@pumpkinpieinmyeye yes I think so. My letter said I would have bloods done and had to bring a urine sample. It said I would 'probably have a scan'?! So in the end I had all the tests, long case history and scan in one clinic which lasted 2 hours. I live in Belfast and it seems to be different evenue between my friends experience. I am 11.5 weeks! What about you??

Lou1015 · 17/03/2018 09:32

Hello, can I join please?
I am due 12 of October, had my booking in appointment and scan yesterday at 10+1.
I have a son who will b 13 when baby is born.
So far have just been feeling tired and bit nauseous but nothing too bad.
Haven’t announced our news yet.

Shellwedance · 17/03/2018 11:26

Hello, going to jump on if that’s OK. I’m currently 10 weeks, with my second, already have a DD aged 5. My scan isn’t for another 3 weeks! Feeling quite sick and tired and a bit anxious as I had a MMC before DD. Looking forward to getting past 12 weeks.

Mayah · 17/03/2018 12:07

My sickness kicked in yesterday, and worse today. Ive had to settle with a glass of milk for breakfast because my stomachs so unsettled, I can't even look at food.

So GP messed up my appointment date, booked me in on a Tuesday when the midwives don't even work that day. The receptionist kindly let me fill out the referral form myself as to speed up the process. She's given me another GP app on 28th March, and booking app is April 4th at 10+4.

I've only been at my job since 1st December. Full time nursery nurse. Does anyone know if that's long enough to qualify for maternity pay? 7+7wks if that helps. I'm so nervous to tell them I'm pregnant when I finally do. But I may have to with all these appointments coming up. They require proof of appointments but my booking in is a letter from the antenatal unit and that would just spill the beans Blush also constipated!! Not painful, but I'm just so bloated and more irritating than anything.

Hispterwannabe · 17/03/2018 13:45

Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well and the sickness is abating for most of you. My sickness is pretty much at bay now but I have the odd bouts. A friend of mine has been suffering with hypermesis for the last 4 months, thankfully she’s coming out of it the other side but it’s been horrendous for her so anyone suffering with this just take good care of yourself and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel.

DwangelaForever · 17/03/2018 17:11

Anyone else find maternity bras crappy for support? I only wear mine at the weekend for comfort!

wonderstar1216 · 17/03/2018 19:01

Would love to join! Due date is 1st Oct. already had one scan as dr thought I was way further along than I am but that dated 8+3. Next scan is on Friday and I'm just panicking lots about it. Just keep getting the feeling something is wrong Sad

Hope143 · 17/03/2018 20:32

Hello ladies, I'd love to join this group. I'm due 21st October, and am currently 8+6. We had our first scan at week 7 and have another this coming Monday at week 9+1. X

user1521304909 · 18/03/2018 11:32

Hi all still very new to this and all the acrynoms. Is there a dictionary somewhere???

Would love to join and loved reading all your messages. I am finally pregnant after 4 yrs of trying and several rounds of ivf, not my cup of tea given my phobia of needles.
Had a scan a 7 weeks that put my due date back 3 days, but at least there was a heartbeat. So reassuring to read some of you have had changes to yours, hoping the little bean continues to grow, that will make it all worth it 😀

Oh! I just realised there was a new thread! D'OH! That wee @ thing doesn't seem to work for me Blush

Exciting reading about your early scans!
I have my official booking appt on Tuesday when I'll be just over 10weeks then 1st proper scan (not doppler) in a fortnight - but it's not been plain sailing so far, though have been so impressed by my GP who has been amazing, really helpful and kind.
I have HG and have had a couple of day-long admissions so far, Cyclizine finally helping now. However when I got bloods done it turns out I'm also hypothyroid which is a new thing (normal last year) so a bit scary. Getting replacement therapy now, but my GP was straight on the phone to obstetric endocrinology and then conference-called me in so I could hear all the chat. Hopefully going to see them on Tuesday as well.

Honestly I thought I'd be skipping barefoot through a meadow of flowers feeling lovely - not the case!
I have been dragging myself into work but thinking about taking a bit of sick leave now, GP keeps ringing to check in and see if I need a fit note. Have told my direct boss who has been great and just said "go to any appointments, I will tell everyone I've seconded you to work on some research" and told me to wait til I'm comfortable telling the whole dept. Yesterday I missed literally all the rugby as I was asleep Blush
Sorry for long ramble, just glad to have found you all again!

Mayah · 18/03/2018 18:42

@Milknosugar1 there's no mention of maternity in my contract, but it's outlined in my employee benefits with no qualifying details. My probation period is 6 months, I've been with them since 1st December.

@Milknosugar1 haha that makes 2 of us, no idea what to do. I'll just have to wait it out as long as I can and see how it goes. Glad your private scan went well xx

Kitty610 · 18/03/2018 20:56

I’m 10 weeks now and my sickness has been sooo much better for the past week. You’d think I’d be relieved but I’m just really worried! With my first it was about 16 weeks before I felt like this. Do you think I should contact my midwife? Or did anyone else’s go this early and all was ok?

justtowarm · 18/03/2018 21:10

I'm 10 weeks and my sickness is still so bad but last time it had subsided by now, I think it just varies with each pregnancy :)

ATP1000 · 19/03/2018 14:32

Back at work today and I am so tired! I could literally fall asleep at my desk! I keep eating to stop feeling sick and to stay awake!! It’s going to be a long week 😴

RaliaMusca · 19/03/2018 14:59

Hi everyone! I thought I'd join as well. I'm 11+5 with my first, dating scan coming up in just over a week. SO nervous!

RhiBee29 · 19/03/2018 15:09

Feel like I'm coming down with a cold, can I take anything or am i going to have to ride it out?

8+1, nausea is lessening but my boobs are soooo sore now. Very pleased to have symptoms, they give me a little reassurance.

EyeBaggage · 19/03/2018 15:21

RhiBee29 I had a stinking cold a few weeks ago and I think you can only take paracetamol Sad everything else I looked at said preggos couldn't take it or had to check with doc first - I feel for you it's rubbish!

My poor toddler has been virtually housebound these last few weeks as I've got my head in the toilet several times a day - really hoping the sickness subsides soon!

Belles86 · 19/03/2018 15:31

@RaliaMusca you’re at a similar stage to me, how are you feeling? I’m 11+3 and whilst the exhaustion is less I’m feeling pretty massive (put on 3llbs but it looks like a lot more) and very sluggish!

Latenightreader · 19/03/2018 15:50

I'm 9+1 and have been panicking a bit because I've had only the tiniest bit of nausea - fingers crossed it isn't a bad sign. I've had quite a bit of cramping - does anyone else dread going to the loo in case there is blood?

I told a colleague today- the first person I've told face to face. I only told her because I've been exhausted and am likely to struggle over Easter weekend when work is hectic. I swither between wanting to tell people and keep it secret until after my scan. Second part of the booking in appointment on Friday, and I'll get my scan appointment then...
