Due at New Year....anyone else?!

1000 replies

kerm · 24/04/2007 12:36

Have just found out that I am pregnant. Blimey! A bit nervous/scared! DH says scared is too strong a word. Might be from his side of things but I think that I'm scared!
Due 31st Dec or 1st Jan, can't quite work out whether cycle is 29 or 30 days.
First time, so not too sure what to expect!
Anyone else due at new year?

Hi there ladies I wondered if I might join you please? I'm 37, pregnant for the first time (delighted about it) but nevertheless scared too - I have no idea what to expect! I'm due 15th Jan and my boobs are already 32F... Good grief! Looking forward to getting to know you all though

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2007 21:22

YAY skibump - congratulations on seeing beanies heartbeat Must be such a relief. Did they reassure you about the bleeding as can be common. What is your EDD again?

Becky - welcome u have my sympathies re bra size - I was 34G pre pregnancy. Am not 7=4.. they have alrady grown but not got myself re measured.. waiting till I am a bit further along. With them being melons I keep knocking them!

Been busy today. Ds was off with tummy bug and had appointment at ENT for him today. The consultant basically said that he needs tonsils out and possibly adenoids.. He said ds's tonsils are 'huge' and that it will be around 4 months time till op. Dr said his glands are up now and although no clear infection think he is brewing one.. would explain his tiredness, upset tummy and major strop today (not like him).

I panicked earlier about beanie too as I had some blood. Worked out was from my bottom .. TMI alert (did a huge poo as been constipated). Very relieved that it was only that tho.

7+4 today.. still wishing time away

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2007 21:23

housemum - neither of those bras go up to my current size.. def John Lewis for me I think!

Imawurzel · 23/05/2007 21:26

Housemum, that first bra is actually ok, my gawd, the 2nd one, hell no. Quite cheap aren't they, might go to M&S After payday. need to get a few more. I've got one that i fit in but the wires really dig in by my pits. Hurts. The comfy one, which was my wedding bra, i am nearly falling out the top.

Imawurzel · 23/05/2007 21:27

Just checked size, and they do mine. thats good. Awen, you must be big then.

MrsMcJnr · 23/05/2007 21:29

MrsMcJnr · 23/05/2007 21:40

Hello you two I'm good thanks. Had my scan on Monday to establish that pregnancy is in the right place, it is we only saw a sac and yolk but then I am measuring perfectly for date of OV so that makes me 5+4 today. I'm getting another scan in 2 weeks but in the meantime, I have started my Clexane injections. They are not too bad how are you both? doing well?

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2007 21:42

how exciting MrsMcJnr - my dating scan was early as well and they could only see well formed gestationjal sac.. 2 weeks later we saw heartbeat . Am now 7+4. x

Wurzel - of course i have too much time am a lazy SAHM.. lol.

Imawurzel · 23/05/2007 21:44

How come you've had scans already?
Do i live in the wrong place?
Got lady coming on 5th, so scan should be after that.
mrsM, you sound like your incubating a hen egg.

MamaMaiasaura · 23/05/2007 21:47

Imawurzel · 23/05/2007 21:48

Just thought I'd add me in - welcome calgary etc. Hello everyone - we talk WAY too much - it's a real commitment to catch up with all the news.

Had 1st Drs appt yesterday and she was LOVELY! V reassuring about almost total lack of symptoms (tho' tender breasts kicked in last night and burst into tears in her surgery so maybe not as asymptomatic as I'd thought! She said not to have scan as prob wdn't see anything much before 8 weeks and as I feel reassured and have no bleeding am happy to go with that. She did say I needed to choose hospital and am totally ignorant as to how. Anyone any suggestions - my choices are the Wittington or Royal Free Hampstead. We're away this weekend so I can't do tour and want to say soon-ish so can book in with midwife etc.

big hugs all.

MrsMcJnr · 24/05/2007 10:44

Awen ? I hope my next scan is as good as the one you had at the same stage

Imawurzel ? my scan was only because they needed to know I wasn?t ectopic so they could prescribe the Clexane. That said, after my MC I would have been really keen to have an early scan anyway to put my mind at rest a bit. It does sound like I am growing a chick doesn?t it!

Wow!! What a long list already! any other Scottish ladies here? Welcome to all the newbies! Wishing you all healthy and successful pregnancies

Barristermum ? can?t comment on hospitals but glad to hear things are going well By my LMP, we have the same due date! They told me at hospital that my EDD is 15/1

Hello Katyt1

LilyLoo · 24/05/2007 11:38

Wow 24 !
Am at work and have run out of food to eat as feel very sick today and have already ate my lunch

BeckyAu · 24/05/2007 11:42

Yay! I made the list - thanks Calgary! Has anyone else had sudden spells of dizziness? Nothing drastic but not very nice either? As this is my first time I wonder whether each thing that happens is "normal" or not! To you lovely ladies feeling sick... I had my first nausea in Tescos the other day which was awful - I nearly dumped the trolley and ran for the door - twice! I have found that crystallised ginger really helps with the sicky feeling. I keep some in my handbag now and it's lovely!!

Calgary99 · 24/05/2007 11:50

Hey Becky,
I've been having light-blackouts (where things go dark and you feel woozy for a few seconds) every day or two for about a week now though I have low blood pressure and have had them before when I get up too quickly. Might want to ask at your doctor on your next visit especially if you've not had them before.

Where did you buy your crystallized ginger? I've been looking everywhere for it and haven't found it in my Clapham Common neighborhood yet. Instead I've got ginger jam, some really yummy Begian Chocolate Stem Ginger Cookies from Asda and lots of ginger beer.

BeckyAu · 24/05/2007 11:54

Hi there - I got my crystallised ginger in my local health food shop but have bought it before in tesco (next to all the dried fruit) but have found it to buy online at Lakeland for £2 - bargain! They do a hot version too if you like things spicier. Here's the link www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!4148

birdseed · 24/05/2007 12:41

Re seabands my dad got them for me when I was about 10 because I used to get really travel sick. I never used them then and they have sat at the bottom of my drawer ever since!...useful now, although I couldn't swear whether or not they make a difference. Every day seems to be a bit different anyway, but I am wearing them anyway...although with long sleeves so that people don't spot them and twig!

I think that he got them from boots and have heard that you can still get them there.

Re ginger - my dp got me some chocolate covered ginger from the healthfood chain with the green carrier bags, can't remember their name temorarily, but they often advertise vitamins on TV. I also got nice ginger biscuits, I think from mcnairns.
