Thought I'd start up a new thread as the old one has run out of space.

waitingfortoto I’ve had the microdeletion extras. Was £450 here. Still haven’t had the results (day 11). Spoke to the clinic this morning for an update - it’s taking them longer than normal to process the baby’s dna. Fed up of waiting and really hope the results come tomorrow!

WaitingforToto · 01/02/2018 14:35

I hope you get your results soon @Whichoneisit were the microdeletions extra on yours or included? The serenity price with them will be £420 so similar ball-park. In for a penny, in for a pound I guess. Annoyingly the results on mine take longer if you have the microdeletions, all this waiting is driving me nuts. I already feel like I've been pregnant for 4 years when I've only actually known for 7 weeks 🤦🏻‍♀️

Whichoneisit · 01/02/2018 14:39

waitingfortoto it was an additional cost. I think the standard was £375

iamloading sorry to hear about your previous loss I hope you have a smooth uneventful pregnancy this time.

I’m consultant led this time due to previous cholestasis but don’t have my appointment until 16 weeks. Hoping she will decide if I need extra blood monitoring this time and tell me the odds of it coming back again. I don’t fancy the itching again but know the risk is quite high.

Gizzymum · 01/02/2018 15:48

@WaitingforToto I had the sex chromosome related conditions tested for but not sure if that's the same as the microdeletions you mention - I think it was done as part of the Harmony test.
As I had to have a redraw I now have to wait another 7 working days despite having already waited 7 working days for them to tell me they couldn't get results from the first lot. I wish they'd fast track the redraws as I hate the waiting.

Welcome @iamloading - I'm so sorry about your daughter. Hope you are coping this time around and not feeling too anxious.

Report
iamloading · 01/02/2018 16:06

Thanks both. I'm also going to be consultant led which I'm relieved about as I will be pushing for additional scans this time.
I had the IONA test last time and thought it was fantastic, at my 12 week scan they didn't even bother with the blood test as they said the IONA results were enough

WaitingforToto · 01/02/2018 16:08

That's annoying @Gizzymum they really should prioritise redraw tests, you'll be nearly 3 waiting if it takes another full 7 working days. I think the microdeletions are different to the Sex Aneuploidies, microdeletions are other chromosomal problems like DiGeorge and Angelman Syndromes. I'm not sure why they are offered as an extra on some tests and not others, just extra piece of mind I guess.

@k4rlyb I had a C-section last time and will have a planned one this time so I'll be consultant led. I haven't actually met my consultant yet but I have an appointment to meet her when I'm 16 weeks. Midwife said not much will be different, I'll still see the midwife for the standard appointments but I'll also have a few extra appointments at the consultant clinic.

YouCantBeSirius · 01/02/2018 16:42

Oh and I had an unexpectedly large baby with my first so the midwife said I'll probably have a couple of growth scans this time.

Can't believe we're on Thread 4 already! I was just catching up on Thread 3 and didn't realise it had ended so will send my replies here:

@MissMilliner welcome! I am also pregnant with my first :)

@Sparklesdontshine not an easy time for you :( I hope you get your results soon! X

@Emmasmum2013 I absolutely love them! Don't know how anyone wears normal jeans, I never want to wear them again! I also need smart but stylish work trousers

@strawberrylemonade Can I please ask about your Cholestasis? I’ve been googling (stupidly I know) as for the last couple of weeks I have not stopped scratching. At first it was just in localised areas (which have previously flared up before AF due so assumed hormonal) and when I mentioned it to midwife she wasn’t concerned and just said I wasn’t to take antihistamines. Then I thought itchy boobs were just a pregnancy thing. Since then it got worse & I now scratch all over, like a flea-bitten mutt, all day. Even if I rest my face on my hand I come up with red marks. Was going to mention it at my scan on Wednesday. Does yours appear like an allergy with hives etc.?

@Kiki275
I had cholostatus in my first pregnancy too. My itching was a bit like yours. However it was mostly on the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet, it was also worse at night.
I found I had bouts of it from about 15 weeks. It started then would disappear only to come back a few weeks later.
My advice would be to speak to your Midwife and see if you can get a bile acid test, which is a blood test. If they come ok, it's worth getting retested if you get itchy again as levels can be raised even if they were fine before.

@Emmasmum2013 not long! Still not home, vistiting my grandparents so won’t see the letter in person till later. But it’s so nice to actually have an opportunity to see the baby! Will be when I’m 12 weeks dead on. Now next mission.. to get the day off 😂

@Gem173 your appointment is the same as mine! So excited now. I'm at 11.30am though. The waiting is killing me now, just want to be able to tell people.

@kiki275 definitely mention it to your midwife. It’s rare for cholestasis to present in the first trimester but guess it’s possible. I had itching from 25ish weeks last time but didn’t get bloods done until 31 weeks. I won’t be fobbed off this time! I had no rash though it doesn’t cause a rash (other than marks you get from scratching yourself silly!).

@SpriteGirl congrats on your scan - love the picture!

As a first timer, I've been having a snuggle with my friend 12 week old little one today 😍 never really saw myself as the broody type but it was lovely to have cuddles :-)

@peterpanwendy I had an ASOS delivery yesterday and bought some nice work trousers from them. They have quite a good maternity section so could be worth a look :-)

@frenchwolf86 the work trousers I got from there are actually new look ones and are just about right for my size. I'm usually a size 16 and if anything they are a little bit on the large size but nothing I would send them back for. The jeans on the other hand are both 16s but one set feel a bit too small in the leg and the others too big.

As it's free returns, I'd say get a couple and try them, that way if you need to, you can just return them with the free label :-)
