I hope this works! Here is a new thread as the old one was getting v long.
I hope everyone is doing ok. If I'm anything to go by you will be wandering around queasy and exhausted - isn't this fun?!

mice: check for gaps around drains in kitchen (and bathroom ) but usually kitchen or similar on ground floor. The holes don't have to be big (20p sized is apparently big enough for some!).

Env. health will often put down poison, so check with whoever comes if you're not happy about that approach!

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Peanut, are you near Scarborough? We're not a million miles away. We love it there. Especially in the winter.
Its quite a special place to me and dh.
You'll have to let me know what its like. I have been eyeing up the Haven sites. I'm sure dd would love it.

M4G, the scan has made it more real. The last one was nice but it was just a baby blob lol. This time he/she was waving.

It was lovely really. We were the only ones there and when the woman called me in, I recognised her straight away. She was there when I had my ds last August. Turns out shes a midwife/sonographer!
She also slipped us in an extra 2 photos and charged us for 1 so we have 4 great pictures.
Dh has taken them to work today but I will upload them to my profile tomorrow.

Nbg · 19/05/2007 07:30

Oh and M4G, we have a Rat atm !!!
Its our second one.
You'll like this, it will make your mice problem seem like nothing!

The first rat came early just before xmas I think it was.
We have a false wide windowsill that looks into our yard so theres a recess behind the inside wall.
The rat was getting in next to the outside water tap pipe and was pregnant and making a nest.
You should have seen the stuff it had dragged in with it!
Anyway because I heard it late one night, I called out a private company and he came out and put poison down.
That night I heard a really odd sound when I was in bed, a bit like a loud fan. Never thought anymore of it and went back to sleep.
Anyway, ds woke around 5am for a feed, so I wandered downstairs to get a bottle to find my kitchen totally flooded.
To cut a long story short, the poison makes the rats very thirsty and they look for water. So it had chewed through the plaster board, into the kitchen and chewed through the water pipe on my new dishwasher and not only that, the electric cable and that was floating in water!!!
So how the house didnt go up in smoke, I'll never know.
Anyway, we killed that one but last week I heard the same chewy noises again. I think its getting in via the neighbours as enviro health cannot find anywhere it would gain entry.
We havent heard it since.
We do live next to the village local though and they do sell food. So they could be coming from there.

I feel your pain M4G

mad4girls · 19/05/2007 15:50

thanx nbg makes me feel a little better just feel really anxious and on edge all the time waitng for it to appear, feel im wound so tight i may explode at anyone anything at anytime, usually the kids for no good reason.

it doesnt help that i have anxiety/mental health issuse anyway.wasnt sick this morning as dp let me have a lie in and then we mananged to slip a quickey in to.were so naughty, im just so horny right now.(least it made me forget about troubles for bit he gone work now though and the one in front room hasnt been seen since i saw it last night and he thinks im going mad now..

MamaMaiasaura · 19/05/2007 16:54

mad4girls. We have just put down 3 lots of mouse poison as we have the little buggers too. Am 7 weeks and when i saw it i sobbed heart out ...

Lizzer · 19/05/2007 16:55

Hello all, well with naughty dreams and scuttling creatures I feel like I've been away for ages! To comment on both I found dd's brand new hat 'eaten' behind the fridge in dec but no signs since - sends shivers thinking about it though.. Naughty dreams - all the time, sex with dp - too tired and besides the sex in thedreams are far better
Macdoodlesounds like a nightmare with your ex but I'm the same as nics and did a damn fine job of raising dd alone, even if I say so myself
flipperflopperthat's an awful long time to wait for scan but I'm sure it'll be worth it

Mine next thurs and I hope it rouses some enthusiasm in dp. He's having a tough time with his mum being ill so don't want to put any pressure on him but I just think he doesn't really believe it and he thought the scan was last thurs (but his mum was in hospital) and he didn't seem bothered that he missed it which made me feel . I feel likea bitch for saying this though when his mum is really poorly. I just need to get it out on here, sorry.

My friend and I have had some fun with this Chinese birth predictor chart Once you work out your chinese age and lunar month from the links its been spot on for her 2 previous pg's and right for my dd. Apparently I'm having another dd!!! But I know it's just a bit of fun really!

peanutbutter · 19/05/2007 19:08

Nbg at your rat's tale!

We're not near Scarborough, we're on the other side as it happens, in Lancashire, but having grown up by the sea I really love being on the coast pretty much anywhere. My parents love Scarborough but this will be our first time there. It really does look like a lovely place.

cazzybabs · 19/05/2007 19:22

Had my booking in appoitment and fingers crossed all being well am going for a home waterbirth.

Erghhh my horrid neighbour has just been bad mouthing us in the garden - stupid garden. I can't even bear to go outside now and listen to her ranting. She waits till she sees us out there and goes out to say something rude in earshot. I can't wait to escape the mad witch.

Caz10 · 19/05/2007 21:46

Hi everyone. Goodness this thread moves fast! I'm still feeling v ropey, and sometimes the pc makes me worse - can only get on at home in the evenings, by which time I'm normally wiped out!
Glad everyone is doing well. I can sympathise with mouse traumas, we had them last year and like someone said it was a TEENY space that we eventually tracked them down to, they were coming in where the pipe comes up to our boiler. We had to put poison down in the end which I didn't really like doing, but they have certainly never come back.

Macdoodle good luck working things out with your hubby, I really admire you for trying! I would be in a heap by now!

Beanstermum I am 22nd too! A bit concerned as I will only be 11 weeks then, and it seems quite early when you hear about people m/c at 12/13 weeks. We had planned to tell everyone as soon as we got the all clear from the scan, but I had been thinking that would be about 13-14 weeks. Think we are def going to go to the Nuffield, so might wait till after that one.

Thank god it's not just me having these dreams!! . Lucky those of you who are actually getting any, DH says he is too scared!! Thinks he'll do damage...arg. The only other dream I've had is the (recurring) one where a nice doctor man says to me "both babies are doing well!" !!!

PS what is a belly band?! I am much fatter than I was 2 or 3 weeks ago! Not a baby bump at all, it's still flat (ish!) down at the bottom of my tummy, but my waistline has GONE!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 08:29

M4G, I suffer with anxiety too. Has been bad since I was about 28 weeks pg with ds last year.
Are you on AD's? I have been on Citalopram since xmas and was having CBT but I wasnt too good with it. Am thinking of having some emotional freedom therapy before this baby comes. I've heard really good things about it.

Cazzy, your neighbour sounds delightful! What was she going on about? Strange person.

Caz, a belly band is just that. A band that goes round your belly. They're great for this stage of pg as they can go over your trousers that you can't quite do up and under your tops to cover your little bump.

I'm gonna have to start looking at some trousers soon as I'm struggling to do my jeans up now.

Also forgot to mention that my 20 week scan is on the 13th July. So not long at all!

JARM · 20/05/2007 09:45

Anyone considering 4D scans?

THere is a place local to me that will do 2D sexing scans for £60 and 4D sexing scans for £100 including DVD.

Im all undecided.... I want to find out but I dont..... grrrrrrr, it wasnt an issue with the girls, but for some reason I WANT TO KNOW!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 13:21

We're finding out again JARM.
Had I not sold and got rid of all the stuff we had, I would have not bothered finding out but I have piles and piles of ds's old baby stuff which either needs getting rid of or keeping if its another boy.

I have however convinced myself its a girl. Am off to do the chinese lunar test that lizzer linked

JARM · 20/05/2007 13:29

based on that link its another girl! and tbh, its right for the last 2 as well!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 20/05/2007 13:30

I couldnt work that link out - how are you supposed to work out the lunar thing etc?

Nbg · 20/05/2007 13:50

I know, I looked at it last night and it blew my brains a bit so thought I'd try it today when I'm less tired lol.

Housemum · 20/05/2007 13:53

I'm with yuo Nbq - looked far too confusing! I was lost on knowing what time zone we are - is it 0? And is it 0 longitude as well? If so, this one should be a blue one. Couldn't face working it out again for the previous 2 so can't say if it was right!!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 13:53

Yep, cant work it out at all.

Dont get any of it!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 13:54

JARM, help me!!!!

I really want to do it lol

JARM · 20/05/2007 13:58

maybe i did the wrong link? the one i clicked was age at the top at time of conception and month of conception down the side.....

what one are you lot linking to?!

Nbg · 20/05/2007 14:01

the one that lizzer linked further down the thread. Not too far though.

JARM · 20/05/2007 14:06

ok, just read it properly... i dont know!!! I give up!

JARM · 20/05/2007 14:07

i can get chinese age, by putting minus 8 it the time zone bit (they are 8 hours ahead)

but i dont get the lunar malarky

Nbg · 20/05/2007 14:16

Oh I'll be buggered if I can work it out lol

Lizzer, you'll have to explain it to us simpletons lol!

bambino1 · 20/05/2007 14:16

Go to the link and scroll down and there is a large table. That tells me i'm having a boy!!
