Due at New Year....anyone else?!

kerm · 24/04/2007 12:36

Have just found out that I am pregnant. Blimey! A bit nervous/scared! DH says scared is too strong a word. Might be from his side of things but I think that I'm scared!
Due 31st Dec or 1st Jan, can't quite work out whether cycle is 29 or 30 days.
First time, so not too sure what to expect!
Anyone else due at new year?

Housemum · 06/06/2007 10:43

Lilyloo - forgot to ask - how were the cicadas in Chicago? When i last saw my friend she was telling me how they were just due to hatch as they come up every 17 years- apparently they are really noisy when they are all flying?

MrsMcJnr · 06/06/2007 10:53

Jenswish why don?t you call your local EPU and ask for a reassurance scan? that?s what they are there for

Thanks Awen the relief was short lived though as I started spotting last night and it?s made me really worry again. I know it happens but the lack of bleeding was the one thing that set this pg apart from my last unsuccessful one trying to stay positive but am really struggling today.

Thanks Pussycat you hang in there!

Mummyto2littleprincesses ? not only is our EDD the same but we are seeing our MW on the same day too

Hello Beller thanks hope the headache gets better soon.

Plummy ? my hair?s the same, my skin?s greasy too ? both unusual for me.

plummymummy · 06/06/2007 10:59

mrs mcj - some women bleed in every pregnancy. I bled with ds and my two m/cs. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again either. Some women get clots and still go on to have a healthy baby. How many weeks are you now?

MrsMcJnr · 06/06/2007 11:06

Thanks Plummy, I'm 8+1 today.

goingfor3 · 06/06/2007 11:11

Morning everyone,

I think I'm 9+1 today. I had a doctors appointment yesterday as I felt i was starting to get a UTI and I told him I was more nervous than in my pregancies about things going wrong. He was very nice a reassured me that the likelyhood would be that everything would be fine. The problem is I know too much about what can go wrong!

goingfor3 · 06/06/2007 11:12

MrsMcJnr - I'm sorry to hear about your bleeding, I read that 25% of women do bleed in a normal prgnancy so it's not unusal but I can understand how worried you are.

Lozza70 · 06/06/2007 11:51

Morning everyone and thanks for all your welcomes

Feeling much calmer today, probably because I was not woken up by massive cramps like yesterday and a good friend has just announced she is due on the 14th December. My birthday so obviously very lucky .

I'm booking a nuchal scan today as I am just under the age to get it on the NHS. Has anyone any experience of the Fetal Medicine Centre in Harley St or Holly House in Essex?

beller · 06/06/2007 12:14

Lozza.. I have had non pregnancy related treatment in holly house..and they were fab..but cant help with this?
good luck !
Im 10 weeks tomorrow, and it has been a week since I told my now very much ex, that I was keeping the baby...and nothing...zip..nada..not even a text....oh well cant stress about it...onwards and upwards!

Lozza70 · 06/06/2007 12:24

Thanks Beller. Sorry to hear about your ex. He is probably really freaking out and does not know what to say. My DH had a freak out about 2 weeks after I told him we would be having a baby and it was all planned!

beller · 06/06/2007 12:34

yeah i know..but he has known for 4 weeks the same as me...He is just worried about him and the effect it has on him( i have told him i dont need or expect anything from him, other than support if it comes!), he saw my mates boyfriend sunday and said he dosnt know how to tell his mum or 12 year old daughter, which i do sympathise with, but how does he think I feel?! Telling my dad wasnt exactly roses!
Im sure I may hear from him at some point....whether its this year or next i dont know!

Bettymamma · 06/06/2007 14:40

Hi ladies

Beller - stay strong, you are doing the right thing. He will come round to accepting it at some point. If needs be you may have to contact him at some point. (by the way I love the fact grown men don't like telling their mums stuff!)

Well done getting the NHS dentist by the way. I wasn't aware they still exist! Hope the headaches is better

MrsMcJnr - am thinking of you. Such good news with the scan, I'm sorry to hear about bleeding though. I do know lots of people who get that and everything is fine. I know it will be bringing back memories though. I hope you are ok and can get some rest. Phone the EPU as well.

Awen - haven't crossed paths in ages - keep away from the ironing. Hope you are well!

Everyone else - hope you are growing fat bellies. Tight jumper on today. Not good.

teenagersagain · 06/06/2007 15:03

Afternoon gals, what a busy thread, it's taken me ages to catch up, I can see this becoming a real time consuming addiction!

mrsmcjnr - thanks for remembering my scan 2morrow & congrats on seeing your lo heartbeat...how lovely, try not to worry too much, easier said than done I know, but do ring your m/w for some reassurance. i have not had a scan this early before so don't quite know what to expect, i hope it's not stirrups for me, but i guess thats a small price to pay!

Hello & congrats to you Lozza!

Mummyto2 - just read that you couldn't get a scan & feel a bit guilty, but I guess every health authority is different.
On the plus side, it's not that long until your m/w apptm & perhaps she will hurry things up a bit if you explain how anxious you are?

just thought I'd share with you all that I am waiting for my very ddp to return from his vascectomy, as he wanted to know who I hadn't told so I can now reply 38 mum's to be!!

plummymummy · 06/06/2007 15:06

bella - sorry about lack of contact from your ex. Maybe his daughter might like to have a half sister/brother? Maybe his mum too might like to be a grandmother again. Did you get on with her before the split? I agree that he is probably freaking out somewhere. Oh the luxury men have of being able to freak out

beller · 06/06/2007 15:06

teenagersagain- hope he isnt too sore!! speedy recovery!!

barristermum · 06/06/2007 15:24

Hi girls,

I had a wobble myself at the start of the week so know how you feel Mrs McJnr. When calgary went I felt so bad for her and so scared, then I found out about a friend of a friend who turned up for her 12 week scan to find baby had died at 7 weeks. I cdn't bear it anymore and booked a private scan where Calgary had hers for this Sunday. The lack of or randomness of symptoms was doing my head in and I just feel I might be able to be more sunny positive if I could see a heartbeat etc. I will be 8+5 so hopefully good. Will it def be stirrups? - that might be a rather sudden intro for dh into the lack of dignity associated with pg.

So as you see Lozza we are all completely neurotic wusses, and you are in the greatest most supportive company!

BWMum · 06/06/2007 15:26

GRRRRR!!! I just phoned Kingston hospital to check what date my booking appointment will be and they say they have not yet received a letter from my doctor!!!! It should have been posted on 18 May. I am going to be so so so so so so peeved if we can't get in there and have to go to St Helier just because of inefficiency somewhere. I knew this was going to happen, have just had a feeling for weeks that we'd have a mess up with the hospital.

Sorry, have to vent about this somewhere!

teenagersagain · 06/06/2007 15:27

Mmmm....he thinks it will be a breeze, but oddly enough it has taken him 5 years to get around to it....men are such cowards!

Beller - not wishing to butt in, but you are so doing the right thing for yourself ...hooray for you & gongratulations!!

barristermum · 06/06/2007 15:30

btw beller - the more I read of this guy the more I think you are well shot of him - so so egocentric. Was he like this about other stuff in your r/ship or is it just reproduction that send him running for the hills regardless of those he abandons - his mother wd be so proud! [sceptical]

re the sleepwalking for you and pbirdy - nothing so dramatic but 10 years ago when I was just staring out and dead stressed at work Idid a spot of sleepwalking. Trouble is I don't wear anything in bed and let myself out of my flat! 1st time I woke up in the communal hallway starkers and had to wake my flatmate up who was horrified on answering the door in the wee small hours 2nd time I did actually put a thin dressing gown on, for which relief much thanks cos I walked right out of the building and woke up on the street. I couldn't wake my flatmate and ended up hysterical and had to call the police this time. Too too too awful. I started wearing pjs for a few years

ledodgy · 06/06/2007 15:37

Hello everyone. Well I wasn't going to post on here until I was 12 weeks but I had an early scan on Sunday and we saw a heart beat and a blob so everything is looking good so far and I thought i'd come and say hi. I am 9 weeks and 1 day I'm not sure when that makes me due but think it's around the 8th january. This will be my third child and was a happy suprise. I have two other children Eve who was four in April and Jack who is 18 months I also had a m/c at 8 weeks inbetween my other two so this is my fourth pregnancy. I have been feeling much rougher this time round so am looking forward to the blooming part. Anyway enough rambling from me i'm looking forward to getting to know you all in the coming months.

beller · 06/06/2007 15:47

Teenagersagain- Thanks...im getting my head round doing it alone now, just takes some of the shine of it...Little Beany will be more than worth it!
Bwmum- how annoying!! Get on the phone and give them hell! I hope you get in no problem x
Barristermum- It was quite a short relationship really about 4 months, but we had been on holiday, and he had all but moved in, staying with me around 5 times a week! I never asked him for any money etc..he worked nights as black cab driver so would sleep in the house during the day..I do think he is one of the most selfish people I have ever met, the only person he has thought about since we found out is him...Im sure he is going to wait for a while to tell his mum etc, and say we had split up,then i told him, so he dosnt look bad! Although his brother knows..so he might not be able to unless his brother keeps sctoom!
Oh well im just going to move on to my exciting, scary new life!

teenagersagain · 06/06/2007 15:59

Ha, ddp back with a foolish grin on his face, 5yrs of prevaaricating over nothing!
Ha, just wait until the anesthetic wears off in a couple of hours & I'm out tonight...tee hee!

hello and congratulations to you ledodgy!!
we are exactly the same due dates & I'm off for a scan 2morrow, this is also my 4th pregnancy!!
Love your children's names, mine are: Jacob 17, Harry 14 & milly 4, so another girl would even things up a bit, but i'm just so happy that I really don't mind.

ledodgy · 06/06/2007 16:07

Hi teenagersagain congrats to you also and your children have lovely names too. I too am not really bothered about the sex although the thought of having 16 and 18 year old teenage boys grunting at me makes me wince slightly. I also realised the other night when pondering the future that when Jack turns 18 in the Nov this new baby will turn 16 in the January and Eve will turn 21 in the April I think I best start saving now! Also imagine the exam stress that year if they stay on at school I'll have one doing GCSES, One doing A.levels and maybe even one doing finals. I think I best stop looking so far ahead. Good luck with your scan tommorrow.

beller · 06/06/2007 16:15

welcome ledodgy!! Congratulations xx

goingfor3 · 06/06/2007 16:23

Welcome ledodgy,

I saw you on a post the other day. We have the same due dates, fourth pregnancy and fingers crossed this will be our third too!
