Due at New Year....anyone else?!

kerm · 24/04/2007 12:36

Have just found out that I am pregnant. Blimey! A bit nervous/scared! DH says scared is too strong a word. Might be from his side of things but I think that I'm scared!
Due 31st Dec or 1st Jan, can't quite work out whether cycle is 29 or 30 days.
First time, so not too sure what to expect!
Anyone else due at new year?

Barbiehair · 12/05/2007 22:14

My (now 6yr old) son was due on 4th January but came early on 31st December! My daughter was born two years & 2weeks later. (must have been a late Easter). The only thing I can advise is to get all your Christmas shopping done and wrapped at least three months before Christmas and to have Christmas lunch at home curtesy of Marks & Spencers ready prepared.

LilyLoo · 12/05/2007 22:15

i know Barbie my dd came a week early on 13th Jan so this one could easy be xmas baby, either way it's going to be busy

skibump · 12/05/2007 23:05

God, I hadn't thought about Christmas. I'm always so disorganised, usually shopping on Christmas Eve, I'll have to start now!!! We've already agreed to spend Christmas with friends, hope they're prepared to cook

skibump · 12/05/2007 23:11

Feeling better here now I've got over the chocolate binge, but really must take care not to eat too much and drink loads of water , then I feel ok

Last time I got a really itchy bump (tho later on), I found oiling it really helped, plus was a nice thing to do "I'm stroking my baby" Not sure how much time I'll have for that with a toddler running around!

MamaMaiasaura · 13/05/2007 10:50

did another test today .. just to be sure all fine. Still icky. the constant feel at back of throat. sipping on water and chilling in bed. Getting as much rest today before ds comes home as spent majority of yesterday filming.

Glad u r feeling a better skibump

thisisnotmyrealMNname · 13/05/2007 17:13

How paranoid do we all get? I am trying very hard to stop myself popping out to Asda for another test! I feel a bit seasick off and on, I could sleep all day given the chance, I haven't had a period - if I'm not pregnant there's something wrong!

toomanyshoes · 14/05/2007 00:47

hello ladies, things not so good today. Have had a bit of bright red bleeding so will be ringing docs first thing. Am keeping fingers crossed as no pain and still feeling sick/sore boobs etc. Am hoping it's just a blip but will let you know tomorrow. Hope you're all doing well and not feeling to queasy!x

laughalot · 14/05/2007 08:48

Toomanyshoes try and not worry to much I had a bleed with both of my children and everything was fine xxxxxxxxxxxx

birdseed · 14/05/2007 09:55

fingers crossed for you toomanyshoes. let us know how you get on.

birdseed · 14/05/2007 10:00

feeling awful today. tried to go in to work but ended up coming back. feeling nauseous and generally yuk.

doesn't help that we had some disgusting fajita mix last night that tasted really synthetic and the smell now permeates the flat...urggh!

And to make things worse have flat on market so estate agent could ring up at any stage and ask to bring someone round...urggh!

sorry for the moaning.

when do you guys get your booking visits?

Bbabymumma · 14/05/2007 10:53

Been away for a while hope everyone is all ok.

Birdseed - you've done the best thing returning home. I was so ill yesterday it was horrid. Open all the flat windows. I tend to find if I try to eat it does help with the nausea but its really difficult eating when all you want to do is puke. Have you tried the seasick bands? They really worked for me last time. I'm trying to hold off using them yet cos I know its going to get worse before it gets better.

Have my booking in appointment 25th May which I thought was early but I won't ask!

Need to keep this secret from work until June. V.difficult when you look green and sleepy!

Toomanyshoes - hope you are ok. i hope the docs have helped.

ScotGirlInOz · 14/05/2007 11:33

hi girls

hope everyone is feeling ok! When I get up in the morning I feel a bit queasy but then I have brekkie and I am ok. (For now at 6 wks preg!) . We are travelling at the moment (round australia) and are trying to work out when to go back home (Western Australia). Bub is due 7th jan so even if it comes early we can't really go home for the birth cause our house is rented to a lady till the 1st Feb! And neither of us really wants to stay with family to have/or have had the baby already - I don't think that's fair on anyone. Also DD is due to start Kindergarten first week in Feb so we will have to time it for then! Fun Fun Fun! hehe

MamaMaiasaura · 14/05/2007 11:37

thisisnotmyrealname - did you manage to resist?

Toomanyshoes - hope it goes ok today, think bleeding can be quite common and keeping fingers crossed for you.

birdseed - u have my sympathies - very sick here too.

bbabymamma - hello I have tried seabands on Saturday.. didnt get rid of sickness tho

Feeling yuk bu happy today. Scan tomorrow at 12 and really hoping little bean has grown and will get to see hb - will only be 6/7 weeks tho.

Bbabymumma · 14/05/2007 12:09

Awen - v.excited for your scan tomorrow. I think seasick bands are perhaps psychological and don't really work. Just had a packet of beef hula hoops and they really worked! Did you get nausea with your ds?

Scotgirlinoz - wow - what are you going to do!! sounds like you're very busy.

Just read Jade Goody is pregnant and due in the new year?! She's announced it to the world press. How very brave??

MamaMaiasaura · 14/05/2007 12:46

I think I did a bit with ds but so long ago cant remember properly. JUst made myself eat a waffle and ham sandwich. Actually chewing it now and feeling not quite so bad..

Dont need prunes now lol

Yes, I heard that too about Jade. Hope it all goes ok for her.
