midgetgemtheunicorn what makes you think it's a vbac appointment? What does it say on your appointment letter? a vbac is only possible if you've already had a c section. I had a c section last time and then had my consultant appointment last week to discuss birth plan for this time and at no point did my midwife or consultant call it a vbac or vbac appointment. I would say firstly DON'T WORRY. Whatever the appointment is for no decisions will be made tomorrow if you aren't 100% on what you want. Can you call your midwife to day and ask what the appointment is for? Have you had any complications?

ladydolly · 10/05/2018 13:30

I am about to lose my shit with maternity bras. I am so uncomfortable. I'm wearing the good quality brand ones I had from with DD but they are just not the same. They are plenty big enough around the back and cup but I have big norks (ff/g cup) and my bump is very high and it's like there's no gap inbetween. I have red welts from where the bra is between bump and boobs. I rip it off as soon as I get home and put on the soft and zero support crop top type ones. Any other big boob ladies found good maternity bras?

unicornchaser · 10/05/2018 17:25

@ladydolly You poor soul! It sounds horrible Sad
I have not ventured into a maternity bra yet but I really don't want to! I'm concerned there will be no support in them as I am big busted too and that my bump & boobs will just merge into one huge lump! I am only 15 weeks though so still no real bump as such so still in my pre pregnancy bras which are about to explode on me!

I will be looking out for replies to you though and keeping them in mind! Hope someone can suggest something to suit Thanks

Doll87 · 10/05/2018 19:28

@ladydolly pre pregnancy I was a DD cup. I went to get measured at mothercare last week and they put my now size G (!) boobs in a super comfy bra! Highly recommend as they were really helpful and the bra itself is way more comfy than the crappy one I had got from Debenhams before that 👍🏻

@Milknosugar1 same! I would never have believed before I got pregnant that a non wired bra would've given me the support is does!
Mothercare didn't have a massive range but I got two t-shirt bras, black and beige that suit me just perfectly. The trouble I'm having is finding a dress to wear to wedding I have to go to in June! All the fancy maternity dresses I can find are strapless....and it doesn't take a genius to work out cup size G knockers do not stay in place without straps!! 😂 what I would do for small boobies, pre, during and post pregnancy!

ATP1000 · 10/05/2018 20:52

@doll87 try Tiffany Rose for occasion maternity wear, I think they’ve got 15% off at the moment too. Nice quality dresses, I’ve got an event in June too. The dresses take about a week to arrive.

I had a breast reduction 2 years ago from a 34K to an E. I had really bad back and neck aches and headaches which were improved with the operation so it’s quite scary to see them growing back now. I’ve got all my old bras and am wearing the smaller versions again, I’m just hoping they stop growing soon! The best bra I ever got was from rigby and peller. It was expensive at around £100 but it worked and I wore it until it gave up!

I had my 16 week appt today, I’m rhesus negative so need an antibody injection at 27 weeks, also they said that they don’t do heartbeat checks until 20 weeks as the baby can be low down before that and hard to find. Otherwise all is good.

Thank you for all your grumpy messages! I’m not happy that we are feeling like this but it does feel a bit better that I’m not alone! I like the description of full on hulk mode! I know the feeling!

@ATP1000 I know the feeling, I developed very early and at 16 I had size G boobs which caused me a lot of problems at school and with my confidence as a young girl. I lost weight at about 21 and have been a DD ever since (now 30) but all those feelings and insecurities have now come flooding back since they've gotten bigger again which is a bit of a mind f**k because I am so happy to be having this baby, and it's all I've ever dreamed of becoming a mummy but at the same time I really hate the insecurities it brings along with it. Obviously we will all go back to our usual sizes once the little angels are here but doesn't help when buying bras/clothes lol 🙈 and isn't it funny when your small breasted friends say things like "oh I'd love to have bigger boobs, count yourself lucky" I'm like.....no darling, just no.

I will have a look at that website for clothes, I feel like I've exhausted all other leads at this point! I'll probably end up dressing up a maxi dress or something

I have my 20 week scan next week, and have started to feel more defined "kicks" in the last few days. Mainly around this time of night 💗

Doll87 · 10/05/2018 21:07

@Milknosugar1 I've seen mamalicious stuff on Asos and never thought to check their actual website 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll have a look at that one too. I'm a size 10, where did you get your maternity bundle from? What colour is it? Your a star for the offer, I'd love to see a pic 👍🏻 thank you x

midgetgemtheunicorn · 10/05/2018 21:54

Letter said Vbac clinic, had the appointment today and still no clearer on why i was called, doctor herself wasn't too clear why i in for the appointment. We discussed pain relief and she was pleased with BP, haemoglobin, and baby's heart rate. She initially thought i may have been brought in to discuss the possibility of a section with regards to family history, but she doesn't seem to concerned that I will have to worry about that, finally home after 3 buses to the hospital and 3 buses back, and am so exhausted/frustrated i could cry.

twobambinos · 11/05/2018 00:58

Had our scan today all looks well. So delighted to be officially half way. And we found out we are having a boy. I'm exhausted today.

@midgetgemtheunicorn that sounds very frustrating.

justtowarm · 11/05/2018 06:23

@twobambinos congratulations on your lovely boy!

@midgetgemtheunicorn sorry you had such a long day and they weren't able to explain why they called you there!

Hayleyxmx · 11/05/2018 06:43

@ATP1000 I’m rhesus negative too they told after my booking appointment, looking forward to another injection 😝. I had my 16week appointment 10 days ago they listened to the heart beat for me and was found pretty easily must be different hospital trusts follow different procedures xx

2ndPGchimp · 11/05/2018 08:50

@twobambinos congrats on the healthy baby boy. Our scan isn't until we are nearly 22 weeks, which is an age away!

@midgetgemtheunicorn that is really pants!

I had a very strange experience yesterday evening. I was getting on the tube in London (I don't usually use it) at about 6:15, so busy but not full rush hour mode. I went to stand next to a lady by a door entrance. She looked towards me, saw my baby on board badge, says "for f*ck's sake" and walked off to stand somewhere else! Anyone else had any weird reactions to you being pregnant?

MamaL86 · 11/05/2018 09:24

@ twobambinos huge congratulations on your healthy baby boy! Are your other dc male or female?

We went for a private scan last night with my DS - decided it would be nice to involve him. He was also desperate for a brother so thought at least if we found out it was a girl early he'd have some time to get his head around it! And...it's another boy!

EffRam · 11/05/2018 09:34

Congratulations @twobambinos and @mamal86 on your boys! How exciting!!

I had my 16 week appt yesterday, no heartbeat listening for me sadly! I am also in the rhesus negative club, and booked in for my jab beginning of August.

My maternity jeans are mamalicious, I got them from John Lewis and they're great! Going to have a look for some shorts/skirts this weekend. I have dresses and tops but lacking bottoms...

I'm feeling pretty good at the mo, I think the sunshine is really helping!

Have been feeling the odd flutter and on Tuesday i felt a really definite few kicks, like I was being flicked from the inside! Nothing since but hoping it will get more frequent. Tempted to book a private scan as my husband can't make the 20 week one (and I'm impatient as it's still 3.5 weeks away). He's up for it but working all weekend so would have to be next weekend. Hopefully I'll start feeling more and the urge for a scan will go away! (We don't want to find out what we are having or that would be another good reason to go...)

daisychain07 · 11/05/2018 09:45

Congratulations to everyone who has had their scans! Mine is next week and I am so excited!!

Trill27 · 11/05/2018 10:52

@EffRam I am sitting here wearing my new favourite purchase, maternity shorts from Asda! The denim is quite stretchy so they are super comfy... I also got a swimming costume which seems quite good too.

MamaL86 · 11/05/2018 16:29

Thanks @EffRam. My son is very excited now which is great!

Also, thanks for all these maternity clothes recommendations. I've been in denial but think I going to have to order some stuff this weekend! Any other recommendations of good places to try? I tried in next and h&m last weekend but they didn't have any instore - is online the best bet?

wednesday93 · 11/05/2018 21:26

Does anyone know the best place to get a good affordable maternity pillow from? Really struggling to sleep at the minute

justtowarm · 11/05/2018 22:27

I have a really nice Boppy full body pillow one that I got when I was pregnant with my first. It Velcro's together in three parts and I found that at different stages of pregnancy and recovering afterwards I wanted to use it in different ways. I got it out of our loft about 3 weeks ago and it's been great again :) if I have done it correctly I have attached the photos.
