That's great news @RhiBee29.

@rhi hurrah! Amazing news on both counts. So pleased for you.

@just I’m so sorry to hear you’re still bleeding but thank god for the doppler so you can check in on it all the time. What a relief.

@cluelessss my due date was moved to 14th I’m afraid so no longer due date buddies! It’s getting closer to my birthday every time I go in! Turns out my little experiment was wrong; my intuition was crap. Doc is fairly sure we’re having a little girl! I’m so glad we found out, it feels much more real and more like a person is in there, somehow.

@milk sorry to hear you’re feeling low- maybe it’s peaks and troughs with energy while you cook up a human and you’ll feel raring to go again in a few days. Be kind to yourself and take it easy.

justtowarm · 04/05/2018 07:05

@lovesrunning yay congratulations on your girl! It must be lovely knowing. Can't wait for my scan to know. Just felt a lovely little prob/kick as I typed 😊

RhiBee29 · 04/05/2018 07:08

@Milknosugar1 @BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy nice to have some 20wk scan buddies.

@Milknosugar1 I can't believe you have names! We have no clue. We were set on Henry with DS then changed it 1/2 hour after he was born, if he was a girl he was going to be Penny. I'm not fussy on either name now. It's so hard! Hope you're feeling better soon x

EffRam · 04/05/2018 10:39

My 20 week scan is 5th June! My husband can't come because of work though so my mum is coming... and I think he might be tempted to get a private scan so he can see baby again too!

@Milknosugar1 no real buggy decisions, but I do want one with a lie flat pram (carrycot?) bit as well as the buggy seat - some were just one part but you could recline it but it didn't go fully flat and you would have to strap baby in which seemed a faff. my friends recommended the bugaboo chameleon or bee - the bee is particularly lightweight, I think it would be good for tube/bus although I suspect the dog could knock it easily. I think I might go for sturdier pram (maybe chameleon) and just use a sling when I'm getting public transport for ease. But will be going back to test drive them then getting them second hand. We don't have a car so will just be checking seat fits in my parents I guess!

I had also seen lots of next2me cribs second hand for 60 and a brand new mattress from chicco is about 40 so think we will do that.

I think we have a girl's name, not settled on boy's yet though! We aren't going to tell anyone when we have decided, but we are casually floating our contender names mixed in with names we aren't going to use to keep people off the scent whilst testing reactions haha!

16 week midwife appt next week (I'll be 16+3) and really hoping she listens to heartbeat. Even though she told me at booking she wouldn't... so probably hoping in vain!

ladydolly · 04/05/2018 11:44

unicornchaser I'm a bigger busted lady (36FF before pregnancy) and I went straight to underwired, I got an Emma Jayne and Freya bras second hand once measured. They're very supportive actually. They are much less comfortable that I remember from last time. My bump is very high so there is no gap between my giant boobs and my giant belly so there isn't room for a bra even if it is underwired.
I also bought some bra extenders from amazon so as my ribcage expands through pregnancy I can wear the same bra. (It's SO weird when it's back to normal the day after giving birth!)

@dogmumofone have you tired Mush or Peanut? I'ts like tinder for mums. Most of my friends are done with babies so I'll be using that to make some playdate buddies. I've seen lots of women on there who are around our stage of pregnancy so it's not too soon.

With my first my sister gave me her travel system and we just went with that, we sold it at the end. We're thinking we'll just buy a second hand of the same brand, we know our car seat fits it and it's easy to put up and down, light, relatively small. 2nd hard seems to be around £100 (it's the Sola 2 for anyone interested and I highly recommend it). Most of my friends moved to a stroller at 6-8 months which you then use for the next 3ish years so it actually makes more sense to invest in that than the travel system, certainly for us city bods. I did a lot of walking with DD1 but not much offroading, if we're doing country walks then the sling will cover that.

Kudos to those with baby names!! We don't even have a shortlist, I can't see us ever agreeing, our tastes are so different!

twobambinos · 04/05/2018 17:19

just quickly checking in.
@rhibee29 that is fantastic news celebrations this weekend for you .

we have our 20 week scan this week i cant wait to find out, we havent started on names yet so will see the sex first and go from there. like another poster none of our names from first baby made it to the shortlist 2nd time and same again from 2nd to 3rd!

i have seen two travel systems i want both are pretty much the same but they are both on the girly side. so will have to see what the scan says. my ony advice would be check it fits comfortably in the boot of your car as we learned this the hard way with DC1.

i can only see one page on this so cant see who asked about tiredness? it comes in waves for me some days not good at all. but recent bloods have come back fine so i guess its just hormones. sorry just seen it was @milknosugar1

im in ireland too also cant see who asked that.

how is the bedrest going @justtowarm?

starting to feel some definite kicks this week but as soon as they arrive they are gone. i thought it would be alot earlier on my 3rd but no. still have no obvious bump in clothes so no strangers congratulating me yet. but it is getting there alright so i think another 2 or 3 weeks its might start to get obvious.

havent managed to put on much weight yet either about 2 pounds up from my lowest so still a bit away from my pre pregnancy weight which was just a little too high for me anyway. but i suppose there is plenty of time for catching up there too,

twobambinos · 04/05/2018 17:20

but my bras are definitely getting tight. ill have to go and get some soon but they are hideous. im also living in the same few clothes because i just havent seen any maternity stuff id be any way happy to wear. maybe when the bump makes a proper appearance or the sun and im forced to buy looser stuff.

anybbody going on any holidays this summer?

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 04/05/2018 17:43

I have admitted defeat and bought some maternity leggings - they are so comfy, I may always wear them.

Also, there's now a Jan19 baby bus! We are veterans Smile

nervousFTM · 04/05/2018 18:31

@twobambinos getting all the holidays in! Due 21/10 and in June I've got a girls weekend planned in France, family holiday in Portugal followed straight away by an early anniversary holiday w hubby to Italy 😂 will be nice and fat on all of these but at least not having to carry baby paraphernalia around yet x

RhiBee29 · 04/05/2018 18:35

We've decided to get a private scan on 19th May and take DS along to surprise him with the baby news. I'll go in first check heartbeat etc then call him in from the waiting room. DS has been asking for a sibling this week not sure if this is spontaneous or if he's picked up on the whispers about baby's but I'm hoping he'll be excited.

ATP1000 · 04/05/2018 20:38

It’s a GIRL!! or perhaps a shy boy! Only just 16 weeks so we’re checking again at the 20 week scan but the sos graphed was confident. All looking good with the baby, hooray!
I hope everyone else’s scans went well this week and great news for @rhibee on both sets of tests 😊

midgetgemtheunicorn · 04/05/2018 22:26

Hi guys very new to mums net and am due with my first mid/late October was just wondering if it would be okay to join?

lovesrunning · 05/05/2018 08:24

@midgetgemtheunicorn of course!! Welcome in. And congratulations Smile

Congrats on your healthy little girl @ATP that’s fab. Have you started on names? We had the initial chat after finding out on Thursday but I think it’ll be months before we find something we both love. Similar tastes though which helps.

Thanks @justtowarm!

MadeInWolves · 05/05/2018 10:00

@twobambinos That's me! I'm in Ireland too :)

It's only 16 months since I had DS so I think we're sorted for names; just using the ones we didn't use for the first, as we still like them. Having a surprise though, so have a boy's and girl's name picked.

We have a Silver Cross pioneer and absolutely love it. The travel system was pretty pricey (present from mil) but they are available second hand. We found the bassinet part invaluable; my DS wouldn't sleep in anything else for the first 5 days so his 'bedroom' was just that on the sitting room floor! They used to be able to market them as 'suitable for overnight sleeping' but they're not allowed to anymore. Don't know what we'd have done without it!

We've been offered a second hand double for when #2 comes along. No idea what it's like yet but happy to be saving the €€!

justtowarm · 05/05/2018 10:08

Congratulations @ATP1000

@twobambinos bed rest so far seems to bring doing the trick as heartbeat was good when last checked... but it's dull. I am learning lots of random thing from day time TV though 🙈

Will be lounging around in the garden today which will make a nice change 🌞

Hotchocolate86 · 05/05/2018 10:14

Congratulations ATP.

RhiBee29 · 05/05/2018 13:26

I've just been gifted 400 size 1 nappies SmileSmileSmile that should see us through about 2 weeks 😂
