It's the last day of April, how scary is that?

Enjoy your days today everyone.

Yay last day of April - come on May babies time to start making an appearance!!

So we have had 3 babies so far that we know of. Waiting on TMP, Sky and Jess to see if they have popped

elkiedee · 30/04/2007 10:00

Hi, I'm dropping in from the April thread, one of thoese people still waiting for baby to stir (due last Tuesday). I always suspected it would really be a May baby, but the reality of waiting is driving me crazy.

DizzyBrummie · 30/04/2007 10:14

I'm still a week away from my EDD but I'm already wondering when something will happen. No signs of anything yet not even BH. Elkiedee - hope something happens soon..

Pinkjenny · 30/04/2007 10:17

Dizzy - me neither. No BH, no leaking norks, breech baby refusing to turn...

Still, at least its sunny!

AbbyLou · 30/04/2007 10:50

Happy almost May everyone! I really didn't think I would make it to May but I think it was just wishful thinking. Ds was 3 weeks early so I guess I stupidly just assumed this one would be early too. I have felt different the last few days and strangely I feel more comfortable when I'm sitting down - maybe everything's dropped now. It's the physical restrictions I could do without, I feel as though I can't do anything with ds. Still. the sun's out, it's warm, and I'm not at wok - what more could a girl ask for really!

MKG · 30/04/2007 10:52

Hi everyone.

It's not even 6am here yet, but I slept like crap last night. I haven't really eaten much in the last few days. Am I the only one with a total loss of appetite? My reflux is so bad now that I just keep drinking milk, which I think is filling me up.

I must muster up the energy an courage to clean the house today. It's disgusting, but when I look at it I just can't find a place to start. Everything feels so overwhelming lately.

InTheseShoes · 30/04/2007 10:57

Morning! I am here and having a lazy morning, my first session with Phillip and Fern (won't be the last, I know!)

Cramp: I am suffering leg and foot cramp regularly, either stretching your foot the other direction from the cramp or walking around are the only solutions. Apparantely tonic water can be a good preventative - it's the quinine.

Hiccups: Also a very hiccupy baby, seems to be every time I have something to eat (which is often!)

JonahB - I haven't actually been to our stalker/spotter place for a little while - I have been to other branches (eek! I am unfaithful to our cafe!) I went last Monday, but this weekend I was at the Dr Who exhibition on Saturday and Sainsbury's on Sunday morning. I was thinking about you yesterday because our mutual friends parents were having a BBQ, and they were there with baby M. How long do you have left at work?

Have a lovely meet up today everyone!

Juicylucytoo · 30/04/2007 11:02

MKG - I've lost my appetite too. It comes in fits and starts, but I can never manage much.

Although may prove myself wrong at lunch with all the London MNers later

Pebblemum · 30/04/2007 11:05

Morning all

Dh is still annoying me but now not sure if im over reacting about things because im very hormonal (although being annoyed that he wont do any decorating around the house before the baby arrives but will do things for his mum all the time is only natural im sure). Some of the time he has been really sweet like when i jumped (well rolled, wobbled) out of bed last night doubled up with bad pain in both bump and back, i was stood there for about 5mins puffing and panting away until it finally started to ease and poor dh looked really worried. I think he had visions of having to deliver the baby there and then. I must admit i was a bit scared, the pain was like the last stage of labour just before you get the urge to push Once it had eased though i didnt get any more, only slight periody pains and was able to go back to sleep although i did keep popping to the loo every half hour . Have no idea what it was but it kept dh on his toes, he kept asking me if i was ok Maybe i should play on it a bit today and get him to be my slave lol.

Wish my Dh was as thoughtful as yours SOH, what a lovely way to try to cheer you up, even if he had another motive (to encourage Matilda to make an appearance)

Is anyone else finding that when they either crouch down or sit on the toilet they are feeling immense pressure down below as if the baby is right there and could pop out any time? \ive been getting this a lot over the weekend and it was worse last night after I'd had the pain.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 30/04/2007 11:07

Ah MKG, poor you. You are not alone on the loss of appetite. I don't have much of one to be honest and what I am eating is strangly healthy for me, it's very bizzar, I had a lovely chicken salad with new potatoes last night whilst everyone else had gammon and chips. Very unlike me, I just didn't fancy the grease.

Our sun has lost it's hat. It's a bit overcast today, still very warm though.

Maddie is being distructable, she has emptied all paper bins. Pulled the phone books out of the drawer, tipped all her tea set everywhere just for the sake of it. Her favorite wind up for her brother at the moment is to find something of his and push it in his face shouting MINE! and she's started bitting her self. When she has a Maddie paddy and doesn't get her way, she gets so cross she bites her hand or arm in anger. Is this normal?

SKYTVADDICT · 30/04/2007 11:23

Hi all

Well unfortunately I am still here with baby is situ!

Been having very mild period pains since in the night but haven't told DP yet as they are so mild and not even timeable really (approx every half hour). Also getting Braxton Hicks quite regularly.

I am really struggling with when to tell him as he is working 1 1/2 hours away and we are then 1/2 hour to hospital. If I tell him when he rings at lunch time he will probably come home then it might be a false alarm!

twelveyeargap · 30/04/2007 11:28

I know I'm going to see you both shortly, but in case I forget...

SOH - Daktarin is tested on preg animals with no adverse effects, but obv they give you the warning about not using without medical advice. Given that I was prescibed it for a very small baby I can't see what harm it would do at this stage of pregnancy anyway. Your call, of course, but personally, I wouldn't think twice.

Scoot - I was getting hideous leg cramps in the night but have cured them by keeping a drink by the bed. Dehydration makes them worse, if not causes them I think. I drink about a third of a pint of weak Robinsons when I get in and when I go for a wee in the night, I'll have a few more sips. It's annoying as it's tempting NOT to drink to avoid getting up for the loo, but it works for me this way.

Better get ready to go. Have been on the phone all morning. Somehow British Gas think we owe them over £300 from an address we left almost two years ago, despite us receiving a final bill. I think the landlord is trying to stick us with a bill someone else ran up. Then got a letter from the Tax Credits people saying I owe them £600 from 2003 - the last year I actually claimed them before moving in with DH. WTF? Not a good day so far.

largeginandtonic · 30/04/2007 12:14

Good morning

It is alsmost May, cant believe i made it! 12 days to section day, not very far but still worrying me. I just have visions of a very quick labour and emergency c section all rushed and scary. Trying not to think about it. I had one massive contraction last night, hugs was asleep on me and i had to throw him off and go on all fours on the floor. Only 1 though

I am not suffering too badly with cramp this time, i normally do. Not sure what is different this time round?

My appetite is fine Dont really want any grease like you MrsJB. Salad and cous cous, rice etc are the order of the day.

Been to toddlers this morning, got stared at alot. The bump does look abnormal, it is so out the front and quite lop sided as he is all on the right with his head, back and bum all sticking out.

I hope all you ladies have a lovely lunch later on today, im very

SOH Hugs cherub like Only in looks i assure you, his nightmare antics cannot be denied Im pretty sure looking at that photo on the profile shows how well he would fit in the bump........he is 2 stone......ohmigod

TYG your nightmare ex landlord needs and obscenely hormonal pregnant woman on the phone i fear. Hope you manage to get it sorted, why do these things always happen right when you need them least. Just chill and eat lots of lunch later.

Im starving, what shall i have for lunch?

Pebblemum · 30/04/2007 12:19

Sky I have a similar dilemma with my dh. He works about 30mins away as long as theres no accidents/hold ups on the motorways so hes not as far away as your dh but the job mine does is a dirty one (he mends big industrial machines so is always covered in oil and grease). This means that when i go into labour he has to get home, get washed and changed and then get to the hospital which is another 20-30mins away. My last labour only lasted 5.5hrs and it was only in the last hour that the contractions felt strong enough to go to hospital with. This time around the midwife thinks it will be even quicker. Ive been getting lots of worrying pains and keep wondering how long it will take me to realise they are the real thing and not the stupid little things i have been getting. The last thing i want is to either give birth on my own while waiting for dh or to give birth on the journey to hospital.

Im probably worrying over nothing and it will all work out fine, as it will with you im sure. I also have an emergency plan on hand in case i do go into labour when dh isnt around so i have it covered but i still cant help worrying. I dont want to cry wolf too many times lol

AbbyLou · 30/04/2007 12:21

MKG I know what you mean about appetite. Mine has been very strange throughout this pregnancy. From Day 1 until about 28 weeks I had a tiny, tiny appetite and could only eat little and often. Then I reverted to something near normal although still never really fancied anything in particular. I would sit in a pub/restaurant just staring at the menu for 20 mins before ordering something completely bizarre and not eating it! Now I have gone to little and often again. I don't fancy cooking at all, it makes me feel sick and queasy. If someone put s meal in front of me I'll eat it but I can't be bothered to make anything for myself. On the plus side I have only put on 10 pounds altogether so I must have lost some weight at some point somewhere along the line seeing as though the mw thinks the baby is about 7lb!
Pebble I'm glad I'm not the only one gettng strnage pains when I go to the loo. It does feel like pressure and I get a shooting pain right up my fanjo - sorry if tmi! I keep feeling convinced my waters are about to break. This is how my labour started last time so I guess I feel it should be the same this time round! I definitely feel different over the last few days but couldn't honestly say labour was imminent!
Sky you are in a bit of a predicament aren't you. I suppose only you know if you think labour could be on it's way. I would say if you feel like you really want dh there, tell him and his work will just have to put up with it!
Right, I'm off for a crisp andwich, just what I fancy right now. Hope all of you at the meet up later have a lovely time!

SKYTVADDICT · 30/04/2007 12:24

Thanks Abbylou, I have spoken to DP and he says he would rather come home for a false alarm and they are not that busy at the mo.

Anyway pains have stopped now!!

Will keep monitoring.

Lovely sunny day here, hope you are all well and the meet up is going well.

LupinsBigLump · 30/04/2007 13:23

How exciting May has pretty much arrived!!!

Come on babies out you come, Arlen needs play mates

Have a good meet up today - maybe I will make it to the next one

Been into MCare today and took back all the useless things I bought, came to £51 so ordered a shade a babe and got a headhugger, poor little might was boing around his carrycot on the bus

I did have weird appetite in pg, could only eat haribos and apples for 1st 14 weeks, then was very hungry but couldnt be bothered to cook, and in the last bit was little and often but usually sweet, so how dod i put on 3 stone!! I have been on healthy eating regime since being home, gone from 11 stone whilst pg, 10.5 on coming home and am now 9.9st, so pretty pleased, being mostly spurred on by really not wanting to wear my 2 pairs of stretchy trousers any more - I will be size 8 bottoms by july!!!

Arlen has been a feeding star, he has had 3 straight breast feeds with no bottle top up woohooo!!, he does feed more often with bf only but hey ho at least i was able to nip into john lewis bf room and give him a super simple feed. feeling proud mummy today!

Grrrrr at the buses me and another lady werent allowed on the bus because there was already 2 buggies on and there was old people in the disabled space - luckily got on next one, must learn to drive soon, really hate the idea tho, I wasnt keen on it before but i lost my brother in car accident (he fell asleep) so am really overly aware of the dangers on the road, statistics are very frightening things

Right off to pack up more ebay parcels whilst hes

Hope ev1 is enjoying the weather

notsolilKel · 30/04/2007 13:23

Hiya - another at the meetup taking place and all that gorgeous food at W'loo Kitchen. I'm only 30mins away but alas, promised DH I would wait to take delivery of our new BBQ. Plus DS has his MMR jab at 3 and figured he'd need a good nap prior to that...let us know how fab it was!!

As you can guess from my lunch envy, no problems here with appetite. Did start getting reflux quite badly but Rennie soft chews are taking care of that. totally at putting on only 10 lbs! When I see myself in profile I honestly can not believe that whale is myself! I actually got a surprised look when passing some lady in the road today - her eyebrows were raised at me like "oh my god woman you are HUGE." Grrreat.

Sky - keep us posted, sounds like it's not long now. Glad your DH is able to come home, just in case!!

TYG - yuck I hate those days when everyone comes out of the woodwork asking for money for ridiculous reasons. Good luck with it all.

LG&T - KNYM about the rushed c/s at the last minute. I've one planned for 25th May and am convinced (stupidly of course) this baby will come early as with DS and will not have enough time to get section done - will birth in loo at home or some such. Just paranoia, I'm sure

MKG · 30/04/2007 14:35

Well since my last post I have been able to sleep, but kept having crazy dreams about the baby being born. I haven't dreamt about the baby since before I found out the sex. HMMM, perhaps I should warm up the car for a trip to the hospital. No, I'll probably still be here in June.

Pinkjenny · 30/04/2007 15:10

MKG - before my mum had me, she dreamt that she gave birth to a tree.

Lwatkins · 30/04/2007 15:24

Good Afternooooon

Nice and sunny here today, though have to do work so not feeling the benefits of the nice weather. Keeping my curtains closed so that I don't just sit and stare out of the window getting distracted and pining to be out!

Hope everyone has a lovely meet up today

MrsJB am so sorry but am pi**in myself laughing at Maddie stealing her brothers toys and shouting MINE at him. Chuckle chuckle. With the biting thing, I think I used to know someone who had a kid that used to punch walls when they were frustrated. Like full blown punching with his bare hands because he just used to get so angry and lash out. It's like a child getting so angry they throw things iykwim? I would keep a close eye on it though, I'm sure it's just a phase and it'll stop soon. But becasue she is actually harming herself keep an eye on it, could you get her to focus on doing something else when she get's mad. Like going outside and kicking a ball, or punching a pillow or something.

Leg cramps are flippin awful for me in the evenings, I'm constantly woken up with them and have had many near death experiences because I've flung myself out of bed so quickly in a fit of pain and nearly thrown myself out the window or into some furniture lol!

Pebble - yes to the toilet thing! Everytime I go I have an emmense ammount of pressure on my area, front and back. It's got to the point where my fango actually has a slight burning feeling whilst I pee cause of the pressure on it, if that makes any sort of sense. It's making my peeing less enjoyable, I used to feel sweet relief when peeing but now - not so good.

Hello to everyone

No doubt it'll probs be quite quiet on here today, will be back on later to catch up with gossip. Must do some work. Would ideally like to have one of my essay's finished today.

Oh and Happy nearly May everybody. Ahhhh, it's our turn now ladies It's like the end of an era though! It's the next part that's the scary bit lol!

Lwatkins · 30/04/2007 15:27

Oh and loving the new thread title

juliewoolie · 30/04/2007 15:42

sadly couldnt make the meet up today mega peeved as I was really looking forward to meeting other mums in my area. Hey ho never mind.

I too have weird sensations when having a wee or poo. It must just be something that happens when we have our little cherubs jumping around down there!

No probs for eating for me I have an incredibly sweet tooth. So far I think I have gained about 2 stone - horror hope it comes off as easily as it went on maybe I am having a 2 stone baby although my midwife says so far its average size.

Have a lovely day ladies, we are so near now not long to go before they all start popping out.

AbbyLou · 30/04/2007 17:44

It's very quiet on here today isn't it, I bet it'll go mad later on when everyone gets back from the meet up! I really thought I was going into labour last night as dh was out on his work leaving do and we had a power cut. I just lay there in bed with cramps in my stomach thinking please come home soon. When he did roll in in was quite pissed. Ds woke up at 3am asking for his breakfast and dh in his pissed up night fog told him he could have it! I had to spend the next 20 minutes trying to explain to an angry 2 year old why he couldn't have his breakfast yet. Men eh?
