I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

Morning All,

Has anyone else been having the deepest sleep of their lives lately? It's taking me about half an hour to even feel slightly awake!

lucylou80 · 23/05/2007 09:44

Hello Can i join you? found out only last week that i'm pregnant, i have a 8 year old and this baby has come out the blue, my sister is a member and she said that mumsnet is i great way to talk to people, had a scan last week to, what it is, is i've been feeling low and went to doctor and had some bloods done doctor phoned me and asked if i could go in, when we got there we were told i was pregnant and he felt my tummy and said i must be about 10/12 weeks i was really shocked (still been bleeding each month like normal sorry) went straight for a scan and there the little baby was just playing we really couldn't believe it, due about 4th December so a Christmas time baby, i must be about 12 weeks now, still not sunk in!

Nbg · 23/05/2007 09:53

Hi everyone

I might not be around for a few days. I started bleeding again on monday and i have been told to take bed rest, so dh has taken leave from work and i have come to my mums for a few days to rest while he stays at home with the kids.
Bleeding has stopped again but I'm now full of cold and completely exhausted.
I cant really come on much as my parents are only on dial up so I'll be costing them a fortune with my mumsnet addiction lol.

I hope everyone is ok and scans are going well!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 23/05/2007 10:05

NBG, Ive been worried about you. Noticed you hadnt been on here for a few days.

take care all catch up later

claraq · 23/05/2007 11:32

hi all - i have also had my 12 week scan. all well, baby very lively and kicking. dates brought forward slightly so new edd of 1 dec as opposed to 6 dec. also had v good downs results - about 1 in 2,500 whereas it had been 1 in 109 on my age alone so happy about that. apparently i have the same risk as a 15 year old. good luck to everyone else coming up to scan date. it is such a relief to hear everything is ok. and can now tell anyone and everyone!

dundeemarmalade · 23/05/2007 11:43

morning all.
have just had awful thought - if scan was at 10 wks not 12, does this mean that i still have 2 weeks of it all possibly being about to go horribly wrong? we did see a heartbeat, but it wasn't counted or anything, and although the sproglet was moving its arms and legs, and sort of bouncing a bit, it wasn't exactly lively and it did go very, very still not even moving when i got the giggle. i am now back to full-on panicking! Help! Please somebody tell me it will be ok!

Housemum · 23/05/2007 12:07

Dundee - don't panic - I'm sure I read somewhere that once a heartbeat has been seen the mc rate plummets (after all, the scary figures for the number of mc's will include pgs where the heartbeat never started so now you've seen it you have much better chances). And babies don't move all the time - you'll get a different sort of paranoia later on when you can feel the movements - every time you haven't felt one for a bit you will start poking your bump then get a kick in the ribs to serve you right! (This, of course, will then be replace after birth with the are-they-breathing paranoia where you poke your baby to check and wake them up!)

Welcome to the world of the paranoid otherwise know as parents.

skidaddle · 23/05/2007 12:38

hi lucylou - congrats and welcome - are you pleased now that you got over the shock? There are a couple of people on this thread with daughters the same age as your son (sorry can't remember who!) so you should get lots of support here

Hello and welcome little old me

mimicakey - yes I have been having sleeps like that - feel like I have been drunk and beaten up the night before when i wake up...

Nbg, sorry to hear about the bleeding, try and get lots of rest and let yourself be pampered by your mum

dundee - no, absolutely don't start panicking!! You could conceivably lose the baby any time (not just in the first 12 weeks) but you have seen yours is healthy and well and so the chances of that happening are TINY. You are definitely past the danger zone so don't panic, just bloom and enjoy!!

Dp's granny died yesterdayso he is going to ireland today for the funeral until saturday. This is great as he will be there for his poor mum, but totally selfishly I am dreading having to look after dd by myself for three days when I'm feeling so exhausted and sick. Prepare yourselves for lots of moaning...

Ambi · 23/05/2007 12:40

Dundee - please don't worry, minidundee was moving around happy as anything, everything seems fine. I'm sure the sonographer would have got someone in if there was a problem.

dundeemarmalade · 23/05/2007 12:46

Thanks ladies.
have changed my screen saver to say 'don't panic' so everytime i go the loo i'll be reminded...

lucylou80 · 23/05/2007 12:59

yes i'm really pleased but came as a shock and a half, my other half is over the moon he went out and brought some things yesterday, I haven't a clue where to begin with getting baby stuff, my sister has a 6 month old baby she said I can have a lot of her stuff because her baby will of out grown them. has any one started buying things for there baby yet?

Housemum · 23/05/2007 14:40

Lucylou - I say that I'm not superstitious but I can't bring myself to buy anything yet! Only thing I've bought was a maternity swimsuit as I'm going on hols at end of August and I thought it was the kind of thing that would sell out and not come back in again! Almost bought a cute little white babygrow in the Debenhams 25% off day but persuaded myself not to.

Saying that, I'm looking at prams on eBay and if I see the one I want I will buy it whatever the old wives' tales are about not bringing a pram in the house! (Heck, I've got an old one in the garage anyway so if you've already got kids that superstition is cack anyway!)

Been for booking in and MW has given me 29th Dec as due date. Still not sure how she worked that one out, but will take the earliest date as then if I go overdue it won't be as bad as my dates!

Nuchal fold scan due somewhere in the week of 25th June - can't wait!

macdoodle · 23/05/2007 18:10

ooh feel sooo sick and tired struggling big time with DD and work
on the up side got early scan tomorrow terrified might be twins
on an even better side DH came to solicitor with me to try and stop XOW from contacting either of us - not convinved will work but he came and supported me definite good sign
An whoever was eating waffle sandwhiches just ried with DD left over tea - yuck yuck yuck

Ambi · 23/05/2007 21:05

lucy - the week i found out I bought some bibs, wanted to make it real. (had to hide them from Mr Ambi tho!!) Can't really buy anything else yet though, however I have all the mags, mothercare, babies r us and have circled everything I want, a wish list really. Mentally shopping...

cazzybabs · 23/05/2007 21:25

oh bugger have lost my scan letter with phone number to book scan....blast buggery bugger

erghhh I hate pregnant forgetty brain....

Housemum · 23/05/2007 22:34

I have a huge mental shopping list too

We are lucky that we have a lot of stuff from DDs 1 & 2. Need a new highchair, got so fed up of tripping over the blooming legs of ours that I flogged it at the nearly new sale. And I'm working on a new pram - I hated the one we had for DD2 - it was a Mamas & Papas Pliko, not the current one. You couldn't have the baby facing you unless she was in the car seat (which they shouldn't stay in any longer than necessary - babies should lie flat in pushchairs wherever possible at first). Am setting my sights high on a big Silver Cross pram Currently selling anything I can find on eBay/NCT so I have an excuse as to how we can afford it. Total so far - £52 from the Nearly New Sale, £54 from eBay - I also have a jar of change that's nearly full! I'll let you know if I get there...

Beanstermummy · 24/05/2007 10:25

HI guys - not been on for a week - how many posts!!

Had dating scan on Tues (same as Skiddadle?) and all went well - only one little button in there but Sonographer was such a dour miserable old cow who basically spent about 2 mins, quick yes there's one in there and that was about it. I had to ask about dates and she wouldn't really commit - yes, they're sort of right for 12+4, we'll send the results to your MW - who I don't see for another 3 weeks!!! Really as it was poo. DH spitting.

However, had private Nuchal scan yesterday at the Nuffield in glasgow with Dr Owen (same as you Caz10? who was a sweetie, spent ages just letting us see Button - showed us the heartbeat trace and put heat thingy on so we could see the blood pumping etc. And he reckoned the date was bang on for DD 30th Nov - JARM and Nbg still winning then on the early bird front As far as the Nuchal measurements etc go we don't get the results until Fri/Mon but he did say the measurement from the scan was very small=good

Long weekend ahead at big sisters and posh wedding - had to buy new frock and all - really looking forward to it.

As for lizzer and the predicter - seems like I'm having a DS - it was accurate with both my sister's DS's and my DD so you never know!!

Hope everyone else is really good - and even though I'm 12+6 today I still feel sick as a dog (even hid in the car for 2 hrs yesterday as I couldn't face the office and dozed in the dark!!

No doubt by the time I log back in next Tues we'll be up to 1000 posts and I'll have lost track even more than now!

hugs and happy thoughts to you all and welcome to all the new mummies to be

jinxed · 24/05/2007 10:27

great news beanster, congrats.

seems a lot of us are now november!

Please dont out me if you can work out who i am, i need a name change for privacy!

ps... due 26/11!

littleoldme · 24/05/2007 11:30

Jinxed - I'm due on the 28th of nov. We'll have to have a race and see who pop one out first. You should check out the Nov thread- we 're relatively harmless.

BeachBunni · 24/05/2007 17:36

Haven't been on in a while as back to work and have been cleaning the house like a mad thing.

Nbg hope you're ok and the bleeding has stopped.

Very jealous of all you girls who have been moved forward to Nov

Totally sympathise with the rat situation. We have one living out our back in a gap in the stone wall. We had one last year that we got rid of but went out the other night and another one scuttled across the garden. Yuck, yuck, yuck! They totally creep me out.

Scan tomorrow morning and I don't mind telling you all that I'm absolutely cacking it! I honestly don't think I'm going to sleep a wink tonight I'm so nervous.

Housemum · 24/05/2007 17:37
