Hi everyone, thank you for all the lovely wishes, we are very happy and mostly just relieved to get a chance to see her again 💖 this is our first baby @cluelessss. We have been calling the baby Poppy as nickname so being a girl makes it easier! One less name to choose!

We have one real name selected but it’s very much a short list....of one! But i think we’ll be adding to it before the birth and see which suits her in the first week.

I too am a bottomless pit, my stomach plays tricks on me, I eat for about 5 minutes, feel full but then 10 minutes later feel like I haven’t eaten all day and can eat a lot more than I did in the first round! My husband is not used to this as we only see each other on weekends and a few comments have been quickly retracted by him! He’s learning quickly!

Big day today, his parents have been on a 4 month cruise, sounds posh but it’s a once in a lifetime thing for them. They don’t know that I’m pregnant yet so today is the day! Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

In terms of pushchairs, I feel like i need to go on a course to narrow this down!🙈 I’m a researcher by day and feel bamboozled by all the choice! The prices don’t help, they are so expensive! Good advice from the mums out there that after 6 months or so a pushchair is easier! We need a lie flat car seat the most as lots of driving.

I’m feeling generally a lot better than two weeks ago but still a bit nauseous esp. when I don’t eat and getting headaches more easily now, plus I’ve sprained a muscle in my bum doing hip exercises in yoga! Ridiculously painful and I feel stupid! Otherwise I’m all good! 😊

@milknosugar1 argh so with you on the sore boobs! I can barely tolerate hugs. I'm also having problems finding bras that fit, but for the opposite problem to most. I was barely an A cup to start with and although i've grown it's mainly around my rib size (I'm probably now an actual A woo!) Can't find maternity bras in this size! Going to look at back extenders instead I think.

EffRam · 06/05/2018 11:10

And congrats on the girl, ATP!! Glad all is looking good.

lovesrunning · 06/05/2018 14:37

Thanks @cluessss! Your gender reveal sounds fun. What a lovely idea. This is my first baby. Is it yours too?

@FromMaddie I’m totally with you. I feel like I’m eating way too much. Lots of healthy stuff but also lots of non healthy stuff :-/

@atp that is so exciting! Let us know their reaction. Do they have any other grandchildren? I’m so afraid of the pram research that I just haven’t started it yet.. and hope your bum gets better soon - youch. You’re way further ahead with names - but like you say it could change in that time.

We’re moving house this week so once that’s out of the way I think I’ll start collecting bits and pieces as friends get rid of stuff - so many of our friends have kids - by the time she arrives we might even look organised, who knows!

We were so torn between the bugaboo chameleon and babystyle egg. There's hardly anything between them except with the egg you can add another seat (tandem) which works out for us as this is the first baby and we want to have another quite soon after (obvs Mother Nature ultimately decides but that's our plan). Plus, I just think the egg looks soooo nice! So we ordered it yesterday and I'm super excited for it to arrive 😍😍😍

RhiBee29 · 06/05/2018 18:49

We realised today that we have both changed our car since DS used the travel system and now have much smaller boot space. Need to get the frame down from the loft and see if it'll fit in the cars, if not we'll have to sell it and buy something else...probably cheaper than buying a new car each!

Congratulations @ATP1000 hope the inlaws we're happily surprised.

I'm in a weird place where I'm back to feeling normal just a bit chubbier, I forget I'm pregnant! Really hope Midwife lets us listen to the heartbeat at 16wk appt as I'm convinced there's nothing in there! Anyone else feeling this?

Hayleyxmx · 07/05/2018 06:46

It’s official I’m a baby clothes shopaholic. I think I may have an addiction 🙈

FromMaddieToMummy · 07/05/2018 07:31

Glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling constantly hungry. I have the 16 week midwife appointment this Wednesday and I'm (weirdly) looking forward to her weighing me and measuring bump to check whether my weight gain is normal.

@Hayleyxmx I understand your addiction. I keep buying baby clothes justifying them as "baby's coming home" outfit. They have a fair few by now

FromMaddieToMummy · 07/05/2018 07:34

@RhiBee29 I have days when my bump is huge (which I love even if it means not fitting into clothes), but just like you, yesterday morning for example I was looking at bump and wondered where it has gone! I was actually (irrationally) paranoid that something might have gone wrong overnight

justtowarm · 07/05/2018 07:34

How did it go yesterday @ATP1000? Such a special moment telling them :)

@ATP1000 I absolutely love the name Poppy. I was going to call my baby Poppy if it was a girl but I'm more and more certain it's going to be a boy. We have decided not to find out the gender at the 20 week scan (even if apparently it's quite obvious in the scan photo).

In terms of boogies, I don't know where all you ladies are from but we are going to the Baby Show at the NEC hoping to find some of the big things we need (such as a travel system) there. It's on the 19th May (sorry Harry and Meghan, more important things to do)

FromMaddieToMummy · 07/05/2018 07:43

@Milknosugar1 not certain. Just like you, I have been researching it on the internet but nothing all that helpful there. I also have a pregnancy book and this is all I could find on it (fingers crossed I managed to attached the picture)

I'll let you know more once I've spoken to the midwife on wed :)

www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

I have found this quite helpful for weight as you put in your weight and number of weeks and it has a guide! I have not stopped eating since before I found out. I have two full lunches every day, and snacks in-between! I try and keep active to balance it out...!

Hayleyxmx · 07/05/2018 11:26

@EffRam please tell me this is a joke, based on the calculation I have put on 5kgsmore than I should have 😭😭

EffRam · 07/05/2018 11:36

@HAyleyxmx I am also at the top of the gain so I think it is probably very conservative... everyone's bodies are different!

Hayleyxmx · 07/05/2018 11:56

@EffRam fingers crossed I’m 17 weeks pregnant I have gone from 52kgs to 60kgs hopefully it’s all water weight 😉🤣

EffRam · 07/05/2018 12:27

@hayleyxmx I'm sure it is and that is also still very tiny!! My bump is def looking quite big(got asked if I was 23 weeks last week, I was 15..) so I'm banking on the same ;)

FromMaddieToMommie · 07/05/2018 12:39

I'm 2.1 kg under according to that Confused

@Milknosugar1 Hahaha I am happy to take care of it myself: I had a big lunch in the sun, then an enormous waffle cone ice-cream. Contemplating dinner now. Today's definitely one of those bottomless pit days

lovesrunning · 07/05/2018 18:44

Thanks @milk! There’s so much to keep track of on here, don’t worry about it! 22 things?! Mega bargain. I’m not even sure I own 22 things in my normal wardrobe (unless you let me count pants and PE kit).

@maddie and @rhi I’m the same - especially in the mornings - the bump is much smaller and I don’t really feel any different. Until I feel movement all the time I think that will continue. I’m having bottomless pit days too and just embracing it as the one time I have an excuse (I mean, I generally eat a lot anyway but having an excuse is the difference now...).

Thanks for posting that calculator link @effram :)

Also, has anyone heard about hypobirthing? I got lent a book on it today. That’s as far as I’ve got, but my friend told me her experience was ‘lovely’. If I ever use that word to describe labour I will hunt down and kiss the author of whatever book made it possible.
