Due at New Year....anyone else?!

kerm · 24/04/2007 12:36

Have just found out that I am pregnant. Blimey! A bit nervous/scared! DH says scared is too strong a word. Might be from his side of things but I think that I'm scared!
Due 31st Dec or 1st Jan, can't quite work out whether cycle is 29 or 30 days.
First time, so not too sure what to expect!
Anyone else due at new year?

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:22

Hi awen and bettymamma - thanks for the support. Saw pregnancy sac, yolk sac and trophoblasty but no fetal pole visible yet. Sonographer said it looks promising and will re-scan in 2 weeks. Initially disappointed but not anymore. Glad it's not ectopic and glad it is roughly right for dates. All more promising than the scans I had prior to my m/cs. Hi everyone else

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:25

Bettymamma - encouraging to hear your m/w say homebirth fine after previous ventouse delivery. Mine was several pushes, several pulls

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:29

Kings in Camberwell London have a walk-in clinic Mon-Fri mornings. It is very good too.

mummyto2littleprincess · 04/06/2007 18:32

im in ipswich

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 18:37

do you know anyone in London - can stay overnight then go back to ipswich

mummyto2littleprincess · 04/06/2007 18:45

no i dont know anyone in london

mummyto2littleprincess · 04/06/2007 18:58

has anyone started buying baby stuff

i brought a cot today from a chairty shop it was only £8 that the only thing i have

Jenswish · 04/06/2007 20:10

I haven't officially bought anything yet but bid on an everton strip in case (or even if not) we have a boy. (DP HUGE FAN) Also thinking of getting a couple of bibs that say I'm an everton supporter like my daddy! So cute and they do them in pink, if little girl.

email is [email protected], would love to see the pics.

I'm in good spirits now, I feel confident that it's gonna stick this time just cos of all the symptoms I've had, didn't get any when I MC'd.

Got first docs apt on 20th Jan straight with on-site midwife PCM just ask to see your midwife I did that, only registered on Thurs and called Fri to get apt with midwife. Didn't see the point in going to see docs just to pee on ANOTHER stick!! hahaha

Anyway, Hope everyone is going good and if I missed someone I'm sorry but this thread is HUGE!

HELLO and CONGRATS to all new posters!!

skibump · 04/06/2007 20:43

Congratulations and welcome to all the new ladies, can't believe there are so many of us!

Calgary (()) Hope you're doing as well as poss, and good luck for ttc

kt, I'm feeling exactly the same (mine will be 22 months apart) but I think it's partly hormones - when we decided to try I was already thinking they'd be better closer....you know you'll (we'll) cope, cos you just will

Mum2sons, great news on the scan, and good for plummymummy too, it's good you'll get another scan soon tho to see a bit more

Fruitful, hope the scan goes well tomorrow. I've just about stoppped bleeding now, so I've got a scan tomorrow as well to check everything's still ok (fingers crossed). My 12 week scan is 29th June, but thye don't do nuchal fold here, so I'll have to arrange that one privately.

Naetha are you in Bingly? DH used to live near there, and my Mum's family is from the area too. It's lovely there isn't it. We have 2 old cats who were very much used to ruling the roost before ds came along. They were very wary at first, but soon got very protective of him. Lots of people advised us to get a net for the cot tho, just in case they jumped in (we didn't, but cos of that he did sleep in his own room with the door closed right from the start)

skibump · 04/06/2007 21:03

Can't remember who was asking, but if you add a watch, then reset it, it takes you back to the last msg you added - makes it a bit easier to manage

gingeme · 04/06/2007 21:06

Sorry bettymama yes I had a homebirth with my last ds. It was fab. The only thing I didnt like was I didnt give birth the way I wanted to but baby was in too much of a hurry to care. I had a water birth with ds before that(in hospital) That was fab too. I want another water birth this time too.
I just feel so fat. Wore a nice brown gypsy skirt today with cream top and my dh said'sorry babe but that skirt doesnt do anything for you'. It looked so nice last summer and its elasticated so its comfy!
Hate this stage of pregnancy.
Im with you housemum I dont have anything fancy to offer job wise. I did work many years ago...I think....
Lucky you having your scan tomm fruitful. Hope it goes well seing your little bean.
A friend of mine had a baby boy last night. Im so pleased for her as she has 2 dd's and so wanted a boy

MamaMaiasaura · 04/06/2007 21:09

Housemum - I am a SAHM now finished my posting about 4 weeks ago now. DOnt think will be getting a job soon either.. DP very keen for me to be home and I am quite enjoying it too.

Plummymummy - The scan sounds good for your dates. I dont know if you remember but I only saw sac on first scan. I thought the 2 weeks would really drag but it didnt too much. Sometimes a forward wind button would be good tho - just to get there a little quicker.

Fruitful and Skibump - hope your scans go well tomorrow xx

My MS has been returning last few days. Def here more today. THink becfause i had less sleep - getting up early for school run. Also waking every night for a wee and itchy back. My boobs are def growing again and really sore. Dreading getting new bras as not wanting non wired.

Fav food at the moment is cheese and onion crisps and of course choc. Sprite is still my tipple

MamaMaiasaura · 04/06/2007 21:10

gingeme - I am with you on the tummy front. My waist line is dissapearing, I have to keep undoing trousers

skibump · 04/06/2007 21:16

Awen, with you on the bras, must get some, but still don't want to get non u-wired. Still, has to be done I suppose...

I'm sahm too, tho was a management consultant once upon a time....used to go to VERY IMPORTANT MEETINGS at 7.30am, now get hit by flying bear & elephants from ds's cot Love it

skibump · 04/06/2007 21:19

gingeme, my mw has given me edd of 14th Jan same as you, last AF was 7th April does this tally? I do realise a couple of days makes NO DIFFERENCE

gingeme · 04/06/2007 21:36

Yes skibump.Exactly right. I dont take much notice of edd's though all my lot were different. 1st ds 10 days late,ds2 was born on his dd,ds3 was 4 days early and ds4 was 6 days early. They were all different weights too. 8lb 7 oz,7lb 11 oz,7 lb 6 oz and 8 lb 13 oz and there was me thinking ds4 was going to be a small baby!!!Im sticking to my bras as long as poss. I dont wear underwired anywya and mine are so washed and worn theyre stratched so much theyll do me for a bit longer

plummymummy · 04/06/2007 23:51

Skibump and fruitful - good luck for scans tomorrow. I crashed out on the sofa and just woke up. I keep doing that - has anyone found that they can't stay awake beyond 9pm I can't allow myself to sleep at that time so I drop off on the sofa telling myself it'll be a powernap then wake up 3 or 4 hours later and can't get back to sleep. Thanks for well-wishes re. scan. Hi everyone (waves). Will catch up if I can but the activity is mega on this thread. Night night.

beller · 05/06/2007 08:02

Good luck for all the scans today!!
I had docs appt last night, and have been referred for mw appt..so have to wait now i suppose! Blood pressure etc was fine though.
Birdseed- no date yet, but only went to doc last night..so have to be patient...hopefully will get one in next couple of weeks!
My trousers are starting to feel a bit tight now...with everyone that thinks this is a weird bit of pregnancy ( not that i have been pregnant before!)...sort of twilight zone?

spud01 · 05/06/2007 08:14

Good luck Skibump and fruitful with your scans

beller · 05/06/2007 09:46

so who's clothes are getting tighter?? Mine definately are,and im 10 weeks this week...spoke to my mate and she said she was in normal clothes up to 4 months..i know everyone is different..just trying to wear all the clothes i can now, while i can ( not at the same time!!).....xx

LilyLoo · 05/06/2007 10:01

hi all back from my hols and nice to see all the new faces.
Have no chance of catching up so will have to join in again from here.
Hope all well have got my apt for my 12 week scan and have another apt with midwife this am at home so am frantically tidying round.
Hope everyone else well think the exhaustion and sickness easing off now but the clothes def getting tighter, although that could be all the pancakes in Chicagon

Bettymamma · 05/06/2007 10:32

Morning everyone

Hi Lilyloo - hope Chicago was fab. Oh American breakfasts yum!

Beller - went to work yesterday with trousers undone. My big butt had to hold them up by itself! Some clothes still fitting but my tight stuff just laughs at me

Housemum - I want to be a housemum! I'm totally jealous of SAHM's and plan to be one soon.

Awen - MS still not like it was but have other symptoms (dizzy head, emotional, strange appetite, heavy boobs etc etc) I am Quaver Queen as well. Can't get enough of that artificial cheese flavour!

Plummymummy - sounds like everything is doing what it should do. Very good

Jenswish - happy to hear you're in good spirits. It all about to get easier

I watched a homebirth thing on Livingtv last night. It looked great (but I found myself pushing when she had to push - and had horrid memories return!). The lady previously had horrendous ventouse, forceps delivery. She didn't even tear this time. Very encouraging. My MIL dead against it. Thinks I'm selfish if I do it.

Housemum · 05/06/2007 10:48

Lilyloo - good to hear from you again - I'm v jealous, I love Chicago (we have friends over there in Glenview). Have only ever been in the winter when the weather is bitter, am thinking of maybe taking a summer holiday there next year (though costs may be an issue as last time we stayed my friend had 3 kids and I had 2, now she has 4 and I will have 3, so we probably won't fit in their house!)

Beller - know exactly what you mean - I am trying to wear as much as I can now as it'll be a long time to wear a restricted wardrobe! Have already consigned 4 pairs of trousers and several shirts to a suitcase for now, and have my lovely new maternity wear hanging ready for when I need it! By early evening, the buttons have to be loosened...

Plummy - I can just about stay up now past 9 but suffer in the morning - it's hard to get my head off the pillow! DD1 went to see Dirty Dancing on stage last night and wasn't back till gone midnight, could hardly lift my head off the pillow this morning. That's after the 5am wake-up-and-go-to-the-loo, then trying to get back to sleep afterwards - like clockwork every morning at 5 I wake up and need a wee - hopefully that'll improve soon - the books say that you sometimes need to go more early on until the uterus rises out of the pelvic area (until it gets so heavy later on that you're back to weeing all the time!)
