MKG · 01/05/2007 15:52

Oh LG&T This is so exicting!! Our first baby that may actually be born in MAY!

InTheseShoes · 01/05/2007 15:57

Oooh, lgandt good luck! If you can't recognise waters, then none of us can! This must be it!

Just bought myself a lovely dressing gown for £10 in salubrious Peacocks. Also a v nice black and white flowered print long dress for £16 as have an "event" on Saturday (first Holy Communion) which I am not sure that it is appropriate to be wearing jeans and a breast feeding tshirt for. I am going to wear it with a cerise pink cardigan and some cerise Birkenstock-y sandals, as they are the only shoes I can get on my feet. if it rains before the baby comes I am b*d! Tried it on and I look quite cute for a fit to burst expectant mum!

AbbyLou, add my name to the list of people who say "Stop Cleaning The Floor" (although may be a sign of nesting??)

aprilmeadow · 01/05/2007 16:07

Good luck lg&t xx

Good luck LG&T!!

Lovely to see everyone yesterday. Everyone looked so damn good and blooming

Ella is just the daintiest thing I've ever seen and AM you could have had the decency to at least look a little tired...giving me all the wrong ideas about how easy this is going to be.

I should have stayed at the lunch cause my car got towed and so I spent the next 3 hours tracking it down to South Bermondsley and £200 later got it back THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Couldn't be arsed getting upset though. Too much energy

Hello to all and huge congrats to drkgpink and TMP - can't wait to see photo's

Mrsjaffabiffa · 01/05/2007 17:28

Here you go cam, not many left I'm afraid, they're good. From the Annabel Carmel toddler book, couldn't stop thinking about lg&t so felt like baking something in her honour. I'm not a baker though so they are about my limit. lol

Ohhhhh hope things are OK!! I'm not sure I'm going to cope with this for the next few weeks. Mad Isn't it, we don't even know each other yet I feel sick with nerves for all when something could be happening. Although I have met lg&t and chatted on the phone so I don't mean not knowing her. Oh I'm rambling........... it's the excitement.

cameroonmama,

I'm not taking shots at your system.
I know that the system over there is free, it's just interesting to see the differences. For me here in the US it's interesting to see the differences because our healthcare system is very flawed, and as a supporter of a universal, free healthcare system it's important to know what we may give up if we were to change.
Healthcare is going to be a huge issue for us in 2008. There is no way that the government to keep the quality of care we receive (and still fund a war in Iraq).

twelveyeargap · 01/05/2007 19:22

UPDATE UPDATE

Fantastic news everyone. LG&T's baby has gone head down! Hurrah! No C-section. She has to stay in overnight as they're not sure whether the waters have properly gone. They're keeping her to see if any more fluid comes.

Will let you know if I hear more.

cameroonmama · 01/05/2007 19:26

MKG, you are absolutely right I know you weren't bashing our system, I was just having a hormonal ranting moment, it happens now and again especially when I have no dh here to rant to! I have done both the posh private maternity hospital and the national health one and personally preferred the NHS one, sometimes in this country we just love to bash the system without seeing its good points, I suppose after so long of living in Africa I do think here we are so lucky. None of the systems of course are perfect but that's another debate

Anyway, its just nerves waiting for lg&t's news! She was so certain she didn't want to have an emergency section so fingers crossed.
Forget the cookies MrsJB the tension is killing me, I need a glass of wine

cameroonmama · 01/05/2007 19:28

Good on mini-lg&t for the last minute turn, hurrah!

notsolilKel · 01/05/2007 19:43

hurrah miniLG&T!!!

Cam you're absolutely right of course, it is free, which is great. Just can't help letting a bit of take over once in awhile though. Prob cuz I've so many friends/rellies back in the US and their birthing suites are just SO lovely and cushy and nice...sigh. Probs with both systems, for sure...

anneme · 01/05/2007 19:45

ooohh we are all going to be on and off this thread this evening to see if little lg&t appears - so pleased it has turned.
