Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

Thanks @Bobcat85 and @StrawberryLemonade, that is reassuring. I wasn't overly concerned before - just aggravated. I really shouldn't google! I assume it's sort of hives or an allergy, perhaps I'm just a lot more sensitive to a certain irritant now pregnancy hormones are battling. I will keep an eye on where the worst of the itches are and bring it up with the midwife again. x

Thank you @amzq87. Still can’t believe it’s in me. I had a google and at 13 weeks they can swallow and hiccup so I’m pretty sure it was hicupping the poor thing!

I’ve bought some work trousers off ASOS too. I’m sort of at an In between stage, my own clothes are getting tight but I’m not big enough for maternity wear. I’ve bought maternity stuff in my own size but what if I need a bigger size in a few months Confused

peterpanwendy · 01/02/2018 22:25

@amzq87 ooh good shout I have been looking a little on there but there's so much to choose from!

I'm still really struggling with this cough, the baby must be getting a jolt every time I cough :( I'm propped up on my V pillow but it's still so bad I can't shift it!

Gem173 · 02/02/2018 06:26

@misshannah yay also scan buddies! I know it’s been a long time coming this scan haha I’m just happy I got a date. Am brickin it tho for Valentine’s Day for when I will have to tell my boss. She’s scary and sometimes rude. Hoping she will listen and won’t judge me straight away.

StrawberryLemonade · 02/02/2018 06:58

Re maternity clothes, worth looking at sale stuff if the sales are still on! Most of my clothes from last time I’ll use again so don’t need a lot but bought 2 dresses and 2 tops from Dorothy Perkins sale. They were all really cheap! One of the tops was £7 and one was £5 (down from 24 and 16) and the dresses were much cheaper too. Bargain. Kinda can’t wait to wear them!

TheMildManneredMilitant · 02/02/2018 07:05

Morning all, yey for all the positive scans but so, so sorry for those of you who've had losses.

13+5 and feel like i'm starting to relax and enjoy things now. Family and work know now, i'm even 'facebook out''.

Another vote for asos maternity as its pretty cheap compared to some - it might not go the duration but you will probably have a reduced selection of clothes that fit so have to keep wearing more often than you usually would anyway. I'm usually a 10-12 in trousers depending on shop, and the 10s were pretty good on the legs although i really need a bump band to keep them up.

I'm really tempted by dungarees - anyone else or is it just the hormones? Grin

misshannah · 02/02/2018 07:54

@gem173 I've got a similar boss so i feel your pain. I have already told work as i was ill and they were wondering why i was so unusually tired ontop of my M.E. She was actually ok but it was very official with no warmth.

I'm telling my team on the 14th, but am looking forward to that as i planning on having a little fun with them. My team are all ladies with children, so i am surprised they haven't cottoned on yet!

Gem173 · 02/02/2018 07:58

@misshannah
I know it’s so hard! But it has to be done.. not sure how my team will react hopefully nice. They are a range of ages tho so some will prob be happier than others!

Firstimer703 · 02/02/2018 08:03

Hi ladies, about to look at DP sale now! I'm dying to tell my team at work why I've been acting a bit weird, can't tell my boss yet though because I've but I'm for job evaluation and want a decision before then. I'm not based in our head office so I'll now see my boss in March. I suspect it might be obvious by then so feel a bit bad about waiting and it could be hard not to tell my team before then as I see them weekly. Oh the trials!

How do I join the FB group?

clementineclouds · 02/02/2018 09:03

@Firstimer703 pm me on mn with the email you use for fb, then I can add you into the group on fb. x

Emmasmum2013 · 02/02/2018 09:50

I had to tell work ages ago because I was so sick all the time. They were really good about it and happy for me.

I've just found out too that another lady in the office is pregnant but she's about 5 months now. I would have never guessed! She's kept it very well hidden. Whereas I look like a whale already, waddling around the office :(

Firstimer703 · 02/02/2018 10:37

@clementineclouds just PM'd you :)

@emmasmum I'll be happy if I can make it to 5 months with no one noticing. I've had no obvious symptoms so hopefully I can keep it secret a while longer. It's a killer keeping my mouth shut!!

ladybirdno1 · 02/02/2018 11:25

I'm so fed up of being sick now. I am hoping it stops soon. I've not been at work all week because I've felt so rough, tired and sick. I thought I'd turned a corner this morning and had a good sleep and felt more perky, tried to get up and about but was then so sick again Envy

Emmasmum2013 · 02/02/2018 11:27

I was intending on keeping this one a secret at least until the 12 weeks scan. But mother nature obviously had other ideas! Its been rough... I seem to have ballooned in all directions with this one. Last time I was more or less the same size until about 14 weeks then had to get some maternity jeans because my normal jeans wouldn't accommodate by bump any more. This time, I've had to buy loads of new clothes as I seem to have gone up a dress size in bloating so nothing fits me anymore :(

Emmasmum2013 · 02/02/2018 11:29

@ladybirdno1

have you been to the docs and asked for any tablets? Mine prescribed me some metocloperamide and it was a godsend!! Really took the edge off. I still felt nauseous and had to be careful what I ate but I stopped throwing up all the time.

If you're not into taking the tablets, try and eat something before you get up. Have a packet of biscuits or something by your bed to have a nibble on.

Babydreaming · 02/02/2018 11:54

I just had my consultant appointment! All okay but I am going to have my 20 week scan done by a foetal medicine consultant and not just an ultra sonographer and it will be more detailed and I also have another one at 28 weeks and we take it from there!

Unfortunately they’ve found my PAPP a level is on the low side (it’s a marker used as part of the Down syndrome screening). My risk of chromosomal problems was very low but it puts me at risk of having growth restriction and placental problems....AGAIN, the exact same thing happened in my last pregnancy so it’s depressing. They don’t know why some women have low levels!

Anyone else know their PAPP A levels yet?

ladybirdno1 · 02/02/2018 12:16

@Emmasmum2013 initially I felt better than I have all week this morning. I got up, had breakfast started pottering but then was really sick. I will see how I am over weekend and if still had will go to GP on Monday. I don't really want to take the tablets. I've struggled tiredness, constipation and diarrhoea sorry tmi so will see how I go but might need to be signed off work a bit longer if possible

Kiki275 · 02/02/2018 12:31

Hi everyone, just a little heads up in case anyone is having issues being added to the group. I was expecting an invite to pop up in FB but nothing, the invite did however go through to my email account so worth checking there.

On a different note, today at the grand old stage of 11+5 I finally experienced morning sickness. Either that or fizzy water was a really bad choice for thirst relief Confused x

bobcat85 · 02/02/2018 12:38

I'm not feeling too bad, quite tired though but that might be because I had to clean up my 14 month olds sick at 2.30am. So glad it's Friday.

I haven't been able to do up my regular trousers for a while. Showing much earlier in this pregnancy than with DC1.

I hate polyester and feel too cold in viscose, which rules out a lot of maternity wear. I decided this time around to try to buy clothes that I can still wear after pregnancy (I have hardly anything from last time - different seasons and a friend had lent me clothes but they didn't fit me very well).

I've had some good finds in a COS shop, much to my surprise as the website was disspiriting. Otherwise I'm just wearing my normal office clothes with a belly band - thankfully they have held up so far!

milney25 · 02/02/2018 13:26

I finally don't feel constantly nauseas today - 14+2, I'm hoping could be it settling down!

I don't think I'm showing at all. My belly looks bigger owing to bloat. But I don't think that's the same thing 😯 I'm a size 16 and very tall though, so I figure it might take a few more weeks yet.

Hana327 · 02/02/2018 13:36

Welcome @MissMilliner this is my first baby too and also due on 12th August!

Sorry to hear about the ladies with losses and problems! Hope you are all keeping strong!

peterpanwendy · 02/02/2018 17:02

It's my birthday today! First one pregnant and last one before I am a mum, scary thought!

Gem173 · 02/02/2018 17:09

Hope you ladies are coping okay with the ms. Still no symptoms here other than a bad back. Craved an all day breakfast today so got one when on lunch at work. Bacon, egg, sausage, hash brown, toast and beans for just £3- absolutely lush! Made me a much happier pregnant woman lol

Started feeling the tiredness kicking in now, for the past few nights I’ve fallen asleep at 8pm on the sofa. When my usual bedtime is about 10pm! Feeling bad for oh because I spend all my time at work then come home stay awake for like 1-2 hours then flat out asleep! Gunna need pins to keep my eyes open!
