Sorry 2.5 cm that should have said!

Testar0ssa · 04/12/2017 10:19

Virtual hugs for sunshine fingers crossed those 2 years go quickly x

FairfaxAikman · 04/12/2017 10:32

20 week scan today and I have an anterior placenta, but it's not sitting low.

Was unable to be sure of the sex and baby kept legs together. Sonographer said if she had to put money on it she'd say girl, but was only 70% sure.

Finding the concept of having a girl a bit difficult to deal with, for the sole reason that I was so convinced it was a boy.
I'm not fussed about sex as such, just more the idea that I was wrong.

ClaireBear1986 · 04/12/2017 15:20

Glad I am not the only one who jumps @Olicat.
Surprised at how hard the kicks are, but love feeling them.

It's really nice for mt DP to be able to feel the kicks too and bond with little man.

Can I ask where in Essex you are @MangoLove. I am also in Essex and due around the same time...19th April.

Aspenn17 · 05/12/2017 08:26

Morning everyone!

What are your opinions on babyshowers? Are you having one? If so how many people are you inviting and are you/your mum/friends just planning something low key at home or are you going to a venue?

Thelostsock · 05/12/2017 10:06

Morning @Aspenn17 !

Have loved other friends showers but also wouldn't want my friends to feel they had to come, to buy me presents! Although obviously most will anyway so feels silly not wanting to appear greedy. It's difficult!

One friend is organising something for our small group as an excuse to catch up really as we're all over the country now. Other than that I don't think I'll do anything big, I'd be too embarrassed

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 05/12/2017 11:44

Aspenn

I’m not fussed about one & don’t plan on having one
In the last year I have planned both my hen and wedding and honestly after all that faff I don’t fancy planning anything ever again let alone while pregnant and knackered!!

If someone wants to throw me a surprise one then I would obviously go and enjoy! (But I really don’t see that happening)

Ooooh ClaireBear1986 how exciting. I'm literally on the Essex/Kent border near Lakeside shopping centre. Whereabouts are you?

I had my 20wk scan and will be having another little prince. I'm super excited that DS1 will have a little brother and there is only going to be 2yrs between them. I sat thinking about the future yesterday and cant wait to have a grown up sons (not wishing time away - just looking forward to it). I think 2 is my number so I'll be the only female in the house Smile.

I was also told I have a low lying posterior placenta so have to go back at 34 weeks for a follow up. Fingers crossed it moves! I'm at the point now where my belly comes out further than my boobs - I need to get a load of long vests to start wearing under my clothes now too!

Hows everyone doing with their wardrobe?

LivLemler · 05/12/2017 22:10

My wardrobe is obliterated. 23 weeks tomorrow and pretty much entirely maternity wear now. I think the combo of 5'2" me carrying 6'2" DH's baby is not resulting in a small bump! I do quite like my new clothes though, and it's the first time in my life I've had a hard stomach . Grin

Thelostsock · 06/12/2017 08:11

Yup I vacuum packed almost my entire wardrobe away at the weekend. It's now in the loft and I have about 10 outfits for both work and weekends. It's great! I love not having too much to pick from, makes getting ready for work much quicker Grin

ClaireBear1986 · 06/12/2017 09:15

@MangoLove, I am in Hornchurch now but I grew up in Kent. I was Medway though, so quite far from where you are.
I do love a Lakeside trip though :)
Congrats on your little boy, I am also having a boy and I am over the moon!!

21 weeks tomorrow and apart from finding my jeans uncomfortable I am still in my normal wardrobe (I have treated myself to some leggings in the size up.) I definitely feel like bump might be starting to expand a bit now though.
My Mum had very small neat bumps with all 3 of us, so hoping to take after her.

Crazy to think that we will be 6 months before the year is out, I feel properly pregnant now!!

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

NickMyLipple · 06/12/2017 09:21

I haven't stuck my head in here for ages because I've just been using the Facebook group!! You can add team pink for me!

I am having another scan today- 20 week scan for the second time. Please everyone, cross your fingers that she isn't head down again like she has been for every single scan so far! We have a beautiful femur measurement but not much else!!!

olicat · 06/12/2017 16:38

Hope baby co-operated this time nick! Our scan was today and we were sent to get a sugary drink and walk around as baby wasn't showing the right bits. Eventually got everything though. And even if we hadn't wanted to find out, it was pretty obvious it was a boy! We're not telling people irl so nice to put it here 😁

NickMyLipple · 06/12/2017 22:40

She was sideways enough for the shortest ever bit of time to get this snap, and a few of the other measurements including a good look at her heart, brain and lips! I'm really really thrilled because I haven't had a scan picture like this at all for my whole pregnancy because baby has been vertical!

Jeds55 · 07/12/2017 12:10

Glad baby was playing ball Nick and youve got a good photo. At my scan I got sent out for a walk and saw the other 2 ladies having scans doing the same thing too, seems most babies uncooperative!

Jeds55 · 07/12/2017 12:14

're maternity wear - invested in maternity tights and leggings from h&m. My jeans won't go near me anymore. So glad it's winter - living in tights and dresses. Coat on the verge of not zipping up but really don't want to buy one for the sake of a few months. Mum has a coat couple sizes up that I'm going to look at over Christmas and hopefully that'll work

FairfaxAikman · 07/12/2017 12:32

I'm lucky on the maternity clothes front. I'd lost three stone prior to conceiving but luckily I'd kept back two pairs of jeans, which I am currently wearing.

MissYeti · 07/12/2017 12:57

20+2 bump picture! (From yesterday) nothing really exciting happening, getting more achey and I'm not sleeping all that well but thats about it :/ nuggets a little wiggle bum though! Feeling him 3 or 4 times a day most days now :)

Working on my last uni assignment before Christmas (due next Tuesday), scan on Friday and then Christmas!!! Woo! Ive only bought maternity leggings, long tops and jumpers are doing me just fine at the moment :)

Aspenn17 · 08/12/2017 08:28

Cute bump @MissYeti!! Good luck on your last assignment. What are you studying?
Lovely pic @Nickmylipple, very cute little face!

Maternity wear wise I've got mat jeans, leggings, tights for work and got myself a couple of new non mat jumpers but apart from that I'm wearing lots of my old stuff, as long as it's long enough to cover bump. Starting to wonder about getting a maternity coat to see me through the winter, but I might try and do the same as you @Jeds55 and borrow one.

@whymustyoubringinthebirds I'm in the same situation! Wedding and hen do were only 6 months ago so feel like baby shower would need to be low key. My best friend wants to throw me one but I have to come up with the guest list and that's the bit that I find hardest, I have a big family which kind of makes the 'low key' bit hard! Might just invite friends and the mums, not sure my aunties know what a baby shower is anyway!

harrietm87 · 08/12/2017 08:53

I'm also wondering about a coat. My smart one is fine as it's cocoon shaped anyway, but it's not that warm and my cosy parka doesn't zip up anymore (sale purchase and always on the small side...). I have one pair of maternity jeans but otherwise wearing all my normal stuff still - thank goodness my work dresses were quite baggy! I'm 23 weeks now though and bump has really popped this week so not sure how much longer it will last!

I'm feeling the baby move loads - every couple of hours and maybe 10 times through the day? DH can feel it now too which is lovely. Also starting to get more of an appetite which is a bit worrying...

Thelostsock · 08/12/2017 09:01

Coat problems here too! I keep wondering if I can make it through Christmas and then the heat of the bump will mean I can get away with lots of layers/coat undone in the new year without having to buy anything?!

LivLemler · 08/12/2017 09:22

I've bought a maternity coat. I walk about 4 miles a day as part of my commute and the NI weather doesn't make it practical to be without a coat that closes! Gap, H&M, Top Shop all have maternity parkas, I got the Gap one as it had 40% off and I preferred the fabric. It's casual so for anything formal I guess I'll wear one of my wool coats and just not close it.

The maternity coat really does feel like a tent though!

olicat · 08/12/2017 10:33

I am determined to make my coat last, still has a bit of give in it haha. And then figure I can drape a scarf down over my stomach when I can't do it up! Totally understand why you went for a new coat liv with that commute! Most of the time I'm festering on the central line so I usually take it off straight away #rollonmatleave. Speaking of which, when are you planning on going off? I'm going to take a bit of holiday and format 35+4 I think, as really don't want to do the hour long commute for longer than I have to when huge!

olicat · 08/12/2017 10:34

Format? Should read go at..

LivLemler · 08/12/2017 11:55

Ah yeah if my commute was mostly indoors I wouldn't have bothered, but it is an essential for me.

I'm going at 38+2 I think. I'm a lecturer, so going to teach up to 37+1 and then have a week to get things tidied up. Hoping I don't come to regret that as I'm nervous about how I'll cope physically with teaching when I'm bigger, my knees etc don't have a great history of behaving. But sure I can always just sit down, at least my students are adults and should in theory understand! Plus that's based on my adjusted due date, which is 8 days earlier than my original one, which I trust. So that would have me teaching to 36 weeks and finishing at 37+1 which isn't too bad.
