I am just back from a weekend down south visiting family and beach/pleasure beach in Blackpool on the way home. Chippy, pizza, ice cream, crisps, I haven't even looked at a fruit or vegetable since Friday.
I got myself stressed about the weight gain initially, but then spoke to some people who had hypermesis who told me if I want to eat it, just eat it. Could all change overnight and not be able to stomach it again for 6 months! So not really watching the scales too much.
Though must reign it in a little as I've been using that excuse a little too much lately!

But on the plus side, I've told the whole family in person so now I can relax about who finds out 😊

Sorry for the double post, phone said it had failed.

Also, think of the calories we are saving from no beer/wine etc so I would say don't give ourselves a hard time with the weight gain!

midgetgemtheunicorn · 07/05/2018 19:21

Glad im not the only one feeling like a bottomless pit although its fairly recent as "morning sickness" left me unable to keep anything other than water and cold black tea down. Im cursing who ever came up with the term morning sickness, i honestly thought it would never end 😂😂

@lovesrunning I used some of the principles of hypnobirthing with DS and it was great, o kind of zoned everything out other than the Midwife's voice and repeated positive calming mantras to myself. I will definitely do it again!

Hayleyxmx · 08/05/2018 18:49

Is there still a Facebook group for October mums to be?? Xx

unicornchaser · 09/05/2018 07:04

Does anyone know if any anti inflammatories are safe to take while we are pregnant? I used to take ibuprofen for both knee and shoulder problems but know I can't now and typically both problems have flared up since the weekend 😔
I've not had a midwife appointment yet so can't ask them..... I will phone the doctor but wondered if anyone knew?

ATP1000 · 09/05/2018 10:33

My god I’m grumpy the last few days! Not sure why, I think I’m shattered, but feeling super grumpy and over sensitive! Good job I live on my own during the week!
Obviously I’m happy and feeling grateful about the baby but this is more just a steady state of being a grumpy bum!
How’s everyone else doing?

Hi @ATP1000 I am also super grumpy. My lovely family were all around over the weekend to help out while my partner was working away and because I'm still not supposed to do anything. I was so grumpy and ungrateful it all just felt too much... I think a lot of that is due to feeling exhausted! Being pregnant is hard work!

DameSylvieKrin · 09/05/2018 15:36

One ibuprofen will not do any harm if you've e.g. taken it without thinking but it's best to avoid as it is linked with miscarriage in the first two trimesters and premature labour in the third.
I would go and see the gp and get an alternative prescription for the pain.

Belles86 · 09/05/2018 16:48

Same @ATP1000 I'm tetchy AF, anything that I might have let slide I now get stuck into very quickly. Have to remind myself to not be so hard on my other half...
also, hangry, almost constantly, trying to steal myself away from hula hoops..

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 09/05/2018 19:18

I'm very grumpy too - poor DP seems to be bearing the brunt of it.

Had my 16 week appt today and heard a heartbeat with the Doppler which was amazing! Can't wait for 20 weeks now to find out the sex.

RhiBee29 · 09/05/2018 20:55

I'm on team grumpy too! Very tired, I have Meralgia paraesthetica aka a trapped nerve at top of my left thigh, super painful at night, feels like my leg is on fire so I think tiredness is a factor. Midwife says there's no treatment just have to put up with it, it may ease as baby moves up.

Anyone in Wales? I've heard that they no longer listen to heartbeat at 16wk appointment here.

midgetgemtheunicorn · 10/05/2018 03:17

Hi guys know i'm very late in posting but i'm slightly nervous I've been called for a VBAC appointment tomorrow and i'm not quite sure what to expect. This is my first so everything is quite new to me. Unfortunately DP is working tomorrow and time off is not a luxury we can afford at the moment. Anyone have any idea of what to expect?

daisychain07 · 10/05/2018 07:20

Midget....do you mean this is your first pregnancy or first Vbac appointment? X

twobambinos · 10/05/2018 08:47

Sorry midget can't help you but good luck with the appointment.

We have our scan later can't wait. Although not looking forward to the weigh in if there is one.

I've been struggling a bit this week with constipation and now I feel sick again. It's never ending isn't it. At least baby is kicking away.

EffRam · 10/05/2018 10:44

I have my 16 week appointment today. Hoping she will listen to the heartbeat but she told me at booking that they don't do it until 25 so I'm probably being optimistic!

I am also still eating constantly, have emptied the house of junk so having to have healthier snacks but still. So. Hungry.

midgetgemtheunicorn · 10/05/2018 11:19

first pregnancy and first Vbac appointment, ive done some googling (possibly not the right thing to do as an anxious first time mum to be) but there is little to no information online.

justtowarm · 10/05/2018 11:33

I'm confused I thought a vbac was vaginal birth after c-section? I don't have any helpful advice as I thought it was only people who had had previous c sections 🙈

midgetgemtheunicorn · 10/05/2018 11:41

16/17 weeks it changes every-time they see me Confused. Yeah thats all that i've found online and its making me worry they have seen something that maybe calls for a c-section and not said. As I say all of this is new to me so i didn't think too much about it when i was initially called for the appointment, but i think the anxiety is helping my imagination run wild with all sorts of possibilities.

justtowarm · 10/05/2018 11:47

That's not good @Milknosugar1. I sometimes feel a little light headed but not like you have described and it passes really quickly. I do get migraines if I don't drink enough and they can give people all sorts of funny symptoms. I guess it's worth checking with your GP or midwife.

I'm ok, everything is still ongoing with the bleeding and it's everyday still. I have seen the midwife today and The baby's heartbeat is strong. So now it's just waiting for the 20 week scan to see if it is complete Placenta previa, 13 days and counting :)

It's reassuring me at the moment that babies flutters seem to be turning into kicks and string probs.

Doll87 · 10/05/2018 11:48

I'm on team grumpy! Been so easily irritated, especially at work! Had to take myself off to the toilet the other day before i went full on hulk mode! I have my 20 week scan next week so i think i'm just feeling impatient as it's felt like the last few weeks have really dragged.

I'm going to be awful after this scan is done as no more to look forward to! Still so long to go until baby is here......the curiosity is getting more and more everyday

justtowarm · 10/05/2018 11:50

@midgetgemtheunicorn I would query with them why you need the appointment. I can't imagine is because you need a c-section because I really think that the appointments are for people who have already had them. Hope it goes ok. Is it today or tomorrow?
