so speak to your GP tomorrow if possible.

TMI but I am so constipated I'm actually in pain. DP is going on a mission after dinner for milk of magnesia and prune juice.

Penguina · 15/03/2018 20:02

The constipation And piles I had after ds was far worse than labour and childbirth, and a c section recovery so I feel for you ladies!

Penguina nobody believes me when I say the constipation I had after having DS was far worse than the labour - MW told me I didn't need any extra fluids when breastfeeding so it was horrendous until I realised I needed LOADS more fluids Hmm

DwangelaForever · 16/03/2018 07:06

Feeling like death this morning, smells make me gag and be sick and I just know when I go downstairs my hubby won't have washed the pan from last nights dinner and is letting it soak and it'll smell 😷.

I find I'm much worse if I don't eat something substantial for dinner the night before. We had pasta bolegnese last night but I didn't fancy the meat so just ate a tonne of pasta and I know I'll spew my guts this morning. Same thing happened on Sunday after my dinner on Saturday of potato waffles cheese and beans 😂. I can barely face real food at the minute but if I don't it makes my sickness worse!

Less than 2 weeks til my scan now 💃🏻

Belles86 · 16/03/2018 07:49

11 weeks today and first scan in 10 days 😱I feel you on the smells though! OH 4 year anniversary today and he’s so lovely bought me some cute lush stuff and it all smells kind of weird. I was like ‘yay, gorgeous!’ 🤢

ConfusionIsNothingNew · 16/03/2018 09:04

10 weeks today and I've got my booking app and scan in 4 days, eek!! Been feeling quite a bit better the last 2 days, I'm hoping this is the turning point for me!

Hope everyone's well today!

Belles86 · 16/03/2018 10:18

Has anyone told their work yet? We’re moving offices and expected to muck in so I’m having to tell my boss today to save carrying filing cabinets etc. Nervous as just passed probation after being here 3 months 😬😬 feel v bad about it from that perspective..

I told work a few days ago as I burst into tears with a catchup with my manager because my midwife rung me and I thought it was with bad news (blood results or something like that!). It wasn't but wanted to explain why I was so upset.

RhiBee29 · 16/03/2018 12:50

Two people have announced their pregnancy in Work this week...my boss is going to have a breakdown when I announce, we're all due September/October Shock

ladydolly · 16/03/2018 12:53

I told my boss and bosses boss because I was expecting to be off with sickness and because I have a big event in a few weeks and wanted to take my assistant because it can be quite physical and because I need to ramp up the training!

I cannot believe a midwife said you don't need more fluid!!! It was the biggest thing for me, I bought a giant cup with a straw so I could always have it near me for feeding one handed. I also find I get constipated if I don't drink enough when pg so worth trying that to ease it along with more fibre.

I'm 11+3 today and don't have my scan until 12+6 so a week on Monday until we go public, I can't wait just so I don't have to wear baggy jumpers all the time to hide my enormous bump!!

MamaL86 · 16/03/2018 13:29

I had to tell my work very early as I'm a teacher and had to accompany an overseas trip and wasn't sure if I needed to tell them.

@RhiBee29 we're the same. Three of us will be off from October on maternity. My boss must be secretly fuming.

Belles86 · 16/03/2018 18:08

Ahh ok, I told boss today and she was really good actually. I’d been dreading it for weeks.
Re constipation, whole prunes have been helping me, even though I’m NEVER in the mood for them!

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 16/03/2018 18:19

I've drunk an entire carton of prune juice today

Hi everyone, I had a GOOD hospital appointment today! Makes a nice change 😊 baby is measuring 8w+5 although physically can’t be more than 8+2, might big a big baby if it keeps this up!

I’m sorry to hear about everyone with constipation, that’s one thing I don’t have but I do know the pain it carries from past experience. Pears are great too, also fresh pressed apple juice. I didn’t know but raspberries are meant to have a lot of fibre and might be a bit tastier than alternatives.

I am still super nauseous, it used to finish around 5pm but now carrying on until bedtime. Eating helps so I’ve ordered a celebratory Chinese takeaway 😋

@milknosugar I’m sorry to hear you’re in pain, the midwife will help your OH to understand tomorrow. It’s seriously painful, were you able to drink lots of water today?

Have you called the NHS line just to check your symptoms are ok to wait with?

Ignore the reference to Serena Williams, we are all going through enough without that kind of thought process!

We had our booking in appointment this afternoon and so glad to have the pregnancy confirmed and see our little baby wriggling about!! Energy has improved and nausea have lifted and it is lovely to begin sharing our news. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

FutureMum · 17/03/2018 06:22

Any reasons why the nausea is worse some days than others? Yesterday nothing, however plain, stopped me from feeling sick.

pumpkinpieinmyeye · 17/03/2018 07:21

Sorry to hear so many of you are suffering with constipation! I seem to switch between that and diarrhea every few days!

My best friend told me she is pregnant yesterday, just 2 weeks between us! I can't wait to tell her.

I have my booking in appointment on Tuesday, and really looking forward to getting a date for my scan soon. Just want to know everything is ok!

pumpkinpieinmyeye · 17/03/2018 07:23

@DogMumOfOne did you have your booking in appointment and scan at the same time? How far along are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Ps. Is this how you tag someone?!
